You nod, and begin to play the reco-

"EXPLOSIVES DETECTED!" The Arbalest suddenly screams in a synthesized voice. "ENGAGING COUNTERMEASURES!"
Can you please stop tossing what we vote out the window? It's starting to annoy me and it's a bad habit.
Uh... They got bombs for last minute suicide/FUCK YOU gesture guuiiizzzz!
Didn't the Arbalest's EMP blast render those bombs useless?
Yes, both are destroyed.
So he's worthless in combat now? Come to think of it, does Dauntless' power scale with the quality of the item? If so, does that mean that mean his Federation armor will get better faster than his old armor?

So he's worthless in combat now?
From what I can tell, the uber-destructiveness/lethality of this quest's power level renders Dauntless uniquely useless; he needed months (possibly years, I'm not clear on that right now) of work to make those two gadgets, and they were both largely useless against the threats he's now facing and got mulched in one fight.

PS: @Always Late, I'd like to apologize for my... well, my assholish post a few days ago. It was out of line and I should have just kept quiet. I'll be afk for the rest of the week, so I'd like to try and put this to rest before I have to leave.

No wonder he feels so useless! If he actually went out and stopped small crime in the Bay on a semi-regular basis before hand I'd feel sorry for him.

...Why do I get the feeling that Samus will tell Dauntless he's useless without really thinking about it?

I have to question this choice. Panacea might have a melee-range power, but she is very reluctant in using in offense. Not to mention that she has little or no close-combat and firearms training.

I think that suit should be on Velocity instead. His breaker/mover state would allow him to keep up with Samus and the pirates, use hit-and-run tactics with the fed blaster, and carry off any injured team mates back inside the shield where Panacea can heal them.
Use cluster missiles until you run out, then use Wave Beams.
Just want to note that the Arbalest should be able to refill Samus' missiles.

Hm. I'm a bit worried that moving them could do damage to the brain that Panacea won't heal. But I made the change anyway.

That requires that Samus spend time not killing space pirate scum, though. Added a contingency to rearm if she has nothing better to do, though.

Also, edited to call the Seeker Missiles by their proper name.

[X] Shout for the others to get into their suits, and flag the information about the Warp Blades, the fact that they have a lot of explosives, and the fact that these pirates would rather die than surrender to get their attention.
-[X] Dauntless, Assault, Battery, Brandish, Glory Girl, Manpower, Flashbang, Aegis, Velocity, Lady Photon, Triumph.
[X] Switch to Thermal Visor so the others will have data about invisible enemies' locations that you see over the course of this battle. Shoot the drones with rapid-fired Wave Beams. If they approach while visible, punch them with your arm cannon hand and continue firing Wave Beams. If Thermal Visor is disrupted, temporarily switch to Combat Visor and fill the nearby area with Spazer Beam rounds until you know the drone's precise location, then Wave Beam it until it stops disrupting your visor. If at any point pirates pose a threat to any humans, such as by going for their det packs, kill that pirate first before resuming. If pirates close to melee, rip their blade-arms off and stab them with the Warp Blades.
-[X] Once the drones are all wrecked, switch to full-time Thermal Visor and attack the Shadow Pirates. Use Seeker Missiles until you run out, then use Wave Beams until you get more missiles. In the unlikely event that there is a moment you cannot use to kill Space Pirates, rearm from the Arbalest while keeping your Thermal Visor on and viewing as much of the battlefield as possible.
--[X] If normal pirates are present, Seeker Missile spam them to death when you're done with the Shadow Pirates.
-[X] Use the Stasis Beam and CF Missiles only if someone proposes an actual use for a captive, such as vivisection, and even then only on the final surviving pirate.
-[X] Scream about how much you hate these Space Pirates, but not over the comms.

Halbeard uses EMP weapons, right?
Most items from Metroid-verse are hardened against Nuke level EMP's, so it takes special dedicated equipment which Armsmaster hasn't replicated due to its lethality. Armsmaster's Force Halberd however is a devastating weapon in its own right and will be quite effective against melee foes, even if his Halberd's length advantage is hampered by the Pirates sheer size.

[x] Winged One

Though I am curious if MM's power would work with the Federation armor's weapons somehow.

MM's shard: Look at the weapons she's wielding! Must duplicate. Best Host ever!

Temporarily disable the cloak. It did disable the bombs the Pirates had already placed on the building, however the Pirates use nano-constructors on their person to create their explosives so they'll always have some if they need it.
Well that's a rwlief. Those nano-constructors take time to set up, right?

Armsmaster is going to have a brainer when he finds out about those things.

I don't appreciate people only posting to make troll votes. Either actually vote or get out of my thread.

Anyways this part of the vote:
-[] Use the Stasis Beam and CF Missiles only if someone proposes an actual use for a captive, such as vivisection, and even then only on the final surviving pirate.

I'll tell you right now no one's going to suggest this. Also Pirates will always commit suicide to avoid capture. Either by fighting to the death, blowing themselves up or activating the nanomachines intended to break their bodies down to prevent enemy forces from learning their secrets.

Alright, deleted that part of the vote.

Not trolling. If we just start shooting first, there's no way for this to be resolved peacefully. If we talk, we can always start shooting if things don't work.

That and I'd like to solve a problem without shooting it for once.

And even if it doesn't work, which it probably wouldn't I admit, it would at least distract the pirates long enough for the others to leave the area.

There's also the psychological healing of, hopefully, at least to the point where we aren't a traumatized after spending five seconds alone. More violence isn't likely to help with that goal.
