Hybrid Hive: Eat Shard? (Worm/MGLN) (Complete)

Very enjoyable story. I can't remember if I started reading this right when you started sharing it, but it was pretty close, so thanks for 4 years of reading and enjoying the story. The last portion got a bit slow I think, but all in all it was very good. Kudo's as well for finishing it. Not that you appear to have a problem doing so, but so many fanfic stories never make it to the end, and you have managed a couple so far, and not short ones either.

Wow, it's been quite a journey, starting well before the pandemic, escorting us through it, and coming to a satisfying conclusion. Thank you for the story and I look forward to anything coming up next.

My, my. Four years. As glad as I am that this book is finally finished (And HOW!), it was quite the enjoyable ride. Thank you CmptrWz, for another wonderful story.

Something of interest:
Adult fiction novels typically range between 70k-120k words.
Hybrid Hive Eat Shard is 1.4 million words. So this isn't just a book; it's length is around that of 11.66-20 books.
This one story has more words than the entire Harry Potter series (1,084,170), and is just shy of thrice as many words as the LOTR trilogy (481,703... Though that goes up to 576,459 if you add in The Hobbit).

Curiously, Worm is 1.68 million words long (~26 normal novels), so part of why it wound up being so long may just be that web serials just... tend to be long, likely due to a lack of the pressures of making a physical book; no need to limit page number to keep the books a reasonable size, or pay money to the publisher based on the number of pages for example.

Maths aside, congrats CmptrWz, for completing your ~15 novels-long story.

This was a staple of my routine: Get up Thursdays, get ready and read the latest Chapter. Same on Tuesdays with 'For want of an Outfit' and Saturdays with 'Tome of the Orange Sky'.
End of an Era is right.
Thanks for writing these works and sharing them with us all. Can't wait to see what you fill the slot with next.

….Now, what to do Thursday mornings until then

Damn you how could you deprive us of your wordz

Well a big thank you for so much wonderful entertainment and I look forward to your next project if there's a next one hopefully there is please

"...we, the still-struggling Secret Kingdom, accidentally triggered the creation of this Please Ignore the Secret Kingdom?"

"Through deflecting a heavily-damaged Unison Device out of the high-mana layer that had been retreated into to attempt to rebuild, back before we were forced further away. We went 'up' while the Unison Device had been sent 'down', which is probably part of why it's taken a while for the resulting kingdom to get close to us."

It would've been nice if they'd been able to get their science ships out of the stupid succession war. Then they'd probably have been able to return centuries ago to sweep through and take over. But no, only the performers had really survived...

HA! That's one heck of a Brick Joke. When the TSAB was checking old records shortly after making contact, they thought theorized that please Ignore the Secret Kingdom could be a surviving splinter of a group presumed wiped out during the Succession Wars due to not wanting to participate. Turns out they actually DID survive. though they apparently lost the ships that contained most of their researchers and other science stuff on the way out.

And so things come full circle. Yhe Secret Kingdom really was behind it all along!

By accident.

Turns out the Secret Kingdom actually exists. There's some Omake Bait to be had with reaction shots to that.

You mean still exists. The TSAB knew they existed, but assumed they were wiped out

Considering how disruptive just bringing a Dyson Sphere close to a star system would be, just coming close to their general direction would make anyone with a tenth of a brain try to fix things so she doesn't come any closer...

Gravity manipulation, probably. Like in "Moonfall" I presume the seemingly ridiculous idea of the Moon yanking stuff up with its gravity as it made a low pass was actually due to the White Dwarf inside becoming progressively less shielded as the kill-crazy nanotech drained the energy supply dry

Thank you for the wonderful story. Every time there was an update it made my day, knowing there was another well written chapter to read. You are an amazing author, and I hope you continue writing and sharing your stories.
