(Please don't laugh at the names of these meals - this is British cuisine, I didn't pick the names, okay? And I have no idea if any British people would actually eat this for lunch, my research is inconclusive because most of what I'm finding is goshdarn recipes instead of cultural analytics. So annoying.)
[ ] Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties - A savoury pudding made of sheep offal, with a side of diced turnips, and fresh potatoes.
[ ] Bacon Sandwich - A few slices of fried bacon in between slices of toast bread, with a hint of Worcestershire sauce and cheese.
[ ] Mashed Potatoes and Faggots - An exquisite plate of mashed potatoes topped with several pork offal meatballs, as well as a side of green peas.
[ ] Bubble and Squeak - A classic dish made from cooked potatoes and cabbage, mixed together and fried, then topped with a sunny-side-up egg.
[ ] Spotted Dick - A traditional British steamed pudding, historically made with suet and dried fruit and often served with custard.
[ ] Bangers and Mash - It's what you had for breakfast, essentially. Don't experiment and be inventive; stick to what works.
[ ] Write-in - Must be something that could be reasonably served here. Not recommended; QM may veto.
Fraid to tell you that while these are traditional and you might find them in niche cafes or pubs but apart from Bacon Sandwich (the fillings of which vary widely apart from it including bacon), and bangers and mash those aren't widely eaten anymore at all (though Bubble and Squeak is in Northern Ireland still). A far more typical lunch in most cases would be a toastie or a Pasty of some description or a jacket potato with something if you're getting something while you're at work.

[Z] Duelling Champion [2 Gnosis] - According to (future) Geist, Flitwick was a master of duelling, and has many trophies to show for it, as well as a reputation which is mostly glossed over. Accept his offer, but throw in the clause that you'd like him to also teach you some of his duelling tricks. A bit less Charms, a bit more fighting magic.

BATTLEMAGICK!!!

Jeje. Dick.

This is a good opportunity to learn about combat. We will need extensive testing of runes in combat to make it effective for the next time we are in danger. Flitwick is the best candidate available unless Dumbledore starts personally tutoring us. Combat is not just about casting spells. It's about assessing the situation, keeping calm under fire. Create a plan given your current limitations and enact the plan while leaving enough flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances. These skills cannot be taught without a sparring partner and while Geist can teach us the theoretical aspect the practical aspects require a qualified mentor. It would be even better if an auror or Dumbledore himself taught us, but barring that Flitwick is the next best thing.

Hmm, good to know. I'll make sure to look into these and include them in your next food vote!

[X] Duelling Champion [2 Gnosis]
I am sad at having to spend the gnosis but a 7.5 dueling teacher when Dumbledore is a 9 is too good to pass up if dueling loses I will just not agree just yet for Charms will never be our specialty but I do find it fascinating that Runes and Astrology were the old cornerstones of magic. I imagine the lack of a prep-time requirement allowed Charms to overcome Runes/Astrology as the standard of magic

Permanent gains. Unique opportunities. Yes please thank you.
Also, the british version of hash browns with sauerkraut and runny egg yolk sounds good to me.

I'm guessing a visit to the Kitchen's will be in order if we want to try anything unique? Of a mind to go in there later and ask them to make a variety of international dishes [like Hungarian gulyásleves, Chinese jiǎozi, Egyptian fatteh, Brazillian picanha, Ukrainian kotleta po-kyivsky, etc.] on any given day since we can't travel very far yet.

Spotted dick for lunch? But that's a dessert! And bangers and mash for breakfast? These house elves are going to give these children scurvy

[X] Egg In The Hole; a thick cut of hearty bread toasted with butter, over medium sunnyside egg with sea salt in the center, 3 fried Lincolnshire sausages, a fresh picked apple from the Greenhouses, and a hot cup of English Breakfast Tea, black as Geist's sense of humor.

How about a practical meal that's still very English.

You only did the food choice to clown on British cuisine, didn't you?

[X] Don't Agree For Now - It seems like no matter what you do, Flitwick's offer will stand. As such, you can always accept later on. Until you feel a need to bring your Charms up to a higher level, there's no reason to accept. Focus on other subjects and on yourself, first, just like he said.

Harry will already be spending time on an in-depth study of three schools of magic at once, so why spray even more?

[x]Steamed Monkfish with Piquant Fenugreek Sauce

@Birdsie If not a spoiler, is it known how much numerology without trismegistus can strengthen the assembly of the Child of Stars?

[X] Flitwick's Offer Is Promising
[X] Bacon Sandwich

Gnosis is best used if it's saved up, so I'd rather do that then just spend it on the first shiny put before us.

I'm worried though because gnosis prompts are rare, and it might not be a possibility later? We're not going to have a first class everytime where we impress the hats off a teacher..
