I won't answer completely here, but I will say that I'm going to have some focus on the logistics of the situation Chaldea is in as we go. We're not going to be waiting until chapter fifty or whatever to get her long term Servant, but Chaldea has to think about their power consumption, so they won't just start summoning Servants as soon as Singularity F is done and dusted, and they won't be willing or able to support a large cabal of Servants immediately.Very fun chapter, and it went down pretty much exactly how I figured it would, excepting that I thought we'd at least begin the fight against EMIYA, but ending here isn't bad either as it wasn't as bad a cliffhanger. Still really wish I could hibernate the week away with a flick of a mental switch though.
Question for you @James D. Fawkes, will Taylor be summoning her permanent Servant once they return to Chaldea after this Singularity or are you planning on doing it sometime else? Feel free to "RAFO" me if you feel you must, I'm merely curious.
2 years actually. She's 20. GM started late June 2013, just after she turned 18. The Grand Order started July 30th, 2015. So she's only 20, so still not legal to drink in the US. Not that she'd care about such things as petty as a law if she wanted to drink. Though she wouldn't drink if it was a bad time like when she was on a mission, and possibly never if her mother died to a drunk diver.
Gilgamesh Caster informs the returning Mash and Ritsuka that they don't really understand what fixing the Singularities does for History.Gil pretty much smashes the theory that Ritsuka and Mash had been operating on up to this point, which is that fixing a Singularity is a magical cure-all that restores people who died during it back to life.In Reality that is absolutely not the case, the people who died in the singularities are still very much dead even after they fixed it (like the village in the mountains in Camelot or the crews on the ships in Okeanos). The only difference is that when every singularity is fixed that the memories of what caused those deaths will match events to fit people's normal, so no massive War in America between Lion-headed Inventors and Celts for example they'll have just died in the War of Independence. Needless to say that Mash and Ritsuka are horrified and nearly become despondent at that point before Gil says that even here in Bablyonia where thousands have already died and will stay dead they have made a massive difference just with their presence. He had predicted (with his Clairvoyance EX) that only 10 or so (some really small number) people would survive the end of the singularity, but now it's up to around 300 or so survivors and that is solely due to their efforts.
My headcanon is that Ritsuka is secretly Ranma Saotome's child. They inherited their dad's curse, but in them it stabilized into an innate talent, activating at will instead of by the external water trigger. It also changes their clothes to be appropriate to their form.
How old are they supposed to be? Because at least one version of his legend has Cu dying at seventeen and he did not live that long regardless."You're a little too young for me, Little Missy, don't worry. You're safe from this horny old guard dog."
Based on how scion and the shards work even in a fate fusion there should really only be one of him and as Khepri Taylor was a step away from omniscience. If there was servants showing up after QA had her limiters broken they would have been noticed and depending on power interactions controlled.Everyone's talking about Gilgamesh's reaction to Taylor... But what about the more imminent EMIYA reaction? Across his countless deployments, you mean to tell me that he's never seen a Taylor killing Scion? Sure, the event would be somewhat rare for him, but I highly doubt that he'd forget the birth of both a Beast (in this fic) and a Grand Servant (More a possibility, but highly likely.)
Huh. Yeah in retrospect it's entirely possible that the reason that Taylor's earlier attempt at summoning a servant failed was not because she would be summoning herself, but because she would be summoning EMIYA and he's already in this singularity. Their early backstories are scarily similar, the major difference being how they ended up. One killing a godling and the other ultimately failing his life goal. Although even then they both ended up regretting the path the ultimately chose and would probably undo or do it differently given the chance. In other words, he sounded a lot like me. Leveraging whatever advantage you had, attacking weak points, using tricks and traps to catch the enemy off guard — that was the sort of thing I had done, back when I had my powers. Harder to do now.
Yeah, that could work, relationship-wise, but DK Nobu will implode Taylor like Herakles with a juice box the moment they are summoned, without Chaldea's reactors playing backup. Plus, DK Nobu is op, plz nerf.Honestly, I think the best fit for Taylor's Servant is Avenger Oda Nobunaga / Kippoushi / Demon King Nobunaga. They share many interesting parallels, and personality-wise also complement each other.
Well to use the same analogy, I thought it was more like both the Mac and the PC were tying to use the same IP address. Mostly I based that off the whole deal about whether a particular servant came from chaldea or not (particularly the china punch monk guy) from the latest eng GUDAGUDA event.I mean that's possible, but I think it's entirely unlikely and absolutely not what happened. Taylor was trying to summon via the FATE System (Chaldea) not the Greater Grail's System (Fuyuki). It shouldn't matter that EMIYA was in the singularity as it wouldn't bother checking a completely different system to make sure it didn't summon the same Servant. It's like having a brand new Mac and an older PC next to each other but not connected in any way and assuming that the new Mac would check the PC to make sure Firefox wasn't already installed when it tried to install it. Why would it care or even do that?
I suffered. Badly. Got Gramps without much trouble, but the GSSR gave me a third Raikou instead of anything I wanted (this, after the NY GSSR gave me NP3 Proto Arthur). Have been doing a bit better lately, so I spent a little on Ridervinci, then tossed the super generous Google Play gift card I got recently that I was thinking of saving for Summer 4 and Summer Musashi...
I got a new job at GM.I hope all the other Americans in the thread had a better Independence Day weekend than I did.
My condolences on your bad GSSR and extended roll luck. I somehow managed to get two copies of MHX on GSSR when I was hoping for...probably anything else TBH. And I threw 120 quartz at the Da Vinci banner under the rationale of, "sure I'll throw a roll her way, why not," and paid dearly for my hubris when I started hate pulling. The moral of the story is don't pull when you're getting pissed that your rolls are bad, because it just gets worseI suffered. Badly. It was just like my Enkidu rolls. Did the math, 1133 SQ, no SSR Servants in there anywhere, and I got spooked by just about every SR Rider in the game. Plus Astraea, who dropped super casually after she gave me so much trouble during the Case Files banner.
So I decided, fuck it, I'm abandoning everything else, I'm gonna forget about Summer 3 Rerun, Summer 4, and every other banner between now and October. NP5 Spishtar is going to be my future proofing for Castoria.
That out of the way...
My uncle tried to pop a wheelie on one of his dirtbikes yesterday and apparently broke three vertebrae in the attempt. Because he thought he was a much younger man than he is, I guess. Fuck if I know.

I hope your grandfather heals up ok, as for my fourth, I ate some steak, and watched the neighbors light off fireworks, thankfully everyone ran out of ammo before 10 so I was able to sleep easy.I hope all the other Americans in the thread had a better Independence Day weekend than I did.

Managed my GSSR roll slightly better, but that may have just been because I had no real expectations going into it. Sure, I wouldn't have minded getting Beni-emma or Sigurd, but honestly a second Hokusai -- after, what? A year and a half stuck on NP1, and thus at the mercy of NP-draining enemies? -- isn't half-bad for a consolation prize. My condolences on your bad GSSR and extended roll luck. The only really noteworthy and positive thing for all of this were a Zerklante spook and being one step closer to a MLB black grail.
