un very terrible and not intented, but for all the fridge horror of puppetification, Johanna really shows she's much more bark than bite. She could have really done terrible things to the Lookout (and undoubtedly the Patrol will think she did), but actually the worst thing was the paranoia gambit with cameras and moved furniture - harmless, but annoying things that will keep them on edge, but harm nobody directly.
Gaslighting then? Like I said earlier in the quest, leave coded messages in graffiti all over town. Maybe sing a song and pull a Bill Cipher? "I'm watching you pups."

Also, our newest Vex and Allay are named after the good questers @LordEdric and @Panory respectively. :) Round of applause to them.
Wait, how am I a good questor?

Overall, exactly what I had in mind when suggesting the idea, which I am glad caught on so enthusiastically.

Dude, that guy looks just like me with more hair and my old glasses. Like seriously, he would look like me from 10 years ago if I had thicker hair

I've just realized something. Whenever Jo schemes, she does it for cash, fun and/or attention. She has horror chops, but prefers to use it to prove a point, rather than to be genuinly intimidating like Batman. Her direct goals really do little harm. It's just she doesn't particularly care about collateral damage and innocents caught in crossfire.
I'm also tentatively going to say that her sadistic showoffs are consequence of bottled frustration from her familial circumstances. Reminds me a bit of "Child of the Storm" (wonderful fanfic, go read, but be warned it takes a while to get going) - a lot of dark experiences in childhood led to a ton of suppressed rage that festered into a dark side that has limited scrupules and penchant for ruthless and occasionally cruel tactics.
Jo is basically silver age Joker to Ryder's Adam west Batman. Ryder is a smart boy with a ton of gadgets and more vehicles than avid collectors. Plus he has an army of sidekicks, because no matter how popular the pups are, Ryder is in charge and the pups only move after he gives orders.

You're here, aren't you? :p

To weigh in on the topic of Johanna, I think the reason she can be viewed as terrifying is that the audience knows she holds back a lot.

In the interlude, "Do You Feel Like a Hero Yet?", Johanna went absolutely ballistic on the bounty hunters and basically tortuted one of them before puppetifying him. Seeing the Puppeteer, who had previously been a cute stage magician villain who was hilariously bad at driving, act so sadistically and ruthlessly makes one wonder, "What else can she do when in a bad mood?"

And that doesn't even include the vast potential she has to turn even scarier.

Oh yeah, that was an interesting Interlude. It just puts more into my comparison to silver age joker, with a side of her closer to bronze age joker(the harley quinn show one)

I'm surprised that Merlin actually had kind of a point when talking about the Puppeteer, even if he was completely wrong to dismiss her as a threat, she really is still just a novice when it comes to magic. I wasn't expecting that to get brought up but it does make me wonder if Jo just has crazy amounts of potential for magic and that's why she's so strong already.

Merlin's a jerk, not an idiot. ;)

I don't like character bashing, so even the despicable characters will tend to have a point at times. Merlin's not even that bad of a guy, he's just arrogant.

Outstanding! Our evil scheme is going smoothly! Can't wait for the reactions to this.

Side note, did we ever come up with an exit strategy?

Jo doesn't even truly want to hurt the pups she basically just test their mettle and grab some shinies at the same time to keep up her Supervillain mantle.

Wow... this is really high effort for a first post. :D I'm deeply honored that this is your first post here, as well as the fact that this thread is why you signed up as a new member.

Though, may I suggest that you age up Nyx just a little? 12 or 13 would suffice, as I've also aged the other children characters up a little.

Also, I don't want to introduce Nyx just yet, so I'm going to have to push Nyx showing up further up the schedule.

It's still Canon, though, and I really love the effort that was put into this. :)
WOOHOO SHE'S CANON! 🎉
🥳 Hehe thank you, thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed the work I put into this and like her enough to include in the fic/quest.

I've also taken the liberty to edit the omake so her age is not only 12 now, but also edit the scene so she's rewatching already retrieved/recorded footage obtained by spy drones. Figured it would help and fit more into your desire for Nyx to show up further up the schedule.
Something i'm actually quite fine with gives chance to potentially foreshadow her arrival, with perhaps segment or "episode" about Skye or her acting off during a episode. Like every year around certain part (Or parts of the year) Skye acts strange and in is a slump, whether it be Nyx birthday, the anniversary of her and Nyx meeting, or the anniversary of the day their bond broke.

I can't wait to see how she debuts and comes into play~ Oh and on her inventions/creations feel free to use anything that comes to mind that you think would be good fit~

Admit one idea I had was some kinda backpak or PAK (like Invader Zim wears) that can retract or extend four tentacles arms think like Doc Ock from Spider-Man whether Spectacular or movie versions, or something this maybe.

Anyway thank you so much means a lot~ Now than can I just say LOVE the latest update~ Think playing this "episode" great with the riddles and the reactions toward Puppeteers victims was spot on. Plus really loved their reaction when they realized where she and Presto were at great stuff~

It's going to be great to see how the climax of the episode plays out that's for sure!

Oh and before I forget got a question that goes for not just Nyx but all OC that are or will come into play such as the new pups, Blaze, and Glow.

Will we see them receive their own Popularity points and get highlight of how the viewers take them, and so on? Same goes for Notority/Villain points or whatever equivalent for the Pups/heroes?

I've been wondering some thigns and I'm not sure if any of them have been asked before. First thing is wondering about Rubble and Crew?

But past that was wondering about Codi Gizmody let alone her episode? Namely such as those who came to assist the Paw Patrol also included Sweetie as an example. At the same time was wondering about certain characters also joining NEMESIS (which side note, I wonder if at least fans of the show will notice the detail of that being in all caps indicating a organization). Such as Sweetie, Arrby, etc.

Do want to ask about Codi, but at the same time wondering about her and others deciding to form a rival group to NEMESIS with different goals compared to how its members might act...For one just a thought of members of NEMESIS possible still steping in to act as alliies in certain situations or something...

Was also a thought of what if at some point something ended up having to rely on Pupeteers terrible driving?

Leave random puppet themed graffiti all over the place?

Maybe pay soem kids to start up a new nursery rhyme about us?
Something along those lines. Something for the Paw Patrol, the city, and the viewers. Codes to be solved leading to cryptic messages.

As for a nursery rhyme.....that almost reminds me of something. While I have not watched the show, remember the netflix show "Centaurworld"? I have heard some clips of a particular song. The Nowhere King. Another example would be Gaunter O'Dimm from Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. An eerie song about us would be amusing.

Codes, nada, something that looks and sounds like a code, OTOH....

In essence, random numbers and letters in a madeup code.

As for the rhyme, yeah, that would work. I was envisioning the chant from Bioshock Infinite about Songbird, but it works just as well

"Songbird, Songbird, see him fly,
drop the children from the sky.
When the young ones misbehave,
escorts children to their grave.
Never back-talk, never lie,
or he'll drop you from the sky!
"

Rubble and Crew does not exist, anyone who says otherwise is a lying liar.

Jokes aside, besides the fact that the seriws breaks Paw Patrol canon, I'm just not a fan of that show in general so don't expect to see anything from it in the quest. I might adapt some aspects, but I'll probably not either.

All Paws on Deck was a general disappointment to me, and Codi was one as well.

I'd rant about the wasted potential of Codi, but to cut it short, it tells a lot when a schmuck like me can write a better villain than Codi. :V For heaven's sakes, they should have just used Copycat, he's a much better villain.

No, scratch that, anyone can write a better villain than Codi.

I've come to the conclusion that Merlin isn't just arrogant he's also privileged to have had access to magical education and tools, meanwhile Johanna was operating on a shoestring budget until the first heist was done and is essentialy catching up to Merlin pretty god damn quickly. (For all I know she's actually better at magic than him already just gotta get more spells.)

@Duke William of If there's a large enough negative sentiment within the city, will we be able to try and incite protests and the like? You know, to hurt the morale of the Paw Patrol and to give potential villains to-be encouragement to take action as well.

If we can combine it with dog whistle sirens at night, to decrease their effectiveness due to sleep deprivation and make them cranky and more likely to snap at each other and at others, then I imagine that having the people seemingly turn on them as well might bring them that much closer to the edge.

...Am I being too evil?

... You know, after reading that comment, it triggered associations again and reminded me of Trixie from MLP.

She was also rejected from unicorn school because she didn't have a lot of talent (according to them) and rich relatives who could push her through, which would make her a self-taught generalist with a lot of talent, but not a lot of reserve magic.

Anyway, you gave me an idea about Omake, which I would like to write, but I'm not sure what the ending will be yet, so I will slowly write it, but already now I think I found a way to close the gaps in our ward's education.

My muse has been beating me over the head with concepts for fanfics and quests for the past few years, seemingly unaware that I am neither a good enough writer nor capable of mustering up the motivation to try.
I would say try to wirte omakes first. A lot of skill inevitably comes from pratice.
Qming is a harder skill to conceptualize but i basically boils down to have fun and not be constantly stressed due irl stuff while being decent in managing personel.

Ah, my weaknesses.
I had done quite a few Negaverse omakes, but I should probably branch out at some point too, so thanks for the advice.
