Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Subscription service immortality would be great, except we are unironically have better things to do; VEE is capable of granting flat merit-based immortality that takes no additional upkeep and doesn't consume priceless time of an Infernal Exalt.

But 4 dots of alchemy is still good. 4 Dots is the point where we can simulate low dots Disciplines and such; one dot of Auspex would be absolutely incredible.
This rather depends, on how far can we dumb the recipe down. Alchemy is a mortal discipline. It can be performed by mortals. And everyone is magic, at least a bit. We could probably put our exalted mastery to simplifying the process of brewing the immortality potions. Basically, dumb it down, improve it to the point where barely trained practitioners can brew it, then patent it and get it through FDA. Get the ParaNet minor talents a job brewing this thing in industrial quantities.

Regarding XP spending:
We need to spend XP to generate XP. This means we need stuff that produces opportunities and new, well, experiences. So far, there are two types of actions that we seem to use the most: crafting and socially crushing creatures of darkness. The next arc (or the one after that) is likely to deal with Chicago underground, and making a Dragon's Nest. This means, that we should enhance our options where it comes to those. As such:

"all things made easy" part:
Boiling Oil Mastery 4xp
Transcendent Lord of Flies 4xp

These two are universal, or near-universal difficulty adjusters. Both of them also grant protection from environments at no essence cost. At 1 XP Transcendent Lord of Flies also renders us immune to environmental damage (meaning that we could chill out in burning buildings and gas chambers). Boiling Sea mastery provides us additional movement options in and outside of liquids too. These are must-get. They would allow us to do more, and to do it better. They would also allow us to explore more environments, such as to easily mount expeditions into NeverNever (which is almost certainly a "hostile, barren environment" as it was). I want to explore the "scar" where our exaltation was found, for example. And we might want to check some other places.

Social minion gathering:
Mercy in Servitude 4xp - this is for White and Red court vampires, and red court half-vampires (meaning that Harry can have Susan back, I think). It's a powerful tool to ensure someone's loyalty.

Craft:
Excellency: Technology 4 XP
Technology 2 dots, 2 XP

We are going to be building Dragon's Nest. Stuff like active air conditioning, power generators, defensive turrets, etc, are all technology. We use craft a lot, and this expands what we can craft with legendary successes.

This is 18 XP so far. After this, depending on how much XP we get, we have several options:
1) Assuming we have 20 XP
Throw out 2 dots of technology and switch to either Computers Excellency (can we do this with no dots in Computers?), Murder is Meat (we need a spirit killer in general), Prince of Ruin Attitude (for being able to use broken items, and not having to care about stuff like fuel and phone charges at no essence cost), or Naked Wicked Souls
2) Assuming we have 21 XP, add Prince of Ruin Attitude or Naked Wicked Souls. I am partial to Prince of Ruin Attitude, but Naked Wicked Souls has a lot of potential for getting us new information and, thus, plot. With excellency we roll 10 dice, at maximum difficulty of 9, so at the cost of 2 XP, we are almost guaranteed to learn secrets of almost anyone.
3) At 22 XP, throw out Technology 2 and buy both Prince of Ruin Attitude and Naked Wicked Souls.
3) At 23 XP, throw out Technology 2, and add Computers Excellency and 1 dots in computers. This should synergy with our cyberdevils.

The core idea of this spending plan is to finish building the foundations and to be able to generate as much XP as quickly as possible.

There are some questions for our QM that I'll need to ask regarding several of these, though. Specifically in regards to Naked Wicked Souls (can they be used on recordings, or is it only direct physical line of site? Can it be used multiple times on the same person, to try and roll 5 successes if we have time?) and Rendered Villain dispersal (specifically on how large the bodies of liquid we can disperse in are, and how re-materialization works - depending on the answer, we could use it for liquid-based teleportation and long-range transportation).

-[X]Crown of Eyes: Rhys the Ragged's face/body or quarters: Identities of the rulers of Fomori society: -1 Essence
-[X]Crown of Eyes: Dr Niemi's face/body: Pathfinder network of holdings/assets: -1 Essence
-[X]Crown of Eyes: Lydia's frogman: Structure of the society of those(Fomori) who enslaved him: -1 Essence
I'll appropriate some of those if you don't mind. Also, I read the text to mean that Rhys the Ragged is dr. Niemi's real identity. @DragonParadox am I right or am I misreading this?

[X] Try to strip as much equipment and arcane machinery as you can out of the base
-[X]Cremate human/mutated human bodies if time available
-[X] Use Tool Transcending Constructs to increase the rate of packing and to make an amphibious trailer to pack it all in.
--[X] Use craft excellency
-[X] Use the crown:
--[X] On Rhys the Ragged to discern the identity of the ultimate beneficiary of this scheme. Who was this done in service of?
--[X] On laboratory equipment to learn what other assets Pathfinders have
--[X] On Lydia's frogman: Structure of the society of those(Fomori) who enslaved him
-[X]Cremate human/mutated human bodies if time available
--[X] Ask Lydia to help sending them off.
-[X] stunt: as you stare at the horrific assembly, part of you wants to burn it all down. To smash and cut and destroy until not even a memory remains. But... "The best revenge is living well" you mutter, "We are taking it all, and putting it to better use. Using this for good is the best we can do for its victims now". As you speak, your aura unfurls, robotic tools manifesting. Some of them start reshaping the surgical tables, cabinets and other easily replaced objects into a watertight amphibious trailer. Others assist your father and Lydia in preparing everything you can see for transport.

Crown use should be either essence neutral or close to it. Craft and excellency are either 2 or 3 points. This leaves us with 2 or 3 points in case of emergency. Not enough for shintai, but enough to fight our way out of a situation.
Maybe leaving the submersible behind will have enough magic resonance to count.
We could go all in: buy a GPS module, install it into the submarine, then HMP it. Have it serve as the guardian of the lake or some such.

Might not have to dumb it down. Just have a high enough quality workstation. Also learn that charm for allowing us to teach someone quickly and well.

Infernal teaching charm is, to put it bluntly, total sh*t because of its side-effects:
Completing a training regimen under this Charm
makes the acolytes into creatures of darkness, if they
were not already. Additionally, each course of training
alters an acolyte's personality in the following fashion:
• After one course of training, he will grow to vio-
lently despise one concept specified by the Infernal.
• After two courses of training, he will only speak
a selection of languages approved by the Infernal, and
will learn the primary language among this approved
list if he does not already speak it.
• After three courses of training, he will only wear a spe-
cific uniform or style of clothing endorsed by the Infernal.
• After four courses of training, he will shun and
scrupulously avoid certain actions or modes of thought
proscribed by the Infernal.
• After five courses of training, he will adopt one obliga-
tion he must regularly discharge, as defined by the Infernal.
I mean, we could maybe swing 2 courses of training as long as the languages approved by us are "all languages". And becoming CoD is probably not a good thing, fluff-wise.

EDIT: Oh, and it doesn't allow us to teach Hedge Magic (ie paths). Only:
30 experience points to spend raising their Physical
Attributes, Manipulation, and Alertness, Brawl, In-
timidation, Larceny, Melee, or Occult Abilities. No
Ability can be raised higher than that of their Infernal
instructor. This Charm can be used on the same aco-
lytes repeatedly, but bestows only 20 experience points
on subsequent training regimens.

I'd suggest getting Perception up as well, to catch Man's tells.
All Things Betray is a DC modifier that reduces the DC of all Perception rolls by -3 for a scene.
And as a 2 dot charm, it costs the same 8xp as increasing Perception 2 to Perception 3.
If you're speccing for Mab, this is arguably a better purchase.

I am inclined to get Ego-Inffused Pattern Primacy. This is not the first time we were hit with magic and we are "weak" to it.
So getting some anti-magic and anti-death curse charm will only help.
It is 20xp but we really need it, and it is useful considering we also heal agg damage at 1 hlvl per hour.
Expensive.
And Exalts have basic countermagic; they roll Wits + Occult at DC7 as a reflexive roll to defend against magics aimed at them as per the rules for nightfolk in M20 page 546.

For Molly thats Wits 2 + Occult 5. Could add an Excellency if we really want to go ham.
As far as Molly can tell the thralls which were so modified are still human, certainly once there is no sorcerer to control them some of them seem inclined to take revenge for their state. But there appears to be significant mental degradation and a spike in aggression even in the best case. the frogman Lydia helped to pass on was not even capable of speech anymore. In a bit of painful irony clarity grew with the nearness of death as the soul no longer had to function on the warped hardware of the altered brain.
Hmm. So this is a case where being turned into fomor is arguably a better option.
Well. The Fomor might get a surprise post-Hell when the Carpenter Doctrine outlaws magical slavery.

We could go all in: buy a GPS module, install it into the submarine, then HMP it. Have it serve as the guardian of the lake or some such.
Power.
No way to power any such thing, or to equip it with the sensors that would be necessary.

Once we get transcendent lord of the flies I think that Molly might start spending a lot of time in undertown. With that charm taking care of her basic needs is easier in under town then it is in her parents house and we have big project down their in any case.

Also why are people interested in
Opening her inner eye and attuning it to spiritual desolation, the Infernal gains the ability to detect potential servants or rivals, and to weigh the souls of those she meets. System: Reflexively spend 1 Essence. For the rest of the scene, the Infernal becomes aware when she stands in the presence of any creature of darkness, though she doesn't inherently know what sort of supernatural being any given individual may be. Furthermore, by concentrating on a specific individual for a few moments and making a successful Perception + Occult roll against difficulty 6, she can behold the subtleties of their anima and learn their current emotional state, as well as some clues about their nature. If you wish to embellish this with aura colors and the like, a chart can be found on page 136 of V20.
From just that it doesn't seem that interesting. We usually can identify most creatures of darkness with just empathy and occult rolls.
1)TLF has nothing to do with Undertown.
Dresden and vanilla mortals navigate it just fine without specialty equipment, even.

2)No we cant usually identify creatures of darkness that way until they become overt.
None of the Pathfinder guards pinged as CoDs until they went loud, for example.

Furthermore, it allows us to read people's emotional auras which is immensely valuable in social situations, and to make a good guess about what sort of supernatural creature they are, if any.
Is that person a ghoul, a Whampire, a Sidhe or a loup garou? This will allow us to guess.

We get Essence regen by learning supernatural secrets. This just turbocharges our ability to figure those things out.

I'll appropriate some of those if you don't mind. Also, I read the text to mean that Rhys the Ragged is dr. Niemi's real identity. @DragonParadox am I right or am I misreading this?
1)Rhys the Ragged we stabbed in the water.
Dr Niemi got killed by Michael and Lydia in the base.
Different people.

2) Trailer? Dude, we lodge in a hotel with an open parking lot. Our father drives an open-bed truck.
There are hard limits to how much stuff its even possible to carry, let alone carry discreetly. This is an urban fantasy, not DnD. You dont just get to strip places to bedrock and carry it off without drawing unwelcome attention.

Think large backpack, not vehicle.

3)Why are you spending a Craft Excellency for looting? No part of looting requires this.
Tool Constructs maybe.
Craft Excellency is just burning Essence for no reason.

4)We already proc'd Essence regen this scene I think.
Better confirm with the QM before you expect to get more Essence by using the Crown.

Craft excellency is for making a trailer. As long as we can get it to the shore, Michael could go grab his track and connect it to said trailer. To elaborate, I am picturing something like this. Only watertight (if this isn't, which I am not certian about). Perfectly mundane-looking. Shouldn't be that hard to make. I see no reason not to make it, if we can, and we can.
Power.
No way to power any such thing, or to equip it with the sensors that would be necessary.
Actually, how does power work for HMPed objects? Do we still charge Clippy at night, or does possession provide some kind of power? HMP definitely provides some manner of supernatural senses - it's not like Black Rider had cameras on the inside, yet it was still able to perceive its passengers. So, I am not actually sure about this. @DragonParadox how is this handled? If we slap a GPS module into the Yellow Submarine and HMP it, how would fueling and sensors be handled?

@DragonParadox what Uju asked. Are we entering a new scene, or continuing the existing one? Basically, can we recover essence via the crown here?

Still, even if not, 1 essence is what Lydia has, and she did well.

  1. Hollow mind Possession does not give the item power, it just sticks a demon AI into it
  2. As for Essence regen, yeah you are getting into a new scene

EDIT: Oh, and it doesn't allow us to teach Hedge Magic (ie paths). Only:
Maybe DP will allow us to buy the Dark Ages training charm "Oath of One Hundred Devil Disciples" instead.
It's 5 dots instead of three, but doesn't insist on Oaths or making Creatures of Darkness, though it can.

Oath of One Hundred Devil Disciples (•••••)
By accepting a mortal's oaths of fealty and putting him through a dedicated training regimen, the Infernal can transform him into a fanatical killer, and eventually, a devil in his own right.

System: The Infernal may personally train any mortal who has sworn some sort of formal oath of loyalty to her. During each day of training such a disciple or group of disciples, spend 1 Essence per student. At the end of seven days of training, all students gain 30 experience points to spend raising their Physical Attributes, Wits, and Alertness, Archery, Athletics, Brawl, Melee, or Ride Abilities. No Ability can be raised higher than that of their Infernal instructor. This Charm can be used on the same students repeatedly, but bestows only 20 experience points on subsequent training regimens. Any unspent experience is lost. Alternately, rather than bestowing 20 experience from a subsequent training regimen, the Infernal may instead infuse the wicked powers of Hell into them, transforming them into bakemono – a sort of monster that shapeshifters know as fomori. Rules for fomori can be found on pages 428-439 of W20.
The Infernal can continue to train her Devil Disciples after they have become bakemono, if she wishes.

Don't forget 4 XP for a Technology Excellency. That's definitely on my wishlist. Don't expect to get it, given what else needs buying, but it's still something I want.
Its on the wishlist.
Probably not this turn, just like I've resigned myself to not getting Windborn Stride this turn.
Maybe the next if we can squeeze out 4xp before talking to Mab.

I am now imagining ghoul staffed sweat shops mixed up immortality potions by the vatfull.

They visited for a few hours. I very much doubt that they could have found food or shelter there. TLF means Molly has an easier time in urban decay than a human in a restaurant.
Homeless people canonically live in portions of Undertown.

The human sorcerer in the Downtown graphic novel canonically lived in Undertown. The grendelkin in the Heorot short story lived in Undertown. The first time Nicodemus came to Chicago in Death Masks, he and his minions were based in Undertown. When Vittorio Malvora was scheming in White Night, he did so in Undertown.

Undertown is dangerous primarily for its inhabitants.
And its hardly some isolated spot; its literally under Chicago. Lots of people and creatures take shelter in Undertown and do their business in Chicago proper.

1)Not just a trailer, but an amphibious trailer. I fear you are being unduly optimistic.

2)I know fuckall about trailers.
But I am reasonably certain you cant throw together even a rudimentary open-bed trailer from the contents of a Fomor RnD outpost.
Not in a couple minutes, and not in a couple hours.

I doubt you can find*checks* 300 kilograms of automotive building material here.
RnD site, not automotive scrapyard.

3)And like I said, hotel. You dont just park a trailer in a hotel parking lot

1)No, HMP does not provide power. It was addressed around when we summoned Clippy.

2)Cyberdevils do have local senses in their vicinity. See the Beige Wagon when a Feeb tried to bug it.
Dedicated sensors help, of course, but they arent blind.

However its rather pushing it to expect surveillance of a spot a mile or more offshore and underwater without dedicated sensors IMO. But thats just my two cents.
Still, even if not, 1 essence is what Lydia has, and she did well.
Lydia had 1 Essence, and presumably got Essence back for the frogman.

Thats the one I want, frankly. I prefer it to Chirality Prohibition Index.
There's a couple Dark Ages charms I would love to get my hands on.

If you still want to have something changed in Lydia's Charmset I would really prefer to see it done before we get to spend XP on her.

After that there's a qualitative difference between changing Charms that she already has and those she doesn't have and so on and I wouldn't really feel comfortable doing more editing myself without asking DP about each change one-by-one, rather than leaving things to veto as so far.

Also I looked through it again and there's really not too much of a difference to the Dragonblooded Essence-costs.
Most of her charms cost only 1 Essence with a few exceptions and she will just have to be more careful in spending the Essence than Molly, as a DB would have to be.

There should be gurneys and trolleys and metal cabinets. Those can be re-purposed relatively easily (in exalted terms).

Amphibious in the sense of being watertight. Should be doable.

It's not like we are staying here long.

Doesn't allow us to teach occult, though, or any kind of magic. Good for brawlers, though.

There is space for custom magic and nerd training charm/Legendary Scholar Curriculum in either Kakuri or Wicked City. Probably Wicked City. We'll poke at it once we are actually allowed to homebrew new charms. Probably as a higher-dot charm than solar equivalent, but wcyd.
Lydia, essence-spending
Given that primary essence-guzzler charms are Excellencies, it is worth remembering that Excellencies last for [Essence number + 1] of turns. A lot fewer things scale with Essence in ExWoD than in E2, but some important things still do.

@DragonParadox , what's about Niemi's death curse?
Requirements
1)You need the power of a White Council wizard-equivalent or close to it.
Kravos and Victor Sells were both sorcerers, and neither had the power to throw around like that.

2)You need the will and preparation to use it.
Arianna Ortega, Bianca St Claire and Grevane were all White Council level, and none of them were prepared or had the state of mind to use it when death came for them.

3)You need the time to prep it. Butcher says something along the lines of 2-3 seconds to chamber the spell and get it off.
Corpsetaker didnt get it both times she was killed. Peabody didnt get the opportunity.
Neither did Thorned Namshiel, or Lasciel/Hannah Ascher, and both were Denarians.

4)Its a mortal wizard thing.
I dont recall it being said that Mavra's death curse is a thing afaicr.

1)I'll take your word for it. If anythi g extra occurs to me, I'll let you know.

If she's a Terrestrial-tier Exalt, she presumably gets access to the Jade Talisman Background(headband, ring, sword pommel etc). Which allows her to store/recover up to [Background rating]motes of Essence in a day.
Which rather helps with the whole mote scarcity thing. I'd have put her at Liminal tier, at least, but thats me.

2)This is inferior to the native, free countermagic available to an Exalt in ExWoD.
Warding of Divine Ancestry (•••••)
The Exalted solidifies her Essence to resist hostile magic and the powers of chaos.
System: Whenever the character is the subject of any hostile supernatural power that seeks to transform, infect, taint, transport, or control her body or spirit, the difficulty to do so is raised by 1. If affected anyway, she may spend 2 Essence and roll Stamina + Occult against difficulty 8. Success shatters the magic, protecting the Exigent completely. Since this expenditure isn't reflexive, the Exigent may spend a few moments fluctuating in mid-transformation or teleportation, as her Essence battles with the magic seeking to suborn her.
Exalts already roll Wits + Occult at DC7 reflexively.
The bolded portion should probably get buffed. My suggestion would be either:
A)Drop the cost to 1 Essence, make it reflexive, and have success immunise her against repeat attempts for the rest of the scene/day. OR
B)Drop the cost to 1 Essence, make it an activated scenelong or daylong defense, and make it raise the difficulty for hostile magic to pass from DC7 to DC9. OR
C)She can extend it for free to her animal/spirit companions or anything she summons. Making banishment that much harder
D)Combination of some of the above.

5 dot, 20XP charm. Should be Serious Business.

As the Exigent calls for more Iron to protect her and aid her the very world around her reacts to her Essence and chips and shards and arrowtips fly around her form.
System: Reflexively spend 1 Essence. For the next (Essence rating) minutes, the Exigent adds two dice to all soak rolls, increases the difficulty of all ranged attacks against her by +1, and anyone within three yards of her must soak two levels of lethal damage per turn. If she also has the Charm Tools of Iron, this Charm deals aggravated damage against ghosts and fey.
You might want to clarify if she can exempt her allies from this.
Doesnt really matter to Molly, but it matters to Lydia if she has animal/spirit/ghost companions or mortals in her retinue when she activates this.

4)Just commentary:
Companions of the Hunter (••••)
The Exigent may lay her blessing on an Animal she associated with, permanently empowering it as a part of her hunting party.
System: Choose a friendly Animal that falls either under Speaker to Crows and Hounds or that is a horse and spend 5 Essence while spending at least 2 hours paining its fur or feathers with magical symbols in woad.
The Animal gains 30 XP that it can freely spend on attributes and skills (including on greater Intelligence) and (5+Essence) points it can spend on Special Advantages (From Gods and Monsters).
A creature can only benefit from this effect once and the Exigent can only have (Essence*2) Animals blessed like this at the same time.
This has interesting implications assuming she takes them as high-rating Familiars.
Especially once they hit Familiar 4, and she can buy 1 of 3 charms/powers for them.
Not unbalanced, just interesting.

See, for example, what happens when she takes Bestial Traits Technique with an Owl or Crow.
And it gives her wings for the duration.

5)Thematically?
She needs a Transcendent Lord of Flies/Harmony With Nature Approach clone.
Psalm 23 style.

I dont think that it should cost someone who is death-aligned to avoid environmental hazards.
She's (a)death's chosen; most shit will leave her be.
Or maybe its something to be better represented by a Merit? Dunno

-Research charm.
She has a huge library inherited from her father, and is someone who likes books; she needs a charm to interact with it and open archives. See Gale Force Research Technique in the DB charmset.

Maybe, do you want to design one?

Research/Academics Charm

Arc 3 Post 27: Homeward Bound
Homeward Bound

26st of July 2006 A.D.

Though dad seems a little weirded out at your resolve to loot everything of value Lydia apparently finds it perfectly reasonable. 'To the victor go the spoils'. Actually that may have been Lydia's dad giving her advice on how to deal with the aftermath of battle. That's OK, a medieval outlook suits you right down to the ground, down to bedrock in fact.

You spend the next six hours moving all the valuable and fragile stuff up to the surface with the submarine, pills and precursors, electronics and more of that black stone meant to contain gossamer, surgical and scientific equipment some of which turns out of be even weirder than you had anticipated. What did they need a seismograph for?

Oh...

"If they drew on the Dragon Lines too hard at the wrong moment it could have caused an earthquake..." you trail off at the look of horrified understanding from your father and Lydia both, halfway between tearing a fan out of the wall. "If the grey thing had more time to prepare, or if Niemi had the time to attune himself to the Nest before we got to him either of them could have intentionally fed entropic power back into the system and caused the earthquake."

"How bad would it have been?" dad asks, but you can only shrug.

"Too many factors in play, how committed the caster was, how much they understood geology, it could have been really bad or just scared some pets and rattled some windows."

In spite of trying to end on a more optimistic note the three of you continue to work in silence, the feeling of something dark looming just on the other side of the darkened horizon pressing down upon you all. That feeling has a name, Corb, king of the Fomori and it seems ultimate patron of this house of horrors. The unwholesome visage of a man, if man one can call him, with blue green-skin, watery eyes and and an unnaturally large mouth flashes through your mind's eye as you look upon the place with eyes of fire.

By about five AM you had gotten the fragile and perishable stuff out onto the shore of the lake and with a bit of luck dad had pulled up the pickup to get it all out of there without being seen. Well a bit of luck and a few demons messing with the police radios to make sure no one is paroling where they shouldn't and the cameras that might see him all mysteriously freeze up.

As for the stuff that is too heavy to bring up through the lake and too obvious even if you could do it you and Lydia follow the escape tunnel into the sewers and, finding no more Pathfinders, or worse things about, you stash electrical wiring, pipes, fittings furniture and furniture into a formerly walled off branching path. From the looks of splintered boards and barrel hoops this must have once been the adobe of smugglers, but unless there are any ghosts about, which Lydia assures you were are not, no one should know this place is still here and when you are done you wall it up same as you had found it. Good thing sewer sized forklift is among the tools you can conjure, even if it is a bit disconcerting the way the headlamp flashes and the clamps clatter in excitement as they were being used.

Gained
  • Materials for Alchemy Laboratory ● ; Also provides a 50% XP discount in buying Alchemy ●●●●
  • Stash Sufficient to upgrade the Dragon's Nest in Chicago to Dragon's Nest ● ; Must be recovered as part of a later action to use.
No matter how hard you looked through the files at the base you could not find any hint of who the poor people twisted by the tainted pills used to be. It had simply not concerned Rhys where the 'materials' for his work had come and it would take you weeks to find all their names one question at at a time. The most you can give them as the pyre burns unnaturally hot illuminating the rusted scaffolding of Euclid Park is a quick prayer from dad and a helping hand from Lydia for those who want to pass on. There are a few more shades among the brightly dressed carnies by the time the flames burn down, but you really do not have the time to linger and say hello. Maybe when you come back for that stash.

Grim as the end of it all had been you are happy that you did end it, here in Cleveland at least. There is still more of these monsters out there, and more vampires, no matter how badly you had scared Don Phillipe and his lot you have no doubt that his masters will have their own plans for you. You will just have to dissuade them of the notion... and you won't be alone doing it.

You smile up at Lydia as she tears into the bag of liquorice with a fervor that only the hunger of someone who had been up all night can account for.

"Dad you are going to have to get us to a drive-through fast or Lydia is going to start eating the seating next," you call up.

"Hey, they aren't that bad..."

"Quick, she's getting delirious," you quip back.

Anima Power
Ankou's Eyes:
By spending 1 Essence the Ankou's Daughter can force any ghost withing her line of sight to manifest in the material world and become vulnerable to mundane weapons. After (Essence) rounds in combat or minutes outside of combat the ghost may attempt to become immaterial again, by rolling his Pathos until he gains a number of successes equal to 2x the Exingent's Essence score.
Further, while her Anima flares all ghosts in its light become clearly visible.

Backrounds:
Ressources 4

Mentor 1 (Arawn)
(To note, this does not mean he is a bad or weak mentor, but he seemed very much the type to let Lydia figure out her answers by herself. She could propably increase this backround, representing convincing her dad to help her more)

Merits/Flaws:

Vanilla (1 pt. Flaw) Oh my gods, you're such an innocent! In a world filled with sex magick and power plays, you're the little lamb who's strayed far away from home. Jokes get past you, clues escape you, and references to anything rawer than a Disney flick go straight over your head. Maybe you grew up in a secluded place with overprotective parents; or you could be in denial about the things you see all around you because life can't possibly be that twisted… can it? Regardless, hold firm to your innocence. Once it's gone, it ain't never coming back again!

Prestigious Mentor (1 pt. Merit) Your Mentor (as in the Background Trait of that name) has a reputation that benefits you as well. When you're making social rolls to invoke your influential teacher, reduce the difficulty by -2. Of course, some folks will be somewhat less than impressed; for rolls that involve rivals or enemies of your mentor, add +2 to the difficulty unless that mentor scares the shit out of them… in which case, you had damned well better be able to live up to the fear his name invokes!

Natural Linguist (2 pt. Merit) You're especially good at understanding how people communicate. Every purchase of the Language Merit (see above, and Mage 20, Appendix II) secures two languages for you, not just one. You also get three bonus dice when making rolls based upon clear communications, typically ones employing Art, Expression, Etiquette, Leadership, and other Traits that involve "speaking their language" to impress someone else.

Charms:

Excellence of the Tireless Psychopomp (•)
The Exingent can draw on their divine Essence to fullfill its eternal duties with skill and power beyond any mortal.
System: The first time the character purchases this Charm, it may be applied to any of her Divine Attributes. At any time, the player may reflexively spend 1 Essence to add (Current Willpower) dice to all rolls using a relevant Attribute for (Essence rating + 1) turns in combat, or minutes outside of combat. This Charm can be repurchased to unlock additional Attributes, but Essence must be spent to add dice to each Attribute separately

Speaker to Crow and Hound (•)
The Exigent has a natural connection to certain animals, particularly those associated with Death. This includes Hounds, Corvidae and some cats.
System: The Exigent can always be understood by the animals and they are usually inclined to fullfill her requests within the limits of their own comprehension.
By spending 1 Essence the Exigent can build an obviously supernatural connection to a single present animal, allowing her to share its memories and thoughts and to give it much more complex instructions for one scene.

Open the Way (••)
The Exigent has an affinity for the opening of otherworldly paths.
System: Spend 1 Essence and roll Perception+Occult (Difficulty local Gaunlet-rating) to open a Way. This can stay open for the rest of the Scene and be passed by entities from both sides.

Rest-Granting Strike (••)
The Exigent can send a creature to permanent rest.
System: When the Exigent slays any being, the player can opt to roll Wits + Occult (difficulty 6). Doing so prevents spirits (below Incarna-level) and ghosts from ever returning or reforming, prevents any ensouled being from becoming a wraith. The Exigent gains 3 Essence on the spot if the annihilated being was in any sense immortal, such as a spirit, ghost or vampire. Furthermore, the Abyssal can reflexively spend 1 Essence to gain the ability to strike and damage intangible beings for the rest of the scene, so long as she can perceive them

Chariot of the Earth (•••)
With a gesture of her hand the Exigent raises the earth to carry her on to her target.
System: Spend 1 Essence to conjure a wave of earth that can carry the Exalted and (Essence +1) passengers at up to 60mph. The earthwave leaves no traces and is in no way limited by its own size, allowing it to be ridden through narrow corridors.
When the Exigent wishes she can use the earthwave as a weapon, striking with Dexterity + Athletics at a target and dealing 5+Essence Dice of Bashing Damage on hit.

Thoughts of Oak Defence (••)
The Exigent solidifies her desire and duty, pushing away any externally-imposed thoughts or feelings.
System: Reflexively spend 1 Essence to utterly reject all thought and emotion-altering magic from a specific character or source for the rest of the scene.

Essence Regain:
3 +Essence each Midnight
Regain 2 Essence once per scene when bringing a restless dead to final rest, slaying a Necromancer or giving a dying person the last comfort.

There should be gurneys and trolleys and metal cabinets. Those can be re-purposed relatively easily (in exalted terms).

Amphibious in the sense of being watertight. Should be doable.
1)RnD center, not a hospital. And not even a legit RnD site, more one of those modelled on Mengele.
You're looking at stone and coral and shit primarily, not all that much metal.

2)Its the Fomor.
You overestimate their solicitude.

It's not like we are staying here long
Long enough to get towed.
Long enough for someone to crack open the flatbed and steal shit.
If we are continue doing Terrestrial+ thing with Lydia, this is fine, but otherwise this probably should be x5 at best. Terrestrial Exalt are not peers.
That was deliberate. The Exigent raised by a death god and speaks five languages at 15, you expect it shows.
Yes, its deliberately very efficient, at least situationally.
Its also requires a bunch of prerequisites to work properly at full efficiency.

EDIT
Update!

That does sound good.
As far as I know @DragonParadox hasn't revealed if there was anything special among the things her father left her, an Essence-storing Talisman sounds like an option?

This is literally the Dragonblooded anti-Shaping Charm?
It is not the greatest, but it is Perfect in its own way and will resist Mab attempting to turn you into an ice-statue in the very heart of her power as well as it would any regular deathcurse.

You might want to clarify if she can exempt her allies from this.
Doesnt really matter to Molly, but it matters to Lydia if she has animal/spirit/ghost companions or mortals in her retinue when she activates this.
Maybe Those marked by her power could be exempt?
Meaning animal-companions or people wearing her anti-ghost rune?

This has interesting implications assuming she takes them as high-rating Familiars.
Especially once they hit Familiar 4, and she can buy 1 of 3 charms/powers for them.
Not unbalanced, just interesting.

See, for example, what happens when she takes Bestial Traits Technique with an Owl or Crow.
And it gives her wings for the duration.
Keep in mind that the Animal already gets special powers from this Charm, from the Gods and Monsters list.
There's a lot of interesting stuff to buy for 5+Essence Points on there.

Stalker in the Wild (••)
The Exigent is a hunter in forest and sky alike and the world does not hinder her hunt.
System: Reduce the difficulty of survival rolls to feed or protect yourself and others in any kind of wilderness natural or magical by 2. Animals never willingly harm the Exigent except in self-defence, regardless of training
By spending 1 Essence the Exigent becomes immune to a single type of environmental hazard for the rest of the scene.

Something like that?

That's pretty poweful, though I'm not against it if @DragonParadox approves.
Using her powers for academics was just a reference to her Excellency though.
She uses Divine Attributes and Intelligence is one of hers.
