Seems Coil's shard isn't working too well when boosted. Considering it's timeline prediction, this is unsurprising - that likely needs quite a chunk of energy, like PtV or Scion's auto-dodge ability.

It's also a Cauldron power that Coil has, so the auto regulation functions that might have compensated for the boost are probably missing.
 
I got the impression that since he drops the timeline where he actually begs, he doesn't care about demeaning himself. Because he didn't, technically.

I do believe it looks very much like a Master power on Boost's part, actually. He gradually gets susceptible to more and more extreme commands, and after doing those he forgets what he did or any impulses/thoughts he got from doing, so to allow said Master to get his target more and more hooked.

Seems like someone's gotten in over his head... it kind of makes sense that power boosting Trumps and Cauldron capes wouldn't always mix well.

Well, as far as we know, Othala never seemed to do anything like that. Then again, she didn't boost powers, she granted Powers. In a way she was closer to Teacher than Boost is. Thus why I think it's not an always thing.

Yeah, but like you said, granting =/= boosting. From a meta perspective, Othala has, much like Teacher, a great power for a leader of some sort. But considering Boost would be dealing only with other paras, there really woundn't be much conflict for him to partake, it'd be the purview of the others.

Now when you have a master effect in the mix? Changes everything.

Coil walked out of the room feeling stronger, fitter, healthier. His headache was gone, and he could ignore the fact that he hadn't been able to sleep for the last seven days. He could also make sense of his timelines again.

Ah-ha! That explains a few things from the last chapter! It also implies all the chaos of the other timelines are caused more or less solely by Coil's attempts to off Adam. That's... actually pretty hilarious to me. (Of course, the "leave Adam alone" option probably never occurred to him.)

That... is NOT a natural expansion of Coil's powers. That's worrisome.

As he thought, there was no record of that conversation from Kid Win. Either Tattletale had lied to Mayhem for reasons that he didn't understand, or, more likely, Mayhem had edited the footage or soundtrack to make himself seem more sympathetic.

Uh... point of order? HOW does he know Regent can do that? IIRC, Regent wasn't exactly forthcoming with his past as Hijack. ...and Coil just casually busting out that info would probably be taken VERY badly.

All three timelines quivered, vibrating like bent bowstrings, and Coil started to get a bit of headache. Still, it wasn't like he was going to stop.

I... think I mostly got it. Coil's being boosted AND Mastered thanks to Boost's addictive properties AND the way the kid's powers fuck with his memories. Meanwhile, he's running multiple timelines, some of which are starting to act REALLY screwy, thanks to said power fuckery.

In short, this is going to Go Really Bad.

Or Boost is more like Teacher, who, IIRC, couldn't mess with anyone he hadn't actually enhanced. If Boost's powers ONLY work on capes, that means normal humans should be mostly okay.
