[X] The Engineer

[X] The entire back of the vambrace comes apart, and a downright… cruel blade slides out from underneath, its parts unfolding out to their full length with a sudden snap. You watch with equal parts horror and interest as the parts twist, fold, and extend with the movements of your fingers, turning you into something like a praying mantis. (Mantis Claw- melee-range, designed more for grappling and separating limbs than being used as a sword.)

[X] The Suitcase
[X] The vambrace unfolds, twisting and widening until it becomes a large kite shield, twisting and rotating until you clench your fist again, and it locks into place. You don't miss the keen edge lining the shield. (Razor Shield, a short-range defensive option with limited offensive capability. Additional Aura bonus.)

That Suitcase look looks really quite nice especially imagining the Transistor on his back instead of the suitcase.

Wait, are we suppose to vote for clothes as well? I thought it was just a list of everything in our suitcase. : s

Pretty sure it was not exactly what you described, but I cannot help but think that this

looks like this

And that would be awesome!

Guys! Guys! listen to this! Chainsaw gauntlets................and vambraces.......
So we can both chainsaw punch and chainsaw kick
Better yet, lets build a rocket chainsaw punch!

I just assume Weiss took him out shopping for clothes at some point.

[X] A goddamn chainsaw shoots out of the top, revving up to its full speed with every clench of your fist. Less dangerous hand to God, you have never felt this fucking metal in your entire life. (A Goddamn Chainsaw- melee range, high maintenance/fuel cost, very low defence capability, extremely high damage output if used correctly.)
If this is supposed to be our hold out weapon then we should make it as intimidating as possible. (also this sounds amazing)

And somehow. Against all odds. I got you bastards to Beacon.

… Was it worth the wait?
Considering (fictional) people train their whole lives just to get a chance to pass the first screening? Yes, yes it was worth it.

"Warning- 8% hormonal deviation from baseline. Are you sure you do not wish to spend more time balancing yourself?"

"Eh, close enough. Maybe I'll like the new me better than the baseline." You mumble semi-jokingly at the Cell.
That doesn't sound healthy.

-Dale Darrie, if this is a telemarketer please hang up the phone and then yourself.-
I like this guy :D

Jaune is exactly the sort of person who can leverage a limited use ultra high damage weapon effectively. Turn()'s time dilation essentially means Jaune pull some crazy reversals with 'sudden chainsaw bitch!' and the Process is eventually going to make it even worse. If we never get a chance to make a pun about Turning() a monster inside out, then Humanity has already lost.

Plus the dichotomy of Jaune as being the thinker and the analyst of the group combined with Jaune's visceral anger and hate issues lends nicely to him suddenly whipping out the Chainsaw when he has to get his Rip and Tear on.

Literally dressed to kill. I like it.

If we're gonna go into business we might as well wear a kickass power suit as a Hunter CEO.

Meanwhile, if we're going for a holdout/bugout weapon, we sould grab the one that can increase our survivability.

E: I thought we had some skill with shields, we do not. I still think this is good.

Because it's by far the best.

Mainly because it's what we need. Transistor's offensive options completely trump any weapon we could carry (yes, even the chainsaw), but the weapon we carry is meant to protect us (or others) whilst the Transistor is unavailable (after using Turn, or if the Transistor is busy doing something else).

As far as the gun option is concerned...we could just carry a gun with us, if need be.

Anyway, this update was pretty interesting. Lumen, in particular, surprised me--I had no idea he basically had to build his personality from scratch every morning. That's horrifying on many levels, really. Also, what the hell happened to Lumen's parents? Why are he and his twin sister living alone with two young children?

Beyond that, it's honestly quite weird, thinking about the team dynamics. On the one hand, it'd be awesome to see Jaune on a team with Ruby and Weiss--because the dynamic between all three of them would be hilarious and heartwarming in all kinds of ways. Jaune would probably see Ruby as a little sister...who has non-stop energy, is absolutely crazy, wields a crazy weapon with absurd effectiveness, and is a huge weapon nut (with all of the engineering expertise that entails). Weiss and Jaune already have a pretty solid and interesting relationship, too.

The canon team would...not work nearly as well, I'd imagine. Jaune would have to overcome his initial...awe and feelings of intimidation by Pyrrah's fame, fighting prowess, and proximity (it would be kind of surreal to go from "that flawless fighter celebrity you've seen a bunch on TV" to "my partner and roommate" literally overnight, while not being on the same team as her puts some distance there, giving him time to adjust and process it all before having to confront it directly). Ren and Nora wouldn't just completely outclass Jaune's skill and standing, so he'd be more immediately coming to grips with their antics and relationship with each other. Which wouldn't be bad, per se, but it'd change the whole tone of it all.

And then you've got this team of OCs that have really grown on us over time. Lumen is somewhat manic, but in a different way from Ruby (he's more of a "fuck everything, I'm 110% done with this shit" manic, while Ruby is "I'm too focused on how fucking awesome this is going to be to worry about how terrifying/dangerous it is"). Creme is relatively sane, normal, and happy, but she's got the specter of the White Fang hanging over her head thanks to her brother. She's kind of a Yang-lite when it comes to teasing, which will be interesting. Ada has half a foot inside the "fight or flight" mentality thanks to the mass murderer after her and the rather lacking support network she's had for all this time. She's often shy, distant, and afraid, which will make things interesting--but she also brings Jaune out of his shell in pretty spectacular fashion, which will be fun.

Yeah, I like the idea of having two options for outfits.

I know, chainfist, but we don't need offense. We need to survive long enough to reunite with Transistor. Or wait out the time between Turns.

Also, to all the chainsaw voters, razor shield can be just as metal as the chainsaw. All we have to do is punch an Ursa paw hard enough to split it in half, and, as has been stated, we actually do kinda lift, given the density of the Transistor. Plus, physics. The bear's weight would do most of the work, especially if we use the Process to assist in weapon maintenance.

Monomolecular filament edged shield anyone?
