I like this option. I don't have much to say beyond that, and thanks for the update.

Huh, holy shit Prok that's faster than I was expecting, thank you. Gonna be joining the bandwagon on vote though, this feels like the best set we can do.

I'm curious if Remnant Factoid and Grimm Research will influence the results of General Utility, insofar as infrastructure designs need to take into account environment and hazards. At least in the long term.

Then again, it's called "General." Might be the case that specific designs that take into account, say, "you can't build anything too tall in this territory or Nevermore will start perching like a bunch of jackasses" (or whatever weird nonsense the world throws at us) are later in the tech tree, relying on the blueprints in General Utility.

Utility is handy, soul learning is very important, and Jerks seem like they could be a useful addition to Process forces, both against Grimm and (particularly when upgraded to get the 3.0's pull) against Huntsmen-peer targets.

Something tells me that getting this soul business done quick is kinda vital here, possibly game changing even, 'cose soul ==
- access to magic and/or aura
- new paths of development
- possibly conceptual protection from the Witch Queen/better damage to Grimm? (or would getting a soul actually grant her access? Getting aura?)
- more really cool lore and philosophical discussion (and I want to know if Pyranesi got mom'd!)
- our boi is growing and everybody needs a soul

Loved the update, drunk Weiss was adorable, Yang's inner narration was spot on and awesome, Lumen needs to paint the boat thing red to GO FASTAH!

Should this not be a plan vote? Way easier to avoid messing up the point tally that way.

I do enjoy the fact that in this Beacon, Jaune is apparently building a reputation for being a tough fight. There's no real way Blake or Yang would even really fear taking on Canon Jaune, after all.

Just because a deal is only temporarily available doesn't make it a good deal. The option text even calls it wasteful.

I'm leery of doing Grimm research on the off chance the Grimm learn about the Process in return. I vote we research the Grimm next turn.

The temporary shiny interests me because it's something I want to advance anyway (also I was really sad when the Piranesi section ended, it was super interesting and that alone makes me want to pick it in the future), general utility is always good and having either more income or a boost to PR is never bad either, and I think Process Advancement will make future info gathering on the Grimm more efficient since it'll be easier to capture specimens with better units.

Factoids seems great to throw points at when we have 3 leftover that wouldn't be enough to hit a different threshold, and if we ever do want Process satellites to observe Grimm movement would be useful. Similarly, Grimm research would be great, but would probably be more efficient with other things researched first plus seems like it would be a nearly endless point sink that always give consistent returns. Probably will also get substantially harder once the low hanging fruit is grabbed.

I now find myself wondering whether Grimm Research and General utility might influence Process Advancement. I would expect Grimm Research to be a good source of information on what would make for a better grimm researcher, while General Utility might produce data on what specifically is needed for urban construction units to be of maximum efficiency and universal effectiveness. Cartographers could also be a thing...

It's almost kind of wasteful to use them like this
Technically, "almost" wasteful, is not actually wasteful, much as "almost" filing paperwork by the deadline, "almost" escaping the monster in a horror-movie, and a space-shuttle "almost" exploding in-flight would all not quite qualify as the thing by which they are described. I'm not, however, commenting upon how valid a "technical" reading of the line is.

Though yeah, "brain the size of a planet, and all I do is some kid's homework" is a touch "using a hammer to thread a needle"... on the other hand, finding and reviewing the entirety of the recorded history of research into souls would that Jaune a very long time, while The Process could likely find, collect, and compress data with remarkable efficiency. Souls, in Remnant, are kind of a big deal, with a whole mess of practical applications, so it is not exactly insignificant material, nor something that is of no use to The Process' own pursuits...

This doesn't make sense as anything except a plan vote, so that's how I'm formatting mine.

Sure, it doesn't give us new forms, but it gets us every other research option so I'm fine with that.

I think the Remnant Factoid is important, not for Jaune, but for the Process to know the people of the world.
