The West Griffonian Union has one division at the moment and is training a couple more. Our war with them, near as I can tell, completely wrecked their manpower reserves. The Yaks probably have about 12ish, and aren't communist quite yet. A few more months should be enough for them to flip.
For context, Stalliongrad has 56 divisions, and both the Changelings and Equestria have anywhere from 100 to 180. The Crystal empire adds another 21 divisions to the Allies, but the Changelings have enough reserve manpower to match both of them. The Changelings also have a ton of buffs to direct combat capability, but it's only a matter of time before Chrysalis implements the Continuous War Plan, which should precipitate their collapse going by what I've seen before.

Oh yeah, the Nazis also went beyond their capabilities, didn't they? Put up a mean fight, but with an economy based around looting other countries, their collapse was inevitable. The changelings are much the same, but with nutrition instead. With Chrissy refusing to consider symbiotic feeding...
Stalin knows how long that collapse will take though. If the war drags on too long, either the Equestrians will break, or Celestia will. Both spell our doom.

-0.5% weekly Stability and War Support. They tend to select the focus about a year in, which means that, with an average war duration of about 3 years, they'll lose about 50% Stability and War Support by the end.

The only thing I remember is the repair speed buffs, but I'm pretty sure there's other bonuses. The logic, as far as I can tell, is that you take it while you have the advantage so you can get that little extra boost you need to win. It's a high-risk high-reward gamble, basically.
Sinister eagerly set to work scheduling a grand military parade, informing the local recruiting offices that they should be prepared to receive an influx of volunteers. As the opening of the Starswirl State University rolled around, the recruitment offices were swamped with potential new recruits looking to sign up.
The fronts as of October. The Equestrian army is on the back foot after their loss of Tall Tales, and the Changelings are taking advantage. The NMAC forces in Olenia are also getting pushed out.
On top of all this, it seems that Queen Chrysalis isn't merely content with using ponies as food. Dust Hoover, former Equestrian Admiral, current member of the PCP, and unofficial leader of the Vanhoover resistance has managed to contact us, and he reports that ponies are being rounded up and being sent to repair and work in factories captured by the Changelings.
Fronts as of November. The Equestrians have recovered, somewhat, and are starting to hold out again. However, manpower shortages are beginning to rear their ugly head.
Also, it's about bucking time, woman! You'd think she was trying to lose, or something.
The Equestrians have officially requested our help! With Starlight Glimmer, the head of the Ponies' Communist Party, being officially sent by Celestia as an official diplomat to request Vasily and Stalliongrad's assistance, we could hardly refuse this heartfelt and sincere offer from out Pony brethren. To war, Stalliongrad! To war against the fascists! To war against Chrysalis!
Unbeknownst to the Princess, Sinister used the opportunity to float the idea of Stalliongrad actively supporting the PCP during and after the war to Starlight. She seemed interested, and agreed to meet later in her official diplomatic duties.
So. Full disclosure here. For some reason, joining the war dismantles the Socialist Union faction in favor of you joining the United Ponies Alliance, and the end of the war, despite removing you from the UPA, doesn't give you your faction back. This, given that we're planning to recruit the Yaks and start a revolution in Equestria, is not particularly helpful, so I futzed around in the console a bit to have us keep our faction, but still be in the war.
Vasily quickly transitioned the economy to full-scale mobilisation, and sent troops to shore up the southern front.
Although carting infantry around in trucks functions, it has been determined that it would be better for the trucks to be armored. And have guns on them.
The ACN, seeing our alliance with the Equestrians, took the opportunity to present their demands to King Rutherford. It did not go well. Long story short, Yakyakistan is now in a civil war, and we have sent our support.
Because apparently having to use the console is a theme today, this had to be manually triggered and I had to manually add the Yaks to the faction. I'm beginning to see why Stalliongrad's getting a rework.
Vasily's speech today to the Supreme Soviet was the first one he has given since Stalliongrad joined the Great War. Like the one he gave during the Northern War, in it he outlined the objectives of and reasoning behind the war. Unlike his previous wartime speech, this one was clearly inspired by Sinister's more demagogic style as opposed to Vasily's typical facts-based technique.
The war as we enter it. Celestia has not been doing well.
Our direct support of the Yaks has turned what would ordinarily be a hard-fought war into a one-sided slaughter. We have rapidly advanced into Rutherford's territory, and will probably finish them off quickly.
[Forgot a picture, sorry]
Meanwhile, the 1st Army under Nestor Lunin has reached the front lines. Plans are being drawn up to relieve the pocket of Equestrian forces on the Californian coast.
Yes, the province is called California. No, I do not know why.
With our troops having just captured the only city held by the Kingdom, their resistance collapsed. The Hot now controls Yakyakistan, and our forces in the 3rd army move to the Changeling border.
The lack of Changelings manning the northern front has allowed us to start a push there.
A number of scientists performing high-energy magical research in St. Petershoof have discovered… something. Apparently very high-energy reactions can be stimulated from the magically-imbued crystals we use in the Mana-Ruzhyo weapons. They have requested permission to examine this phenomenon, and see where it leads…
[Missed a picture here, too]
Fronts as of January. Our efforts to relive the Californian pocket have been abandoned, as they have nearly been wiped out and we have no chance of rescuing them.
The bandit raids on the WGU border have increased. In fact, a number of patrols there have realized that the raids are not so much raids as they are scouting expeditions. The Griffonian People's Army is still in extremely bad shape, so the 3rd Army has been pulled back to defend the border.
Griffonstone, the home of Griffonkind, has been taken by Wingbardy. Il Duce goes from strength to strength, and there are rumors floating about as to if he plans to take the next logical step in his conquests. After all, the only potential target remaining is the Empire...
And no, I do not know why Prywhen changed their name back to the Griffonian Revolutionary State.
Our tanks need further improvement! Their service in the war have highlighted areas they could be improved, and the information is being sent back to STZ.
The fronts as of February and the current state of The Great War. Our support has bolstered the Equestrians, and the Changeling casualties are beginning to climb.
And with that, I shall end today's update. Megacorp has just been released, and I've been wanting to start playing it all day.
Heh, you should have seen me in my last game as Equestria.
I tried this stupid 'Fortress Vanhoover' idea. Basically tried to cover the area surround Vanhoover in forts, then when the war came if I needed to pull back the fortress would force the changelings to commit divisions to keeping the divisions garrisoning Vanhoover contained. It took me months to build and when the war came I lost it within weeks. Probably cost me the war.
The 1st Army is doing well for itself. We're managing to support the Equestrians, allowing them to start to push the Changelings back.
Taking inspiration from the Equestrians, we have begun to integrate dedicated spellcasting battalions into our armies. Training has also begun on standard infantry exclusively equipped with Magical Weapons. These units will provide a much-needed boost to our anti-armor efforts, which will be very welcome when fighting the Changelings.
Our front as of March. We are continuing to reclaim the Equestrian territory, with Tall Tales beginning to come into sight.
In fact, it took only a week before we reached the city. During the intense fighting, Nestor Lunin was attacked by a Changeling assassin who had managed to sneak through our lines. Luckily enough, he was only wounded. He will be unable to perform as effectively while recovering.
With that in mind, Nestor gave field command to Vinous Kostylev while he returned to Stalliongrad to recover.
With Tall Tales retaken, the obvious next target would be Vanhoover. The 2nd Army was directed to make an immediate push toward the occupied city.
In the north, the bandits on the frontier announced their intention to conquer the West Griffonian Union and burn Weter to ash. We have, naturally, responded with long-overdue police action.
Inside a week, we captured the only two cities the bandits effectively controlled, and forced their surrender. However, a fight nearly broke between the Griffon and Yak forces before Katya Ironstead forced them to negotiate. The Griffons wanted to reclaim the frontier, whereas the Yaks wished for the return of territory unlawfully taken by the Nova Griffonian government during the initial colonization of the area. As a relatively neutral party, Katya was asked to arbitrate. Which party will she side with?
Both of them, that's the source of the dispute. The lower picture is the Yaks getting their cores, the upper picture is the Griffons getting all their cores.
I just want to clarify that this decision isn't at all affected by the fact we will probably for an formal alliance with the Yaks soon enough, nope, not at all.

Oh, they're already in our faction. As I said in the previous update, it seemed that having to play around with the console in order to get things to work properly was a theme, since at the moment the Yaks don't have a way to join Stalliongrad without cheating.

Ah, I just assumed otherwise because they let us decide this as a more "neutral" party, now, call me crazy but being allies with one of the sides doesn't look very neutral to me.
