Very well done! Though Taylor's a bit too open regarding the Wards, if this were sometime after the Singularity during the proverbial off-season I could see it happening.
That is a massive misunderstanding if I've ever seen one."Someone like you, who has never accomplished anything with his own strength, who has always borrowed the strength of others greater than yourself, what do you know of the pride carried by a hero who clawed her way to the top through sheer determination?"
Yeah I got nothing. This boy, so strange and yet so familiar at the same time, came to hate her for it, too.
Huh surprised at the lack of spandex. Then again Aife honestly seems to be far more no nonsense compared to Scáthach, Cu or any of the other Celts.
Could you tag this as "Media"? Other readers might enjoy have a bookmark to show what Aife looks like.
Would that the specter was real instead of a figment of her imagination. Tiberius may in fact wind up being the greatest threat she faced in this Singularity, and she would have relished a challenge, just then.
But she was not. Scáthach still remained behind in the Land of Shadows, warden of its gates, still carrying the burden for which Aífe had been passed over. She would not be making any miraculous appearances here.
Cu: *Grabs his junk*
"This? This is how me and your ma flirt, kiddo. Lemme tell you about how we met sometime."Cu: *Grabs his junk*
Aife: *Punts Cu through a wall with a kick to his junk*
Cu: *Limps back through the hole in the wall with a dozen roses and a box of chocolates* "Despite the injuries, I have the strangest boner right now."
Connla: "Ew. I didn't need to know that, dad."
That's slightly incorrect. One of the Chicago Wards died during Endbringer fight (afair Tohu and Bohu). They fought a lot, went to most Endbringer battles, and only one died - good result. But not perfect."Because they survived. Even when the city was falling around them, and we were outnumbered and outgunned, all of them lived. They went on to become legends of their own making."

I'm assuming this was Taylor being a mentor to Golem? I have never read the original Worm, only fanfics, so I only have passing knowledge of this event. Hang on, lemme cook something up real quick. Sorry for any inaccuracies!
It was pretty good but this line seemed off. I'd be very surprised if Taylor didn't know where the name Golem came from and why Theo choose it."That's where it was from? Neat. But yes, that was the name given to him in lieu of his real name to hide his identity."
She does know. From Drone 23.5, when they're first introduced:It was pretty good but this line seemed off. I'd be very surprised if Taylor didn't know where the name Golem came from and why Theo choose it.
That said, @CorEagle, considering that you never read Worm, that was quite well done! Some inaccuracies in tone and fact, but that's to be expected. In case you're interested, you can read the training scene the dream was based on in the first part of Interlude 26b. It's a good scene.Drone 23.5 said:"Golem," the last one said, his voice muffled by his helmet.
I frowned behind my mask, perplexed. "You named yourself after the little bastard from The Lord-"
"No," he said. I could hear him sigh from behind his helmet. "I'm thinking of changing it."
If not from the trilogy, then… I fixed the pronunciation, compensating for how his muffled voice had modified it. Right. Golem, from the myth.
"I get it, nevermind. Listen, we're going to move out, and you're going to explain your powers en route. You know who I am?"
golem actually chose his name to spite his dad, kaiser, went with golem to spite the nazi's, pretty chad of him. there's an entire scene where taylor learns about it i think in the behemoth attack in india. she'd know. also the reason he became a hero was less because he wanted to, and more because he had to, granted he eventually became a genuinely heroic individual later on who wanted to do good, but it was started mostly cause jack and him had a thing where they had a planned out death match at some point, so golem decided that he'd want best possible odds for that, dude's genuinely good, but it wasn't the main reason he started his journey basically. besides his start at heroism and taylors knowledge of his name it was pretty good i think"Golem? As in, those animated statues from Jewish folklore, Miss Taylor?"
"That's where it was from? Neat. But yes, that was the name given to him in lieu of his real name to hide his identity."
Me.
I tried to mimic Takeuchi's style, at least for the lineart. The thing about Takeuchi's characters? They all have sameface syndrome, especially the older, pre-Mahoyo characters, where there's a face template for male and female and the rest is skin tones and different hairstyles. These days, you can really tell how much he's evolved as an artist, but he still has to make the old characters recognizable in their original stylings, so saying Aife is a Taigaface is basically like saying, "So, she looks like every other female character Takeuchi has ever drawn, but with a Taiga-like hairstyle."Huh. Aife is a Taigaface. Not perfectly, she's got the wrong color eyes, and her chin is pointier, but other than that... it's remarkably similar.

Her current image would actually be equivalent to Stage 2 Ascension in FGO. Stage 1 strips off the pauldron, the vest, and the...I think they'd be be called "chaps?" on her legs. I haven't thought much about what she'd look like at Stage 3.For my own curiosity (and apologies if it was already asked and answered before): For Aife Ascension, is she of the "more cloth" or "less cloth" camp? Her sister is technically the "more" camp as she gained stuff. Emiya is "both." Saber Alter/Lily would both be "less."
So…?
Edit: I forgot the "transition" camp, where they don't really lose or gain, but design wise things changed. Like Saberlot.
Maybe throw on a cloak and change the glove colors? lengthen the hair like Jalter does for her third? You genuinely could do almost anything. Her current image would actually be equivalent to Stage 2 Ascension in FGO. Much appreciate the visual aid for Aife.
But what class is Summer Aife? I'm guessing Ruler? It's summertime, and that means it's time to put on your swimsuits and have fun in the sun
Unlock | Description |
---|---|
Default | The noble queen of warriors, sister and rival to Scáthach, taking a moment in the sun to relax. Free of all concerns and responsibilities, she is able to breathe a sigh of relief and let go to enjoy these few short months of summer. Or that's the way it should be. However, it isn't possible for someone to deny their own nature so thoroughly. Although she should be less intense and far less stern in this form, she cannot help herself, and in spite of the very nature of a vacation, she winds up taking control of the situation and commanding those around her. As expected, even in her downtime, a queen is still a queen, after all. Whether it is a battlefield, a castle, or a beach, that much cannot change, no matter what. |
Bond 1 | Height/Weight: 165cm ・ 53kg Source: Celtic Mythology Region: Ireland Alignment: Neutral Good Gender: Female Of course, there is nothing to be ashamed of. This body that I earned through endless hard work is in no way inferior to my sister's. |
Bond 2 | To dedicate herself to nothing of consequence for the duration of the Summer, Aífe decided to don a fetching swimsuit and spend her days relaxing on the beach. It had absolutely nothing to do with Scáthach. There was no competition involved at all. Anyone who says otherwise is mistaken and should not be believed. This should be a time of vacation and fun, and yet, in spite of her intentions, somehow, Aífe remains only slightly less serious a person than she usually is. Although she doesn't stress as much, she remains prone to bossing others around and taking control of the plans to ensure they are exacted to her satisfaction. Even a vacation is something that must be done to her own standards and is treated as a challenge to overcome. It seems it's impossible to convince this hardass to truly take a break. |
Bond 3 | Critical Gaze : B The gaze of someone with an eye for quality. Or rather, the gaze of someone always measuring her worth against another. Aífe is possessed of a competitive spirit. To her, even the most trivial of pursuits might be considered a competition, no matter how small or insignificant. With eyes that always seek out others, she measures the capacity of those who seek to challenge her, and without mercy, compassion, or cruelty, judges them entirely on their merits. In this form, she's just self-consciously comparing herself to other women. Even if she is already peerless, she can't help but look for areas of self-improvement where she might be lacking. |
Bond 4 | Beach Queen: A++ One who rules the beach. Gathering attention to oneself, gathering devotion to oneself, gathering admiration to oneself, and wielding all of them to command those around her. As the one who stands out as "most beautiful" on the beach, embodying the ideal form of the swimsuit, she "rules" the beach in the strictest sense. Those who gather around her to admire and devote themselves to her readily accept any orders she gives and hurry to fulfill any requests, all for the chance to receive even the slightest hint of her smile. Rather than something acquired through effort and work, it is a natural consequence of her own charm and personality. Even those whose forms might be considered more desirable pale in comparison to the majesty that she exudes as a matter of course. |
Bond 5 | Stone that Cleaves the Waves Rank: A+ Type: Anti-Army Range: 10 - 30 Maximum Targets: 1 Thunder Feat. The ultimate technique of the Celtic martial arts. It carries many forms and may be used through multiple methods. However, in this form, it is nothing more than a smooth stone that Aífe happened to find and admire in its simplicity. By casting the stone just right, it is possible to cause it to "skip" along the surface of the water. Different from normal, however, the strength behind this throw is also sufficient to part the waves and cleave a pathway through the sea. Naturally, were such a thing to hit a person, the results would invariably be fatal. |
Extra | At least from Aífe's perspective, the two sisters are eternal rivals, forever destined to compare themselves to each other and try to overcome the other. It is their fate that they will always be at odds, no matter whether it is a matter of feats of arms or an eating competition or something as simple as looks. Naturally, when Aífe saw Scáthach lounging about in a swimsuit, her competitive instincts were aroused and she decided that she would not be outdone in either sense. Therefore, she set about and acquired a swimsuit that she felt was superior to the one Scáthach wore, and used the opportunity of the Summer vacation to show it off. She was also determined to have more fun than Scáthach, by whatever means necessary, and enjoy her vacation more. What's the point of that, you ask? Well, there isn't one, really. The only one who feels there is something to prove is Aífe herself. |
