*newspaper to head*
Bad Mage. No implausibly setting off Golden Morning.
Don't think we want Earth-Bet to be one of the inevitable casualties though. Not the best place, true, but people we like (Vista, Taylor, etc.) call it home.

Eh... Samus is ALREADY on the planet.

There's already a fairly good chance it'll end up wrecked but all the Chozo Tech might mean the Chozo stuff fixes it or stops it from getting destroyed when either Samus or Scion activate their 'Planetary Collateral Damage' traits.

[x] Use charged wave beam shots combined with the thermal visor to destroy the drones at range. Once the drones have been dispatched use seeker missiles with the thermal visor to take out the shadow pirates.
[x] Melee and close range fighters get suit priority.
[x] See if Vista can use her powers to disrupt the warp blades of the pirates.

Kill them all.

Let's make sure said tech not only exists, but is on, before we tempt fate, eh?

I just subjected myself to this monstrosity so obviously I now need to ruin your day to atleast now I know how what I don't want to see in this quest.

Enjoy

[X] Shout for the others to get into their suits, and flag the information about the Warp Blades, the fact that they have a lot of explosives, and the fact that these pirates would rather die than surrender to get their attention.
-[X] Dauntless, Assault, Battery, Brandish, Glory Girl, Manpower, Flashbang, Aegis, Velocity, Lady Photon, Triumph.

[X] Switch to Thermal Visor so the others will have data about invisible enemies' locations that you see over the course of this battle. Shoot the drones with rapid-fired Wave Beams. If they approach while visible, punch them with your arm cannon hand and continue firing Wave Beams. If Thermal Visor is disrupted, temporarily switch to Combat Visor and fill the nearby area with Spazer Beam rounds until you know the drone's precise location, then Wave Beam it until it stops disrupting your visor. If at any point pirates pose a threat to any humans, such as by going for their det packs, kill that pirate first before resuming. If pirates close to melee, rip their blade-arms off and stab them with the Warp Blades.
-[X] Once the drones are all wrecked, switch to full-time Thermal Visor and attack the Shadow Pirates. Use Seeker Missiles until you run out, then use Wave Beams until you get more missiles. In the unlikely event that there is a moment you cannot use to kill Space Pirates, rearm from the Arbalest while keeping your Thermal Visor on and viewing as much of the battlefield as possible.
--[X] If normal pirates are present, Seeker Missile spam them to death when you're done with the Shadow Pirates.
-[X] Scream about how much you hate these Space Pirates, but not over the comms.

I feel that this blend of tactics and in-character aggression gives us the best chance of destroying these pirate scum and saving the people they intend to kill.

EDIT: this plan has undergone revision due to posts below.

HAHAH. Wow. Well our plan didn't get very far!

First thing first guys. Samus needs to yell "SPACE PIRATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". Maybe they will get a clue after this (if they survive) that they aren't Captain Jack fun loving expies. *cough*

They are equipped with Det Packs and Warp Blades.
Jet.

Also we probably want to avoid melee with these guys, especially since their warp blades can penetrate technology though invulnerable. We're probably still fine though it's going to hit HARD. It's going to cut like a plasma knife thru butter for those Federation Suits I'm guessing.

Not sure how many of them are the melee specced space pirates and if any are of the ranged type. Aggression is good. We need those bonuses. Remember the Protectorate is a joke (against echos at least :D )

However a flaw in the system prevents them from hiding the thermal trail left by their engines. Their electronic warfare suite has been updated to scramble most forms of Thinker powers, as well as some forms of master control rendering both useless in (for example) long term precognition as well as direct combat. This EW suite is so powerful that it can even scramble suit visor functions if Samus gets too close, and can disrupt missile tracking.

Highly recommended to destroy these units first if encountered with other Pirate Forces.
Thermal Visor, Stay away from the drones. Take out the drones first. Use tracking Wave Cannon shots, they can't avoid/block those. Missiles wouldn't hit.

Use super locking missiles on the Space Pirates and KILLKILLMURDERDEATHKILL on the space pirates. Go fast and maybe no one will even get the time to get in a suit.

No untrained Capes into suits... So the only real bet on folks who can ACTUALLY use it is Armsmaster. Possibly the rest of the protectorate has received training though it seems obvious Mouse Protector hasn't. So I would Prioritize the Protectorate first and then any other adult Cape available since even basic mode (that MP is running in) is better than nothing. All minors stay back.

Fucking GG is going to get herself killed on a warp blade.

.... Thank you for exposing me to that. It was great.

Well it doesn't seem like the Space Pirates are AS FAST as Samus, so that's nice.

[X] Thermal Visor On
-[X] Blow up Drones via Beam Weapons
--[X] Macross Missile Massacure the Space Pirates
---[X] If/When you get into Melee Range rip off their arms+blades and use them to continue killdozering the other Space Pirates
[X] All of the Protectorate Capes get a Suit.
-[X] Glory Girl gets a Suit.

Whatta ya think about this plan guys?

Try Brandish. Part of her thing is changing into an invincible, yet immobile, sphere of light. What'd you wanna bet the Space Pirates'll take those blades and carve her up all-painful-and-lethal like?
Yeah true. I really kinda want to get all of New Wave to evacuate/run the fuck away. But I know they won't do it, will be insulted if it was suggested and would fuck it up if they tried anyways. That and if they survive they will somehow blame Samus/Us/Protectorate for this and other things. Or it might solidify them on our stance.

"Whoops... Killed the Puppies :drevil:"

Hmm. Not bad. I still think we should have Samus at least explain something on what she's scanned as concisely as possible as she decides who gets the armor. Is that all eleven remaining suits? I haven't counted.

Also us screaming "DIE YOU FUCKING SPACE PIRATTTEEESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! *Insane Rage Noises for rest of the fight*" I think is quite necessary for increasing our rolls and our characterization. Also defines that these are the funny space pirates everyone has been laughing at us for the WHOLE FUCKING QUEST!

Also how the vote should be defined to keep it easily organized wasn't defined. Probably we should stick in an [Action] for the action plan portion and a [Capes] for the cape portion if they are separately counted. If not I guess It goes by whatever the main collected vote is. It's probably what we will do anyways on second thought.
[X] Shout for the others to get into their suits, and warn them about the Warp Blades. No need to be polite.
-[X] Weaver
-[X] Vista
-[X] Panacea
-[X] Laserdream
-[X] Mouse Protector
-[X] Dauntless

-[X] If there are drones and/or Shadow Pirates still active by the time the capes have suited up, call out warnings as appropriate if you spot any sneaky stuff in progress.

Oooo. I like this

Do you include the Wards as the Protectorate, and I think the more... aggressive minded/melee-only heroes should get a suit. Heroes like Brandish. MM can sit behind the barrier and plink.
True.

So then... er is Armsmaster in his suit? I'd think he'd be in his custom one right now...

Let's see... Clockblocker, Aegis for sure... Kid Win can probably figure it out quick enough to be a help. And Glory Girl. The rest can stay back and plink or (be useless).

Armsmaster and Mouse already have armor, correct? I thought the latter still had hers on from the demonstration and I'm not sure that would be counted. And is Weaver's armor Federation standard?

[X] Shout for the others to get into their suits, and warn them about the Warp Blades. No need to be polite.
-[X] Suits for everyone who wants to leave the bubble or whose comrades think they will leave the bubble. Also, Panacea, because planning for nobody to get injured at all is stupidly optimistic. After that, prioritize Protectorate capes.

Hmm.. Ok it changed and not as sharply defined cape choices. Good reasoning though.

I like it.

Yes there was 12 suits at start of this. One is use by MP. That is why there is eleven more to use. Weaver's (and the rest of the wards) only have some basic federationish style thing Samus made in her ship. It helps but it's not full Fed standard I believe.

There are eleven suits available. Mouse and Armsmaster are wearing Federation power suits. LIST the capes you want to shove inside a suit, don't just give me a vague "Put X amount of capes into suits."

@Winged One Guess ya need to relist specific names again.

The only thing I can think to add in us verbalizing our rage (as I keep rooting for hehehe).

I'll have to think more if there is anything else to improve the fight. Drones do seem the most dangerous at the moment.

Warp blades PROBABLY can go right thru the arbalests shield I think..

Might not be a safe place for the unarmored (or armored if we're honest).

Also we might be assuming the shield will remain up for an extended time.

Anything we can do in regards to make some folks safer, I foresee casualties. Perhaps the Dragon Suit is good cover till it reboots after/mid next chapter

Also Spaser Beams? Do we have that, I don't see it listed on the front page and I've forgotten if that is a thing we have. WE recently gained multilockon missiles and the thermal visor and are using those.

Wave beam is the perfect can't hit 'other target' weapon. Homing though I don't know if that means perfect hit if locked on. Hits harder as well.

No, it's a det pack, as in a Detonation Pack. As in they have a ton of bombs on them. These bombs won't trigger unless they receive the proper signal, and are completely inert until then.
Ahh... Well that's good to know. I'm sure others like me assumed that was a misspelled Jet pack.

Uh... They got bombs for last minute suicide/FUCK YOU gesture guuiiizzzz!

@Winged One I think we also need to specify usage of 'Seeker Missiles instead of just missiles to be sure we use the new multilockon/fire feature. Would increase our ROF. Mention keeping an eye on the count as well I suppose, though I think you already have something about that in there.

You heard the QM, make it an actual list.
You do it, please? I don't know these characters as well as I'd prefer if I'm going to try to predict who is going to try to leave the bubble.

I will add in some screaming.
I think our spam beam is called Spaser. If I recall right, Wave beam and missiles only home in if we get a lock.
