That's assuming that Queen Gytha has her neurotic freakout, which... -checks- she has! So, there's an even chance of her going Fascist or Communist, from my experience.

Fair point. Playing the bad guy always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I was actually hoping to see a benevolent Nightmare Moon this playthrough. Maybe there's something similar with Chrysalis?

Also, with New Mareland having gone Patriation, Fascist Changelings will do a lot better than they would if it was still with Equestria.

Benevolent Nightmare Moon what? From what I remember of her focus tree she's up there with Fascist Longsword & Hellquill in terms of literally exterminating the opposition.

Looking at the EaW wiki, the civil war is bloody, yeah. But the "Forgiveness" branch afterwards includes reinstituting freedom of speech and worship, and, if I'm reading this right, culminates in NMM turning back into Luna.

    After getting over her shock, Chrysalis decided to accept the deal. Who knows, maybe this Queen Gytha would come around to the proper way of thinking?



    The Longswordian Civil War has broken out. Here we observe the psychopath that set it off. Charming looking fellow, ain't he?



    Despite her success, there are still some who doubt Chrysalis' capability. Hearing whispers of possible betrayal, especially in the wake of the visit from the Greneclyfians, the Queen has begun to properly secure her support.



    Oh, look. The ponies have decided to hold a party. How… cute.

    BLEUGH.



    The Olenian King, having shored up his control of the government, is now attempting to direct his citizens' dissatisfaction toward us instead of addressing the massive amounts of corruption in the government.



    As our population grows, we have begun to train more troops for the army.



    The rumors of plots against Queen Chrysalis, despite her efforts at securing her power base, have only grown as of recent times. Thorax's faction, especially, has grown louder and louder, citing Greneclyf's apparent success as proof of the possibility of Changeling Harmony. Chrysalis has increasingly considered the possibility of crushing the movement in recent days, but she is unsure as to far the Thoraxian influence reaches. Purging it could cause a fair amount of damage, so perhaps it is best to just let the hatchlings whine for now?

    • My only complaint is that HoI doesn't really do enough to prevent snowballing.

    Would be nice to have to actually, you know, manage and secure territory you've taken instead of being able to just "use" non-Core Building slots with no unrest or rebellions.

    Honestly, I won't be too upset if we stay Chrysalis. Might still be able to tone things down later.

    What would be upsetting is going full lul-evulz. Never go full lul-evulz.

    Obviously the next playthrough we should torture Hakazin by choosing the Dread League. Because holy heck it takes you like three years to get to the part where you can do anything.
