I wasn't expecting much when I clicked on this quest, but its actually really cool. You-Know-Who did nothing wrong (almost slipped there!). 'ate Merlin, 'ate Wizards, 'ate the Saxons, love me King Arthur.

Wonder if what King Arthur said about none of Merlin's ilk being able to use the sword meant wizards in general or just purebloods. I'm struggling to think of a character that could use the sword if it is calling for a muggle, unless Dudley really is going up to scotland. Or maybe it's a non-human? A Goblin? Maybe the fae can read intentions, and it will go to the true of heart sort.

The arrival of Neville reminded me of something. If Bellatrix is free, does it mean the Longbottom were not attacked? Ot was it just Crouch and the male Lestranges

Hm, given how one-sided this vote appears to be, we might go for an early lock - especially if this trend keeps up, with no significant arguments to the contrary.

I want Ron to be, almost, a meta-subversion of the already-present subversion of Gryffindor for this story
I'll create Ron Weasley, and I will make you respect him
I'll create Hermione Granger, and I'll make you fear her
Dudley's death has left a gap in the narrative and Birdsie writes solid bromance. Hermione's neat, but I don't think Harry should cater to Geist on a decision that's been highlighted as crucial to the plot. Ron has the makings of a good friend and voice of reason to counterbalance Geist's baggage train. Besides, what we've been told of the Weasleys in this AU is interesting; I don't recall any another story where the wealth imbalance favors them.

[X] Ron Weasley

[X] Hermione Granger

Best choice, in my opinion. She's got an immense drive for learning, and can become motivated against societal issues (see her short lived protest about the treatment of House Elves) assuming that she's broken out of 'authority figures are always 100% right' mode. Perfect as both an amazing ally and someone that could be convinced to topple the ministry, if things get to that point.
