New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

-----------------------

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

The Spear is the sort of object most Law Creation cultivators wish they could create.
Well that opens a whole new can of worms. Since you're handing out free spoilers, can it block a tribulation or poke any of the parts involved in the Trials?
It makes Manuel the best Mid Nascent in the Third Sea.
This has been repeated quite a number of times and while I understand that it's the most conventionally impactful benefit, it also appears to be the least interesting in terms of exploiting the law abilities to completely hufflepuff someone's day.

Also, there's the part where Manuel was never going to go full Inigo Montoya, finding minute flaws in an opponent's technique and sticking the spear into them, I'm a lot more excited to see how it performs when he fights evasively like he did against Bhrigu, poking someone from distance and shadows and just generally poking the spear in all the places where it does not belong.
He's not going to dominate someone in two or three hits,
Hmm . . . hypothetically, with the flaws that he discovered in Jiao's Dao and the spear as a surprise, could he have a chance to insta-kill her in a 2v2?

The interaction with LSTs is still a bit obscure.
and he's still very much vulnerable to taking damage once the spear's limitations are figured out.
Lucky us, playing for team infosec. :V

Although it does take the fun away in some sense, because now I'm willing to bet that the best use of the spear is to hide / unveil its abilities at the right time to make it look even scarier than it is and Manuel already does that best on his own . . .

Thanks a lot for all the info.

Nah. Manuel is already fully capable of bluffing with no hand He doesn't need the spear for that. The best way to use the spear is to continue to "bluff", get someone to call him on it, get them to fully commit, and then punish them hard with the fact that he has the spear - preferably killing them so that the only thing that anyone else knows is that whoever it was went up against Manuel and died as a result.

And super curse, and some living parasite, and another uber poison, and dao magic, and fragment of really vengeful souls, and other stuff.

What? Nascent souls are difficult to kill. Those super cockroach have some treasures/skills/and etc. That only should really go beyond to make a single wound death. :D

Even Junjie as relatively weak as he is, has enough wealth and experience to be disgustingly padded in LSTs. Let's see how the dice roll

Samson Murus 1 - Dealing with Dealers of Death
Dealings With Dealers of Death.

Samson stared at the stranger in the mirror who stared back. He...shone in a way he never had before, his metal skin, like armor plates, was now the color of burnt gold having been purged of all impurities. He had never felt this good before, even the bloodline boost he had received decades ago hadn't left him feeling like this. Whatever it was the clan had given him had faded since his meteoric rise in cultivation but still no doubt helped add to his changes.

"Twenty years." he muttered to himself, in just twenty years he had breached the 10th Heaven Stage. What should have taken more than century had taken him a fifth of that. Entering the Yuan secret realm had been a gamble but it was a gamble that had payed off in a way he never imagined. Perhaps he should attempt the Qiguai realm next, even though he had used his healing treasure to avoid being too badly wounded. However he was certain he could find or buy another such treasure within the next few decades.

He closed his eyes and sighed. He slowly breathed in and out for a few minutes basking in the sheer power that now flowed through his body. He rubbed his left arm, the memory of raw musculature exposed to open air still at the back of his mind. But the art he had created had saved his life and allowed him to make his way deep into the Ghost Tree Forest safely. Opening his eyes he turned around and started getting ready for the new day. "Sixty years left. Hmm do I attempt reaching the 11th or just move on to my break through... decisions for later." he fully dressed himself and exited his temporary abode.

Grey light shinning through the fog met him as he left the small house that the Ghost Tree Forest Kings, an imaginative name that, had allowed him to stay in for the negotiations.

"Good morning to you honored Devil!" a high pitched voice called out to him, he saw the leader of the small enclave of the Kings he was negotiating with approach him. Yin Ning was a short man, effeminate and pale, he was a rarer form of necromancer: a Corpse Refiner, one who sacrifices their own cultivation to empower the corpses of slain enemies that they have repaired and reanimated. While the corpses couldn't undergo tribulation and advance to the next great realm their energy used on them can be taken back by the cultivator, if at a loss. Yin Ning himself was at the 2nd pillar of Foundation Establishment but he had half a dozen corpses that were between the 3rd and 6th. Said corpses stood perfectly still, glassy and empty eyes stared straight ahead. He bowed as he stopped before Samson, perhaps a bit more deeply than was strictly necessary.

"Ah, Yin Ning a good morning to you." Samson said bowing in return, however his was much more deeply as was fit for someone who was both a guest and an inferior in terms of power. "I hope all is well?" He asked knowing full well things were, at this point it was something of a game between the two of them.

Yin Ning smiled. "I hope your rest was to liking."

"Ay it was thank you, no more nightmares." Samson replied as he gave Yin Ning a look that spoke of his displeasure.

The smile turned chagrined as Yin Ning grimaced. "Again I wish to apologize for that, the junior responsible has been severely punished and the rest of my group as been told under no uncertain terms that cursing you without your permission is strictly forbidden and those who ignore the rule will be severely punished." He said lightly, seemingly distracted by something.

Samson paused and looked the man over. "This may be a bit presumptuous but is there something on your mind?"

The smile faded and Yin Ning sighed "Yes, yes there is, as much as I would love to continue the pleasantries I think we should get down to business. Shall we walk?" he asked.

Samson kept himself under controls and didn't make any outward sign of his emotions, perhaps FINALLY they would be able to resolve the deal and he could return to the Clan lands, triumphant or not. "Yes I believe a walk shall do me well, please, lead the way."

Yin Ning didn't reply and simply set of at a sedated pace into the forest. They walked for perhaps an hour, passing the occasional ghost that were little more than vague outlines of a person, not even first Heaven Stage and it would be some time before they grew in power enough to threaten anyone. Samson walked slightly behind Yin Ning and their rear and flank were guarded by the Corpse Soldiers.

Finally they came to a clearing that had a creek running through it and had several rocks that could be used for seats. "Hmm, yes, this will do, far enough from the prying eyes and ears of my juniors and equals." Yin Ning said as he chose a rock to sit on, he motioned for Samson to join him.

Samson took him up on the offer and found a rock to sit on. "So, you wished to talk business?"

"I did say that didn't I? I must say you have been most generous with your giving of Gravebronze. While myself and the other Experts don't benefit from it it has been a great boon for our Juniors..." Yin Ning trailed off and looked at the creek, the sound of running water the only sound.

"...But?" Samson prompted.

"But...I am still hesitant, you ask much even if you offer much in return." Yin Ning finally responded after a few minutes.

Samson suppressed a sigh. "Do we not offer enough stones? Is the assistance insufficient? Please tell me wha-" He cut himself off and jumped up, feeling something approaching.

Yin Ning likewise rose in a combat stance, his Soldiers returning to his side in an instance. They stood in combat positions ready for whatever it was that was approaching.

"What is it?" Samson asked, he couldn't get a proper read on the Qi he was feeling.

"I am... unsure, its at the 7th pillar? No, Sixth-No it- I can't tell." Yin Ning replied nervously "Whatever it is we should be enough to deal with it." He said confidently, and it was true, his large number of Corpse Soldiers was enough even for some as strong as a 7th pillar.

So why did Samson still feel so nervous?

They stood for perhaps five minutes before the sounds of foot steps became audible. Another agonizing wait as it came into view, Samson struggled for a moment to understand what he was seeing. A... shambling pile of tattered black robes walked between the trees, it was perhaps 8 feet tall and moved sedately, seemingly without a care in the world.

Samson prepared himself for combat, but then he noticed the trees the figure walked passed were rapidly rotting away to nothing. He turned to Yin Ning mouth opened to warn him before some threshold was crossed by the robbed figure. Samson felt the energy flood out of his legs as he collapsed to the ground. His vision started to blur as Yin Ning was driven to his knees, an intense smell of rot filled the air and he felt sick, like he was on his death bed. As the figure got closer still the feelings intensified, he started coughing up blood and pus, his eyes widened as he saw his shinning skin started to tarnish and flake away like from a rotting corpse. He began to panic as realized whatever this was had to be in Core Formation.

"ELDER! PLEASE!" He distantly heard Yin Ning choke out a desperate plea. Elder? All of a sudden the worst of the feeling was gone, his skin stopped dying and his vision cleared up somewhat. He was still coughing up blood and pus however.

"My. Apologies. Junior. Yin. Ning." A slow, halting, wet voice answered. "Are. You. Well?"

"I- nnngh no honored elder I am not, neither is my guest." Samson managed to get his arms under him as Yin Ning continued the conversation. "Your aura is too much, why are you walking about the frost with it so loosely held?" He said, sounding quite upset at the apparent elder of the bandits.

"Again. Apologizes. My. Mind. Was. Elsewhere. I. See. I. Have. Caused. Damage. Here." The Elder held out a hand, likewise covered in multiple layers of...cloth?. Samson watched as two vials rose out of the hand as if it was water, definitely a artifact of some kind then. "These. Will. Help. Reverse. The. Damage. The. Other. Elders. Make. Me. Carry. Them."

"I can see why, thank you Honored Elder." Yin Ning quickly snatched the vials and instantly drank one, his own pale and flaking skin returned to normalcy. "You are lucky Samson, any other cultivator of your level would have been left much more injured by The Putrid One's presence, here, drink."

As Samson drank the vial his mind whirled, this was an elder of the Ghost Tree Forest Kings? It was an opportunity, even if it had started off the wrong foot. He wondered how he could use this to his advantage, he cursed that he was the one to be here and not another member of the clan who was more diplomatic.

"Yin. Ning. That. Corpse. Is. A. Jingshen. Scion?" The Putrid One asked, the vaguely head shaped lump on top of its vaguely shaped shoulders tilted in a disturbing angle, like there was no bones in its neck.

"Ah, yes Elder it is!" Yin Ning said flushing with some pride. "I killed them a few mon-" He was cut off as a tendril erupted from the Elders center mass, it skewered the Jingshen corpse soldier and quickly reeled it in. The body slammed into the Elders body and simply...sank in, like a pit of tar. Samson stared, completely at a loss as to how to handle this situation.

"AH!" Yin Ning cried out in surprise and dismay. "Elder why!" he said, sounding like a child who had their favorite toy taken from them.

"Foolish. To. Flaunt. Killing. A. Jingshen. So." The Putrid One said admonishingly... Samson thought, it was hard to tell from the tone of its voice as it was monotone.

"I-I understand Elder." Yin Ning's shoulders slummed as no doubt dozens of years of cultivation vanished into the Elder's mass.

The Putrid One slowly lumbered over to Yin Ning "That. Being. Said. You. No. Doubt. Invested. Much. Here." The Putrid one held out a hand, and half a dozen jet black pills 'floated' to the top.

Yin Ning's eyes boggled as he stared at the pills. "T-This! Elder! Thank you!" He said as he snatched the pills and bowed deeply. "I can replace the-"

"No." The Elder quickly cut him off, causing Yin Ning to flinch slightly. "You. Have. Been. Neglecting. Your. Own. Cultivation. The. Next. Time. I See. You. I. Expect. You. To. Be. At. Least. At. The. 5th. Pillar. Understand."

"Yes, Elder." Yin Ning said as he bowed again, admonished.

"Now. Who. Are. You?" Samson started slightly as the elder turned their attention to him.

"I-" He coughed again. "I am Samson Murus of the Golden Devils honored Elder." He quickly got to his feet and bowed deeply.

"A. Devil? Here? Why." The Elder asked, holding up a hand to stop Yin Ning to explain for him.

"I am here to negotiate the aid of Yin Ning and his group, to harass and disrupt the Jingshen, Elder." Samson said holding his deep bow.

"Ahhhhhh..." The Elder made a long, drawn out noise of comprehension. As if suddenly a large number of things came together and made sense. "I. see. Very. Well. I. Will. Not. Take. Up. More. Of. Your. Time. Good. Day." And just like that the Elder continued on their slow walk.

"Good day elder." Yin Ning said, bowing again as the figure vanished into the distance.

"G-Good day elder." Samson said a bit behind Yin Ning, his mind whirling. He shook his head to try and clear his vision, it worked somewhat.

As the figure moved past the both of them Samson let out a sigh and straightened, that had been terrifying. As he started picking off his dead skin, not even good for gravebronze, he saw the elders foot prints. They hand sunk nearly half a dozen inches into the soft soil, as if the Elder weighed an incredible amount, more than even an order of magnitude their height and bulk would account for, and that strange robe... Samson's head continued to spin at the strange encounter.

Yin Ning sighed "I apologize for that, are you well?" He said as he sat back down with a far away look on his face. "Where were we?"

Samson likewise sat down with a groan "I think th-" he was cut off once again.

"Oh. And. Yin. Ning?" They heard the elder call from the distance. "Be. Sure. To. Give. The. Devil's. Deal. Great. Consideration. I. Am. Sure. It. Will. Benefit. You. Greatly." And then they were gone.

Yin Ning slowly smiled as he turned back to Samson. "Well, I suppose that puts my worries to rest. Let us get down to the fine details shall we?"

Samson nodded, relief flooded through him, the sooner he returned to the clan holds the better. "Yes, lets." He breathed in- And sneezed at the strong smell of rot that still filled the air.

The Builder 13 - The Elders March. Part 2. The Logic of the Mad
Title: The Elders March. Part 2. The Logic of the Mad

Alternative Title: The brotherhood did choose The Minions' life.

Xxx

(Madness level: the builders)

Centurion Praesentinus Diogenus newest headache walked on. This madman was an incredible subordinate, able and capable of providing so much creature comfort, perform so many duties at once and did so while finish them fast and even made great reports, The little ones, not the book ones, still. This is the less crazy one in the entire brotherhood? Really? At last, he knows why he is called the 'dependable one'.

"Legionary the builder reporting for duty sir, I have the write reports here with me" the platina man said, with a single paper in one hand and a small book in another.

"Give me a verbal report, I want your feedback on this". He commanded.

"Yes sir, we are ahead by a week in the march schedule, we also gained 14 days of food and water; and 10 days' worth of a first heavenstage salary by doing some work in the city" this is what he was talking, this rabbit hole has no end. They reach the rock bottom and digger it deeper.

Massaging his temples, while the legionary waited, he look to his side at his, new, wardrobe…one that has an art of himself raising a spear and with what looks like a dead hunter on the ground to complete the scene, that art was life size, the crazy one got the message behind his, unspoken, command and walked to the wardrobe, opened a secret compartment were his now hides his alcohol, the mad man got one drink, and start adding herbs, honey and fresh milk to a glass; how them discovered that he like this combination with his drinks he has no idea, and he also don't want to know.

After drinking. He put his hands together and command the legionary once more, this time verbally.

"Report what else you crew is planning. What they already started first. Then speak to me what else they tried to do that you are holding back" yeah this is the thing, the number of crazy ideas that this poor bastard needs to listen and (try to) stop is absurd, no wonder he is also mad. Which is one more reason to always have less mad subordinate if he desires to have this crew add to his troops in the future.

"Another young master wants his sewer fixed; this one will pay more for mural art of his political enemies drowning in the area where the shit flows with the water. Said bonus would make for a significant payment on itself." Stuff like this.

"Continuing the report, the third brother had learned some new recipes from the local homeless, there a significant number of 'birds' "the mad one said while making air quotes "that, for some reason, people call instead of flying rats for think that they are true birds, these 'birds' …" making another air quote "…had been allowed to move freely on this city, seems like a dead for years now, core elder used to watch them. The reason why this happened changes from person to person. One says that the core elder was using those to easy his own dao from some heart demons from getting worse, another say that his got insights from those flying rats, some say that he had the dao of flying rat".

The platina green man waits, to see if was allowed to continue.

"Seems like that the flying rats are allowed, to this day, on his family garden where they still grown some strong herbs. Some of the herbs that the family sell in the market and in the black market are good even for 8th heaven stage cultivators" the rabbit hole has no end.

"We had report from the legionaries that some of the stronger stray cats can kill most of those, so called, birds. And we already know which birds to avoid. Because we watched the oldest felines actions and witness some of the young ones being slaughters, be dismembered then consumed to the last piece of fur" and this is the less insane brother.

Making a gesture to a refill, his soldier dutiful refill it. And waited.

"Call two of my personal assistances, you know who I am talking about" the green man nodded, walk to the door, open it and raise two fingers of his hand.

Say what you want of those mad ones. But they do try to help with everything they can. Like these new, and now essential, introduction to his way of command. More (mortal) scribbles for paperwork that can be delegate, (mortal) scholars that look for the even most minuscule of advances in the local laws and other matters, a (mortal) barman, among others. Like these two old ladies that are deaf and are great masseuses. The three (mad) people walked to his desk and wait further order that would never be spoken. There was a pulse of Qi from the builder neck. And the 'young' man continues to show that he was spectacular at reading body language and act/react to the will and wishes of his superiors. Which is a powerful tool in the cultivator world.

He starts to use hand sigh and translate what he was saying "Our Centurion wants something new, so close the windows, use the lamp array and the blue clothes to make this area a cozy blue to help our superior to relax. Burn one of incense in the box number four, while I prepare the tea." He starts moving to (new) tea set. Which was, another, show of madness inside madness that exist in the brotherhood, because that was made from 'bone porcelain'. Still the best damn set he ever had.

"Should I continue" the builder asked while the centurion moved to a portable bed, which was also the best he ever had while doing campaigns in other regions.

"Processed" he said.

He then continues with the hand gestures and translating. "Use your expertise, if you had any technique that you were keep as secret, then use them, the centurion also wishes you guys to focus on the back, feet and temples face. Still use your experience if that don't make sense or other area call for more attention." This is an amazing ability. They said the first builder could read people extremely well. Seems to be true if the second one plus the 'living will' can read his wishes to this degree.

The two, very old and muscular, ladies nodded, one start to throw peppers to the oil she was preparing the other went to his fireplace and put some ceramic balls close to the fire.

xxx

10 minutes later he had organized his thoughts, and while they continue to work, he continues to command the builder.

"This was a good find but is too good for us. I will report the birds matter to the higher ups. And with their direction we will see what we will do" he waits until the ladies finish a muscle knot. Shame that they can't handle more than 30 minutes of work on his steel like muscles. Maybe he will spare some stones if these two can/would use the damn things. 'Evil stones' ha! One more reason why they are crazy.

"There a change of using the living birds to get new seeds, using them as sources of intel and all kinds of things. This could very well be worth even a minute or two of our estimate cores elders" the mad man in the front of him nodded to that.

"Still, I sure you stopped some stupid ideas, share them all now that I relaxed" the green legionary paused, there were multiple exchange of QI of the 'young' man with the hidden gear that holds the previous (and certainly insane) builder.

Then an avalanche of crazy hit him. From giving 'doggos' to young masters, some bizarre plots and even the brotherhood 'stealing' some men and women into the night to marry. That one he allowed because they already paid the bride/groom price with the parents and the 'stealing' was either for showing off or because the bride/groom was into that.

Some of the new blood made sense since they could have or already have talent/skill/blood that some in their family had shown in the past. Other ones made less sense but that is madness for you.

But two of the especially crazy ideas either need more information or need to be stopped at all costs.

"Your brothers want to buy books and paper for what?! and offer to guide the damn blacksmiths?!?"

The man in front of him nodded. "There a intel coming from the front that some of the foundation establish and even a core elder in the, so called, 'noble' knowledge sect has a dao related to storage of knowledge" so far a sane line of thought "they have being besieged by many years and don't have many opportunities to trade" ok, this is already a little bid insane "so by getting books from these local, especially the ones less than useful in our lands would be something we would want to share"

"Then why only taking the ones from locals?" he interrupts the madman "Oh, I see, you want to weak the foundation of the damn blacksmiths? If so, this plan already has my blessing, but I want the list of all the books you guys want to get, but why the papers?" is horrible that this make a bit of sense.

"We also have a lot of laws books from the desert and for some reason, economical logs of the Jinshen, and their whole culture of their mortals. But the reason why we need paper is because we running out of those" by making too big reports?

"Because each member of the brotherhood to the last mortal member decide to share their more exotic finds that we believe are not of use for cultivators and that don't touch into golden devils' traditions and other information about our land" madness "someone had decided to bring porn from all factions, in this matter we got some kind of patron, most likely a core elder given the size of the contribution that he/she/it had send us. Enough porn to last a cultivator in Qi condensation a lifetime even reading every day from the moment he become a cultivator to his or her or their death. We only know that he/she/its symbol is a bull. We are unsure if this symbol is because the master that teach us five original brothers was a bull. Or some other kind of message". So much madness, and now there a change of us pleasing a core elder by doing their pranks? This is a blessing and a curse. And a ton of madness in a single idea.

To easy himself and to remember why he allow them to do all these mad things, He move to eat the homemade-like lunch that one of his assistances brought. Pork with herbs and honey? In the style of his hometown? Yeah, having the brotherhood as subordinates has lot of pros/cons.

After tasting the almost divine pork, he asked "and the guider matter".

Once more there was Qi being thrown back and forward by the two builders. The living one finally opened his mouth and said "We are unsure how the blacksmiths get the guiders for the waterfall, the consensus in the brotherhood is that our clan glorious leader, Old Gold, would not allow an opportunity like that being lost, but we are also unsure that if in 100 years the guilder return to the clan when the trials happens or if the blacksmith use all those stones to raise the guilders like pigs to be slaughter when they get, metaphorical speaking fat enough, to be use as gravebrozen of a higher grade. So, our oldest members thought to offer ourselves".

Well let's, try, and see the reasons of the mad for this idea. "Legionary, elaborate why you guys are offering yourselves for this work".

"Yes sir, we don't use stones so one of us could either use those for many plans. If they are forced to use those on themselves by the evil blacksmiths then those evil men will discover than the one of the problems with the builder style breathing is that we can't use stones while using the builder' art. And that we must wait in order to be able to use the spiritual stones once more after stopping using the special breathing, and the waiting time grows larger if the person had used our art for a longer period. Also, we are pretty sure that oaths made to the heaven by us can cause some impressive blowback from the heavens." How is that connected to the breathing arts?! They are truly mad "So, the ideal candidate is someone that is weak, old, can kill themselves fast either by heaven blowbacks or by something else like following a, incomplete, lesson that the first builder shared with us"

Putting the empty plate to the side and putting his head on the table "you know what, I will ask the core elder, about the guilder matter" without waiting his subordinate reaction he continues "now give me the list with the candidates" that made the builder blink. Ha! I know you guys enough to know that you have multiple volunteers.

"Well, here is the list" a list with more than 20 people. Wait, did he just inform me about the names of all these brothers? I am aware that this a big deal.

"The one we favor the most for the position is the first one in the list, brother 40th, she has very sharp ears, hold no secret in her personal life other than her own name, fulfill each contract that she does to the letter, has little change of growing by using our methods but had done so for more than 20 years, had used the enhanced method that the clan share with the new recruits and, once more I should comment that, like many in the brotherhood, consider her name a secret. So, if for some bizarre reason our Might Leader, Old Gold, wish to focus on her. He could do so while wasting even less of his time". The worse part is that it made sense. Was he going insane too?

Xxx

After some days and enduring even more madness from these workaholic subordinates. Centurion Praesentinus Diogenus called the 'dependable one' to his officer. Which was part of an even greater building. The only bad thing that he could add to these new constructions is that they now are on the style favored by the damn blacksmiths. Because that sells for a higher price to those damn invaders. And he like taking their coin more than he hate the style.

When the builder arrived. The Centurion throwed a piece of paper. And start to walk to his new mirror.

While the mad one read the paper and waited futher commands. Diogenus was look at himself in the mirror that was made of low-quality platina and decorated with 'bone porcelain'. Watching his own, tired, face. And his own brighter eyes. Yes, a bit of energy is a good price to get the recommendation that he got from the elder and the bonus to this year salary.

"Legionary, you will represent the clan with the scions in the secret realm" he started "show that paper in the treasury to get your token" he continues while moving the mirror to get the secret compartment that was in the back of mirror.

Looking at the small array bag that contains some of his best tea. Which was also a tool and an idea that no commander should ever be without when they don't cook their own food. And even if they do so they should continue to have. An antidote. The 100 years tea leaves to be precise. A tea so strong that could remove a lot of impurities. Which, sadly enough, was less than useful for cultivation at his level of power at this point. He then throws the bag at the platina man.

"And take this treasure that can save you from dying from poisoning and other effects that can enter your body" the builder was about to speak but stopped himself. Good. Still is better to reinforce the message.

"You will use that tea one way or another. Because that could also be used to cultivate. And I command you, my legionary, to use that on yourself when you leave that secret realm. I command you to use it if you are in danger and that could help. And I command you to only use in a scion of our clan if they would die otherwise. To not try to go beyond my words or twist the meaning, accept that. Internalize that. And come back to my command alive. Did you understand?

"Yes sir" said the builder while the dead one sends a Qi pulse that he had associated with yes.

Good. Subordinates like these are hard enough to find. Plus, the envy of the other Centurions is worth a little bit of madness. Those last meets in the higher command had being such a treat.

-[x] Kleisthenes - War - Work with Lady Yao to Assassinate or Subvert the Jingshen Nascent Soul candidates and steal their Nascent Soul Tribulation treasures. Ensure that a third Jingshen Nascent Soul does not arise, let alone a fourth.

[X] Plan: Altar Lord's Last Chance
-[X]-"I am threading the eye of a needle, Ai'er. I am standing on a sinking ship aflame, standing in the last place of safety as I attempt to finish a great work left before me. But the ship is sinking, and time is rapidly running out. We must buy a little more time and space."
-[X] Manuel has divined that The Last Altar Lord is planning something big. He's desperately scrabbling for just a little more time to play his final card. The crowning achievement of his entire life. Altar Lord does not care for power, he simply took it because it was necessary for this very blow against Heaven, this final act. While we abhor his methods, we have a mutual enemy. We will not help the Righteous Path gain enough slack to crush the culmination of his dream that we share.
-[X] Jin Muyi was a fallen hero of the Clan, a victim of his own techniques
-[X] A tragic man with a tragic fate and a tragic ending will leave a tragic memory.
    -[x] Don't
-[X] We will not give Heaven the slack required to remove the rebellion. We will not assist the Righteous Path to end the war that protects us.
-[X] War (Jingshen) - Simply invade. Strike with all your might and seize territory. Kill cultivators. Requires your personal attention to prevent Nascent Souls simply obliterating your forces. Uses your personal Action for the turn.

    -[X] It is time.
-[X] Kleisthenes - Work with Lady Yao to assassinate or subvert the Jingshen Nascent Soul candidates and steal their Nascent Soul Tribulation treasures.
-[X] The treasures Jingshen hold could catapult us to among the strongest powers immediately, protecting us from easy retaliation. We cannot allow Jingshen to user them first.

-[X] War (Jingshen) - You are as ever a loyal ally. The Flood Dragon Gang has called upon you to help them repay the insult made by Jingshen personally to Lady Yao. You march with the Gang to demand a reckoning and force out the Jingshen Nascents.

[X] Plan: The most important part of any summary execution is to remember to have fun and be yourself
-[X] Jin Muyi was a fallen hero of the Clan, a victim of his own techniques
--[X] Alas, for Jin Muyi a beloved hero of the Clan has fallen to the blood path in his lust for power and had to be struck down, he was tricked into being overcome by a blood path legacy by the scheming Jingshen who have been revealed to be blood path users
-[X] Send the Clan's best Array-Engineers as well as several Legions south from the Great Battlefield to the Verdant South
--[X] Given how we and the Strength Purity Sect have such an eternal friendship we will of course aid them against the vile blood path. Though times may be hard, together we stand against the demonic forces of the blood path.
    -[X] War - Jingshen
--[X] The foul Jingshen have gone too far, they have assaulted the beautiful righteous Yao Zhihao with intent to murder her and consume her flesh using the vile blood path, they even used one of their secret blood path legacies to corrupt our beloved hero Jin Muyi. In hindsight we should have know that the Jingshen were blood path users from how they go about slaughtering mortals. Still it is to late to change the past all that remains in front of us in justice found in their summary execution.

-[X] Muster troops on the Jingshen border, find a suitable stronghold and charge Destasia with the highest of heresy: the construction of a mind-tunnelling array, with the objective to help Manuel focus the shadow of heaven's will through OJ's hat and pull secrets straight out of his head. We will then spread the details of this top secret project to literally anyone who will listen.
-[X] While they wait for a response, Manuel will teach Yao and Klei the advanced topics of NS combat after that poor performance against Jiao.

Year 220 - Divine Blood Saber
Hu Ai frowned, perfect lips dipping downwards.

She did not care for Sun Diaxing.

He had looked at her when they first met, eyes appraising. Some men had looked at her like a side of meat - for more than one reason in her life, others had attempted to appraise her as you would a worthy servant. All of them looking for something.

Sun Diaxing was appraising, but she could not tell what for.

After a few moments he grunted, seemingly satisfied.

"You'll do."

With that, he gestured her to follow, flying off to the south.

As they flew, he spoke.

"Girl, do you know why you were sent south?"

She shook her head mutely, thinking. Did he want to eat her? No, why bother sending her south then.

"Neither do I, and it bothers me. The most powerful Blood Path Nascent wants to send his apprentice to me, well, that's another Nascent Soul and a favor, I'd be a fool to refuse. Why, though? I've never been able to fully fathom him. I have my notions, but would you care to tell me what you think?"

She shook her head again.

"I'd prefer not to give information on him to you."

He grinned, then, a plain facing lighting up.

"At least you know how to show loyalty. You probably have it, too, though who knows if it'll last. Let me tell you what I think. He's losing his war up there, so he's doing the smart thing. The Demonic Altar probably still possesses all of its core strength - most of its Elders, a good chunk of the Experts, and all the Nascent Souls. It can still fight for a time, and realistically as long as they continue raiding and seizing Righteous Elders they can sustain themselves for sixty or seventy years while the mortal population replenishes itself. Provided they're not under a siege they can't escape, of course. So if there's one more Nascent to feed, that's a disadvantage. One more Nascent in the south wreaking havoc and forcing the Righteous Path to focus here, that's an advantage. Still, both my students are in the north right now as it so happens, using their knowledge to expand the Poison Maze. That distraction alone will permanently reduce the Nascent Souls who can strike at us by three or four despite the risks."

She had thought as much herself, though she didn't say so.

"Still, I think the other truth is this. Altar Lord is some inscrutable old monster who is notorious only for the fact that his subordinates tend to die much more commonly than mine ever did. He doesn't know how to teach you. Oh, he can probably enlighten you on the Dao, but on survival? On growth? I am far better placed to teach you."

He looked over at her, coming to stop mid-air.

"If you bow and acknowledge me as your teacher, girl, I'll teach you something of worth right now."

She hesitated.

"But-"

"Teacher, not master. I'm not asking you to be my direct disciple. A single kowtow is all I ask."

She bowed midair, and stood rapidly.

He smiled, the grin growing wider. His teeth, she noted, were filed down to points.

"Good. Call me Sun Laoshi from now on. As for the lesson... War is a complicated matter. There are three sets of relationships to consider. The power differential between you and your enemies. The bonds between your enemies. And the bonds between you and your allies and vassals. The first can be overcome by manipulating the latter two in many cases. Some decades ago, I promised my two students I'd help them rise to Mid Nascent Soul."

Her eyes flickered in surprise. But that would mean-

"Yes," he said, having somehow heard her reply before she spoke it.

"That would mean they would have a fair chance of killing me."

"Then why...", her voice trailed off.

"As quiet as you are girl, I thought you might have understood it already. I never said I'd let them be equal in power to me. I merely said I'd let them rise into Mid Nascent Soul."

She stopped, surprised.

"Over the past twenty years I have personally killed perhaps twenty or thirty million mortals. My own Blood Clones, reduced to mere Qi Condensation strength, played the part of inscribing the... results."

They flew further south.

"Old Fish was in the north, previously. Two years ago I struck into the Noble Koi Palace with a clone who took the form of one of their Elders. Delightful moment, though it only lasted a little longer than that, laced with Xinyue's poisons as it was. Eighteen Core Formation elders dead, and Old Fish was forced to return here. I then sent a messenger north to Altar Lord, stating that the favor had been paid. The poor boy was captured and killed by the Strength Purity Sect, and so they assumed I was repaying some favour from your master, drawing Old Fish back."

Diaxing sighed.

"The problem with being invincible and unchallenged most of the time is that it is so difficult to change your frame of mind. Especially for Nascent Souls of the Righteous Path - they've won their battles for so long that they didn't really consider if loss was an option. Consequentially they squabbled with one another, forcing losses on their rivals to jockey for position in their long-anticipated victory. They couldn't possibly lose, so why not force your rivals into weakness in a way you could not in peacetime?"

He pointed to the west.

"Heavenly Pearl City was home to thirteen million people. I killed them all, and etched the first part of an array in their blood there. Even now, the raw power restrained there is sufficient to kill a Nascent Soul outright."

Hu Ai felt horror rise in her. Thirteen million dead to win a battle. Not even to survive, just as a tool. A weapon. She shook her head. Her master would have done such a thing if it were necessary.

"Old- Sun Laoshi, you are aiming to kill a Nascent Soul?"

His smile stopped.

"Think. I have given you all the clues needed to solve this. I understand you are far less experienced than others, but you must reason this out for yourself. Sit and watch."

He clicked his fingers, and threw a massive wave of force to the south, the city surrounding the Koi Palace shuddering. Again, and again, and again he struck at it. For twenty minutes, then an hour, then twelve. As time ran on, Hu Ai had realised what he was doing. But how?

Old Fish stood in the sky before them suddenly, faster than Hu Ai could follow. Behind him stood a fierce-faced man wielding a massive saber, almost twice the length of his own body.

He snarled.

"Sun Diaxing, you'll pay for this monstrosity. All the people you've killed... all the horror you've wrought. You'll pay for every bit of it. If you wanted me to return from the north, so be it. Die."

The saber-wielding man struck, and the sun that had set blazed brightly in the sky, fire and majesty boiling forth towards Old Cannibal. It scorched through his arm, burning it off. Old Fish sliced down with an axe studded with peculiar blue crystals, and Old Cannibal barely avoided it. A moment after losing his arm he turned and fled, running towards Heavenly Pearl City.

They both ignored her, curiously enough. They seemed to wonder if she would interfere, but as she failed to give chase, they did not bother to turn around.

She followed along from a distance, close enough to watch, close enough to use her arts to hear the words. Not close enough to fight easily.

Sun Diaxing had lost another arm, and a foot besides. He flew desperately, ungainly, into the city, plummeting down to hide.

Old Fish spat.

"You think I wouldn't find out your two whores were in the north? You think you can simply send them to expand the Poison Maze without retribution? The Righteous Path will not be played for fools. Your little... rampage ends here."

He brought the axe down. As Sun Diaxing's neck was sliced off, the body simply dissolved, a Blood Clone disappearing into nothingness.

Another Sun Diaxing stood in the sky above them, a pulsing blood-red saber in his hand.

"Yes", he said. "Let's speak on retribution."

He smiled, and whispered a phrase, barely audible.

""Seven cities become seven sabers, seven sabers in the service of blood, hating all else. Let the saber drink its fill. Divine Qi-Crushing Blood Saber."

The saber in his hand shattered into seven, and the air filled with misty blood.

The two other Nascent Souls hung there like wasps in amber, and Sun Diaxing moved along with ease. After a moment, Old Fish struggled and his eyes bulged, and a scale on his face appeared and shattered instantly. With it, he disappeared, teleported away. The fierce-looking man had a smaller saber on his waist the size of a token glow with bright white for a moment, and do nothing.

Diaxing flew down to the fierce-looking man.

"Ah, Elder Zhao. Did you know we've never met face to face before this?"

The Grand Elder of Sun simply struggled, unable to move more than an inch.

Old Cannibal chuckled.

"One hundred and fifty years ago, you corrupted my beloved apprentice. Almost a son, really. Gave him the tools to rise against me and then turned him against me. When I killed him and gave his corpse to my worst enemy, I honestly considered ending my own life. Consuming myself into nothingness, as it were."

He tapped his fingers on his cheek.

"I should kill you now to prevent you escaping, but I think the satisfaction is worth the risk."

His hand shot forward, and fingernails sharpened to talons tore a chunk of skin off the fierce-looking man's face. Old Cannibal bit into it, swallowing it down and smacking his lips together before continuing.

"But I did not. There was still Konstantinos, and his death I desired more than anything. More than the pain, more than the misery of losing the boy who had meant everything to me. I failed in that, as I failed in everything I had done in my life. My Sect, my beloved disciple, my enemy. All my tasks left undone. But then I saw new purpose as a teacher, to grow each sapling as high as it could, to consume more of the world alongside me as I sought divinity."

His fingernail jabbed at Elder Zhao's face, and pulled out an eyeball. He put it before his lips, his tongue darting out to pull it into his mouth. He bit down until he felt a pop, smiling with satisfaction as he swallowed.

"Ten years ago I raided your Saber Palace. And I found the most absurd thing. All of your treasures... all of them, as far as I could tell, link to the Saber Qi of your Divine Saber. Part of how you establish your tombs. An incredibly powerful treasure, true, but it can be... interfered with if you know how. You would of course need an array designed by one of the great masters of the Saber Qi of the Divine Saber, as well as a spy on the inside attuned to said Qi to let my array work at the opportune moment. Each of these sabers drastically weakens the use of all non-Blood Qi within its radius, and more importantly prevents any fragment of the Divine Saber's power leaking through here."

He chuckled.

"I never used to make plans like this. They failed in humiliating fashion every time. You cannot imagine how gratifying this is for me."

He brought his hand up to cup Elder Zhao's face. The other Mid Nascent Soul squirmed and struggled a little, but was barely able to move at all. A tiny saber-token at his waist constantly pulsed with white light, but did nothing.

"The idiocy of your defensive measures aside, let this serve as a lesson. You killed my boy. I will butcher every single Saber Palace disciple until your name is nothing more than words on the wind spoken by those who fear me hearing them. Retribution has come for you."

He turned his head and spoke.

"Do you see the lesson, student?"

Hu Ai saw it.

"I never said I'd let them be equal in power to me. I merely said I'd let them rise into Mid Nascent Soul"

Old Cannibal begun to eat.

Hours later, the power pulsed from him - massive, overbearing, terrifying.

Old Cannibal walked towards her cheerfully, the Virtuous Flipper Region's third Late Nascent Soul smiling all the while.

I really love the idea that Old Cannibal's history of regularly being defeated in battles of strategy and deception with Konstantinos has essentially acted as training that now gives him a vast advantage over the Nascent Souls in the rest of the Virtuous Flipper Region.

Konstantinos forced him to think in plans within plans, the elders here barely have a single plan.

Is it just me or could a sufficiently paranoid mind come to believe that everything that happened is a Konstantinos plot? The Old Cannibal could have been used as a tool take revenge on the Divine Sabers for their past history of attacks on the Golden Devils and a proactive means of preventing them from turning the Righteous Path against the Golden Devils after the current war ends. His actions would further benefit the Golden Devils by prolonging the war long enough for them to conquer the Jingshen and generally weakening the Righteous Path factions in the South.

This perspective would indicate that the "training" Old Cannibal received through his conflict with Konstantinos was carefully manipulated so as to give him an advantage over the traditional Righteous Path Nascent Souls while being impossible to turn back against Konstantinos.

I understand that our perspective shows that this idea is nothing but unfounded paranoia, but it would make some sense for Old Cannibal to believe it given the tremendous respect he has for Konstantinos's capacity for manipulation and the way that having to accept near complete defeat in his homeland seems to have stripped away his pride.
