Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Ccc adds dice in this version, instead of lowering difficulty.
Even if it did (it doesn't, it's a 3 count difficulty reducer).

@DragonParadox the dice amount is also wrong. If it's Dex or Int +Craft +WHWH + Stunt it should be (4+3)*2+2+=18 dice. So, assuming normal starting difficulty it should be 18 dice against difficulty 3 (-3 for CCC and -1 for BSM), not 16 against difficulty 7. Unless we are rolling something + Technology, but then it's wrong too, because we rolled too many dice.

We get -2 to our effective Craft skill, since it's outside of our mechanics specialty, and not related to our mechanics specialty. So it should technically be 14 dice, so it's still wrong but in the other way. Either way, the roll is messed up.

You lost some dice because you are not crafting in specialty.

OK, so I now realize what happened. I got to 18 dice after all the dice added and then took out the -2 from a lack of specialty, but it should have been 14 dice since you cannot get excellency from base rolls you are not using so really it should have been 14 dice against DC 3 (7-3-1). One moment while I re-roll that one

And that's 14 successes because key abilities ignore 1s. Nice,

It would have been 10 otherwise, which still cleared the hurdle for inhuman skill and you did not quite make it to 15 which is when they start dong weird things like fluoresce because of the perfectly shaped crystalline structure or each produce a separate and extremely specific note when struck such that hitting them in order makes a famous piece of music, you know being a show off even by Celestial standards. :V

[X] Tell your parents, they have a right to know

Let's sell out our siblings for browny points with the rents.

Thanks. So, just checking, we are only rolling our indicated craft numbers when doing mechanical stuff? Ok, got it.

I think we got this out of a new degree of success:
It sounds like a song your had heard in a dream in an instant...
More lore!

I am guessing we need twenty successes or more for stuff like holograms, etc. What's the success margin for nanoscale wormhole and quantum field energy taps? Twenty five? Thirty? Guess we'll have to find out. We'll definitely have to find out.

[X] Give her a 'spirit assistant' and ask her to come to you before she does something this drastic next time
-[X] Leadership excellency
-[X] STUNT: "I'm proud of you for helping your friend. And for talking to mom first, even if it didn't help. Now, what I am not proud of is not using all resources available to you before risking a lot by yourself and with no backup. You have an awesome older sister after all." you say, before fishing out a new mobile phone, with its own cyber... spirit. Yeah, that's what you'll be going with: "And she has contacts of her own. Here, take this. They'll help you if you are in trouble, and no, they won't report to me. Think of them as a mix of a digital bodyguard, and Navi from Zelda. Just don't use them as a moral compass."

[X] Task a newly summoned Cyber-Devil to sibling overwatch. You don't want to know everything the jawas are doing, that would be far too Charity-ish for your tastes, but you do need a heads up whenever they're planning to or have already broken the law. Forewarned is forearmed, after all. It can also be on the lookout for skeevy internet predators that turn their attention toward your family.

That would be outside the technology level with which TTC is working. You would have to figure how out to do those things first. before attempting the crafting.

i have to ask would the black diamond have some metaphysical weight because well it's a black diamond there are legend around that

So, first we'll rolls Int + ... Academics? Technology? To figure out the precise carbon atom geometrical arrangement to make this (Casimir effect producing a wormhole) happen. Then we would roll craft to make it happen?

We could probably do it sorta like this?
1) Roll Academics to do as much analytical work as possible to formulate the equation and solve as much as possible analytically
2) Write a program to model the system on a quantum level (that's First Principles Modeling, it's a real thing), plugging in the equations we got from point 1
3) Use TTC to make the largest supercomputer in the world. Spend the next week or so running it continuously at full capacity to model what we want
4) Use craft to actually make it

20+ successes will net us more complex and flashy effect then, I guess.

Yeah in theory using your unnatural number of successes to substitute for years or even decades of work is possible, but it is not just one roll you can do in an afternoon, you would have to dedicate AP to it

Would that be work that other people could use, or work that relies on the ability to tweak physical laws with essence for parts of the process?

The former is probably more useful, but the latter would be really funny on occasion.
I'm not sure why we'd want to be that much of a dick, but I bet we could gaslight a major university or two into becoming alien visitation conspiracy theorists. :V

Edit: Wait, I have the perfect use for this. College applications.

Instead of wasting time writing essays and the like, we show up in the physics department holding a pair of fist sized gems with either end of an impossibly large and stable wormhole* caught in them.

Then we just need to follow the confused screeching to the largest pile of grant money and we're golden.

Consequences? This is an exalted cross, we only think about those after they happen.

* Or just a ridiculous number of "normal" ones if those particular physical laws are feeling intransigent.

If your objective was to make new technology than it would be a technological solution that would work for everyone. That is what it means to roll academics and not occult.
