Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Might we want to spend a willpower here? This is going to be a roll that is both difficult and very important. If she gets away we are going to be in trouble.
[X] Ignore the ghosts, you are tough, go after Lydia
-[X] (STUNT) You do not move, you move and the world trembles, knowing better than to oppose you. The air parts, sound muffling, light bending, all giving way to you. You see a rain of blows falling down on you but you persevere. Resisting spectral hands to get at your prize.
-[X] Activate IPM
-[X] Spend additional WP for success

Good idea.

Okay, I really don't like this stunt, because the requirement for a stunt to be two dice instead of one is that the stunt has to meaningfully interact with the environment. This stunt doesn't do that, that I can tell, which means that it's only worth one extra die instead of two. Not great when we're pushing for every advantage we can get.

Hello Capi.
If we'd visited Mortimer earlier we'd have probably gotten a headsup on some of this.

@DragonParadox
QUESTION
1)Can Molly hit the possessing entity with her sword without hitting the victim? Does it require a Occult roll?
2)Can Molly apply her movement speed here?
3)Do we know what the stone dragon will be doing? Will it take orders?

Need to run an errand. I'll be back soon enough.

-[X] "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil"
-[X] Trust your father to deal with the possession. Trust Gard to deal with the spirits. It's your job to ensure the bastard doesn't get away with his hostage. Tackle her to the ground and grapple her.
-[X] If successful taunt the bastard with "The only way out for you is through ME you bastard!" Try to trick him into trying to possess you.

... Is taunting a free action. :V

  1. No she cannot, that would take specific magic of one kind or another
  2. Yes, not sure why she would not be able to
  3. He is currently just standing there watching, earth elementals do not do well with surprise. He does not seem to be too troubled by the ghosts. As to whether he will take suggestions, not way to know without trying, you just met him

Corpse taker is really betting on a complete win here aren't they? The personal grudge of a death god, even a retired one, is no small thing.

Really I'm curious about what they plan to do about Mab. The winter court might play games, but once the rubber hits the road there are Oaths to be kept.

They basically earn a permanent and prominent spot on Mab's shit list forever. Which isn't necessarily a huge deterrent for a crazy necromancer, but I'd assume they put some thought into it at least.

This isn't the darkhallow; they can't expect to come out strong enough that Mab isn't willing to overtly act.

But the Ankou is the guy would usually use to send after a Necromancer or ghost.

So it's a bit of a double whammy, it gives Mab reason to go after her, but it also removed her best tool to do so.

Not her only tool, but her best.

Yeah, but it's worth noting that Mab has pull in surprising places. She basically built the modern supernatural international order on the strength of her reputation.

Even assuming Ankou's fey employees aren't up to the task themselves, she can call in favors all over the world to get people who are good at this make a point of screwing corpse taker over.

Again, not insurmountable, but not something you can write off with a shrug either.

So, for practical action we should do two things:
1. Activate Impervious Primacy Mantle. The Capricorpus is a Mind-mage, as proven by the fact that DP rolled Mind for clinging to the possession. That means it can fuck with our head if we let it.

2. Activate our Anima. If we get attacked by ghosts we absolutly need the surprise-negator to avoid extra-damage.
IPM is unnecessary expense.
Any attempt to possess Molly in this scenario, with her father under attack, runs face first into her Michael Intimacy and fails hard.
If there's any chance of it working, it activates reflexively.

Besides, Capriocorpus has acted.
Its our turn to act.

Pity.
Oh excellent. Capi is not going to know what hit them
Oh, okay. I guess we can ask.

Plan in a bit.

If there's any chance of it working, it activates reflexively.
Only if Molly realizes it is needed.

Gorfel almost got away due to that despite Michael actively fighting. It did not get activated automatically and won't unless Corpsetaker actually is an active threat against Michael.

If she simply runs, it won't activate.

No, thats was fluff, written by the GM to pretty up the scene.
Mechanically IPM activates the same turn its needed because its a reflexive power.
Note that Gorfels did not get the opportunity to move anywhere significant before Molly shrugged it off? If he'd had a turn to move, he could have been 20 yards away.

I quote the QM. 1 more success and Gorfel would've gotten away.

IPM did not activate on it's own.
Molly had to notice to activate it.

Oh if she were within reach definitely. Unfortunately she's what 20 feet up and x feet away while being close to a portal and Molly can't fly...

Yes I am becoming persuaded to vote for flight
This is a good point.

-[X] (STUNT) You fluidly rise rise from your seat and jump onto the Earth-Wyrm's nose in a single motion, landing in a crouch. "Throw me," you hiss, and are immediately launched upwards, adding your own jump to increase the height you reach. Specters reach out to stop you, but you use their momentary tangibility against them to use them as stepping stones, throwing your shield to embed in the stone of the gateway as you reach the level Lydia and her possessor are on.
"Only way out is through ME," you growl as she turns back towards you in shock.

Thinking about it more, shouldn't we go for melee instead of brawl here?

We can slap her with the flat of the blade, and use the stupid large dice pool and -3 difficultly from WHWH to do so in a way that trips her up without causing lasting harm.

Seems much more likely to work than a tackle at 7 dice.
