Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[x] [Reveal] Melee Skills, Green Fire, Mental Defense, Cyberdemons/Helper Spirits, Anima Flare
[X] [Ask] What are Katrina's known capabilities? How does she fight, what should you look out for? Importantly, do you need to worry about death curses when fighting her? And, if Gard knows, how is she afraid of death? The ritual she's attempting won't work otherwise, but such a fear seems to run counter to her nature.

The very idea that we should share all our abilities with Marcone and Monoc Securites and anyone who chooses to pay them is crazy.

They are not our friends. They are probably temporarily cobelligerents. That's it. Revealing critically important details about our power set is a catastrophically terrible idea.

Similarly, only asking Gard minor details about power sets is a waste of time. We can talk about that later. Ask what they can do to solve the problem in front of us right now. Ask if they can contact Lydia's father through her to warn him. Ask if they have the contacts to get Harry out of jail right now. Don't just chat about minor tactical details while letting the enemy retains the initiative and do whatever the hell they want. Try to change the game in our favour; not just passively wait for them to act and try to be marginally better at reacting to it.

I think of it as the Tutorial Urge, it's really very front-loaded over the course of a long quest. :p Eventually Molly is going to be mostly caught up and it'll drop off.
You're not wrong, but I think it'll hold up fairly well overall.

Low hanging fruit will get hard to find, but it keys off of more than grand secrets of the universe.

Learning about various groups secret plans should be a viable way to gain essence on the fly, and if we want to cheese it in character we could always take one of the sensory charms that let you stare into the spirit world and gaze into the howling abyss of the nevernever for secret knowledge.

We're an infernal, so I think by the time we run out of safer topics peeping on demon gods and eldritch wastes at the borders of reality should be decently safe. :V

[X] [Reveal] Be straightforward about your abilities and answer questions. You don't need to hide much here aside from the fact that you're still growing. Everything else is basically fair game really.

Why would we mention anything related to the Cyberdemons? That's completely irrelevant to this discussion and the upcoming fight, and reveals a huge aspect of our power for absolutely no reason. We just need to say we have the ability to track the car we marked, if it becomes necessary.

Well we at least know odin is benevolent word of god from jim butcher though uhhhh doesn't mean we couldn't be at opposite ends at some point who knows. Also how many mantles he has who knows before odin he could of been something else who knows in dresden files after all. and mantles affect their users who knows how many he has and what hes wearing at any given time.
My good sir, are you suggesting we will end up fighting SANTA CLAUSE?!

What exactly does Molly IC know about her shintai? I get that it's nothing specific, but is she aware that she might have weird extra powers she could pull out in an emergency, to at least warn her allies to limit the extent to which it freaks them out?

[X] [Ask1] Does Monoc have any contacts who can help Dresden who's off the field at the moment? He was involved in this business.

To be frank, aside from our question / answer thing we're not that big a deal in the supernatural world yet. Our biggest strength is that we grow.

About the cyberdemons thing, why don't we just tell her that we slipped a magical tracker on her car when she left us alone with it for a little longer than is wise? Technically true, while vastly understating our abilities.

This seems dangerous to me. The crown for example is way too dangerous to tell anyone about; Gard isn't our friend, we don't need her trying to exploit us. Especially since we're not even getting something as weak as a promise to keep it to herself.

The cyber devils are also a huge red flag; either we reveal how bullshit what we're actually doing is or we try to make her buy that we aren't an irresponsible child playing with devils. It's also a lot easier for her to plan against once she knows what to look for.

We can share enough to be useful without being direct or explicit.

Really good with a sword and tracking something we stuck to her car is good enough to get the job done.

If needed we can say that we can scry for sound through our focus, or burst it to screw up the car.

It sounds a lot more plausible and doesn't give the game away completely.

We could even simply say tracker. Not saying anything about magical or technological.
Technology does work fine around us after all.

[X] Goldfish

Goldfish, can you add something about us being immune to Capricorpus. It's relevant due to her presence.

We should also fill her in on the capabilities of Capricorpus and Matthews.

[x] [Reveal] Melee Skills, Green Fire, Mental Defense, Anima Flare, known capabilities of Capricorpus and Matthews, tracker on the car of Katrina
[X] [Ask] Capabilities of Katrina, relevant capabilities of Gard
[X] [Extra] Subtly use your crown to ask for Cindy's location

Done.

[X] We are an extremely skilled melee combatant, specializing in the use of a magical sword we can summon or dismiss at need. When we will it, our sword can harm beings who would normally be resistant or outright immune to damage, and this damage is difficult to heal, even for creatures capable of rapid regeneration. We, in turn, are more difficult to injure and can fight at full capacity with wounds which would be crippling if not fatal for a regular mortal. We are also highly resistant or immune to effects which target our mind.
-[X] Share with Gard what we have learned of Capricorpus and Matthews' likely abilities as well, along with the likelihood of mortal backup possibly being empowered with rage spirits or other supernatural enhancements.

[X] What abilities should we expect Katrina to display? What about Gard herself, at least that which is relevant in this situation?

Reveling way to much Information is bad.
Yeah.

If we reveal the cyber devils it'll be all of two seconds after she gets back to the office before she starts hiring exorcists as one example.

Sharing the crown makes us a target, and sharing CCC is the same thing as giving instructions on how to better contain us.

We don't need her to min max our abilities for us. We just need to have the initiative to apply them to the challenges in front of us.

The only thing I'd still add is that once we really get going we'll be flashing with green fire eyes.
Won't even need to mention what they do, just that we will.

This is a serious enough fight it will happen, better tell her about it before it happens.

Worth mentioning the occult 5?

I mean I know your going to say no.

But pointing out we can do more to disrupt the ritual than stab it might be relevant.

I think this falls into the category of do it ourselves.

We don't need her to be our brain for us; we can manage our own actions on site.

It's also not that useful in a planning sense. We can't seriously build something around the possibility that when we see the ritual we'll have the split second insight needed to do something clever.

If we do we should exploit it, but since we can't give a guarantee the reasonable plan to build is one that doesn't rely on needing to know more than who to stab.

That tactic works very well in DF, so there's not a lot of incentive to get fancy.
