Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Shadow Spite curse is not enough to do that even with a really good roll that's the only five dice and this is a ritually prepared spell.
Not on its own, no. But it will help wizards in countering it. They might not be able to handle the spell on its own, but with our help it should be more doable.
We could also just leave. I wanted to bomb the place, but getting bogged down here fighting a powerful vamp isn't good for our timetable.

What are we supposed to do if we end up taking significant damage or something and we get put on pause like happened in Vegas? Even in the best case scenario a bunch of essence spent now is an essence we need to recover for Peabody.
Tiffany can heal agg in combat time, so damage sustained is not an issue. Essence spent is a bit more of one, but Murder is Meat should help us a bit at least.

There's not going to be anything left of Peabody to get at Odin warned both the Gatekeeper and Arthur, I wouldn't be surprised if Peabody had already been captured under suspicion or executed at this point. Dresden also got in contact with McCoy now that there's a legitimate reason a lot of people are moving to decapitate this movement. We only came South at all instead of helping them decapitate because Morgan was in the middle of an ambush.

Counter spells work like normal spells when they're cast on other people if he has celerity he could just dodge and then activate the spell anyway or activate the spell and then Dodge. This assumes the Wizards are actually capable of counter spelling this blood magic when due to the Mage rules on how their counters spells work they would need the Spheres that would allow them to counter spell this kind of thing which only one of them seems to have the prime necessary to do so never mind if any of them have the correspondence necessary to stop this guy from killing all of the other people attached to this guy. It's just putting 500 people's lives on the line for very little real gain in my opinion.

MiM doesn't work on red vamps, they're not deathless enough.

Even if that's true, which isn't necessarily the case, the rest of the conspiracy is still a problem.

The rest of the conspiracy on multiple continents and have a grand total of 5 individual Wizards that went to ground if Peabody told them or don't realize they have a problem yet. I'm not going to say that it's not going to be an issue that we're depleted on Essence but most of the conspiracy are unwitting / hypnotized and we aren't spending Essence to fix that.

[X] Plan Good Hunting
-[X] Find it and kill it, trust the wizards to break its death curse becfore it can fire it
-[X] Renew BSM
-[X} Use Shadow Spite Curse to disrupt the death curse

I see no reason to duel. It is what the enemy wants, likely so they can either backstab us, or get away, or stall for time to summon reinforcements.
1) The Red King is almost definitely not here.
And whatever proxy he's using locally will have beaucoup meatshields. Think Vegas, only we dont have several backup squads of Hand agents with magitech weapons.

Hell, Molly's tracking isnt great, and the clone with a dedicated tracking Gift isnt here.

2) How?
The wizards are nowhere as mobile as Molly+Sophia are; they cant fly, and they are subject to terrain obstacles like mud, water, darkness and even animals like leeches, snakes and poisonous frogs.

You are leaving our entire reason for being here behind in order to chase after a phantom voice.
The idea of 5x wizards trying to run across South American jungle on a moonless night is a recipe for disaster.
And Sophia is not big enough to carry 5x wizards AND fight.

There is literally no reason to wait for the champion to get here to put up all of our Buffs they'll last the entire scene.
The reason not to do it beforehand is not to give multiple Red Court elders, including the prospective victim champion advance warning of what buffs we are putting up.
Thats why the only things my plan activates beforehand is
=Shield
=Anima banner for surprise negator

The less we show to the Red Court, the more remains a surprise, both now and later.
We could also just leave. I wanted to bomb the place, but getting bogged down here fighting a powerful vamp isn't good for our timetable.
Essentially this.

Take the assured fight, or give up and go home. The idea of spending effort and Essence, and risking our primary reasons for being here, in order to hunt down some dude who can run away and has a bodyguard retinue of unknown size is a distinctly high-risk, low payoff proposition.

Red Court venom is a thing that all Red Court vampires produce naturally, and can apply as a ranged attack.
Molly does not have a poison negator, and Exalted resistance is not absolute.
How many times do you expect Molly will make her Stamina roll if she gets hit by Rampire venom?

I put Fathomless Poison Haven in my last plan precisely because magical poisons(and corrosives) are a thing in this setting.
We've seen both the Red Court and the Fomor use it.

We've used those in every major fight that we have been some of which have been damn near televised (Turso, Walker) in you're not surprising anyone with us turning them on in the middle of a fight.

We have a potion recipe that would have given us a stone that would help our poison resistance but we didn't make any this turn like we didn't make any other active potions this turn. Thanks by the way some Magic Cleaner or Bodybuilding would have been great to have.

Speaking of which, I forgot to tell Sophia to activate Adaptation, which is her anti-poison Gift.
Going to edit plan now to include it.

The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy, no more no less.

Bad guys do not routinely share notes.
The only fight any Red Court vampire has seen us in and survived to report back was Cleveland.
The only thing they saw was VLE + sword, and even there it was underwater, so what they saw of VLE was unclear.

As evidenced by this scenario, we dont often get advance warning to go to the lab and make whatever we want whenever shit suddenly pops off. Thats why we have charms.

Like the god? cause sure I guess given gods are highly limited in the mortal world as far as I know.
Back when we were hunting Duchess whatever her name is with the skinwalker Molly picked up on the fact that Kukulan was lurking in the background and was, in fact, the source and the hidden ruler of the red court. From what I remember anyways, it has been a minute.

We did those things in essentially in public it doesn't matter if people don't talk to each other when hundreds of people see you perform in action and only a couple need to say something for it to get out it doesn't matter how secret it was. Never mind the fact that we used both steelskin and Viridian Legend exoskeleton to fight the Jades that were literally just in public.

No amount of charms can help you if you refuse to use your time wisely or otherwise use your clones time wisely.

We chose a discipline that requires time to use and make the most of and even with literal clones we didn't make the potions that could have helped us yeah it was definitely the fact we didn't have forewarning rather than we didn't have forethought. /S

Thats the name the Red King uses.
Don Phillipe de Leon called him that back in Cleveland in Arc 3.
Whether its actually his name, or its the name of one of the gods he usurped and impersonated, is unclear.

But given that I think Broken Seeker called him Kukulkan, its probably his real name in this AU.

1) We did not do those things in public.
Neither Avalon, nor the Raith party, had anyone who survived who was allied to the Red Court and would take them detailed reports of what Molly did or could do.

Furthermore?
The events of this arc were literally set off by the fact that a traitor on the White Council tried to watch Molly fight to see what magics she was using, because reports by wizards were not enough.

2) An expectation that a PC has infinite foresight and preptime is doomed to disappointment.

3)Yes, and we get plenty of use out of Alchemy.
Just the fact that we get to brew Malcoffee for extra AP justifies the XP spent on it. As does the fact that we can make some crafting reagents with Alchemy.

But expecting that Alchemy means you can justify manifesting shit with no preptime is foolish.
Especially since Alchemy is one of those Paths that requires a lab stocked with expensive reagents, the higher the Path rating the more expensive it is.

We literally fought one of the Jades in a hotel Lobby fought another one in the not crowded but not uninhabited undercity we definitely weren't hidden away from anyone when we were doing that and we were using steel skin and Veridian Legend exoskeleton to do it we fought the fake God in front of the entire summer Court it doesn't matter how many lips it has to pass through pretty much everyone heard it simply because fairies are not reluctant to tell people things they just require a price for it. There were literally dozens of white vampires at that Gathering where we fought the Walker they are also not reluctant to tell people things even if it is just there Offspring and descendants and servants Word of Mouth that just gets around.

You know you have to know that is not what I mean by thinking ahead or having foresight when it comes to Alchemy. We can assign SGI AP to making potions I was one of the people who asked you to make those two at least. It literally is a lack of foresight. No one is expecting potions to manifest out of fucking nowhere or us to spend time cramped in a lab but these things have a shelf life measured in days to weeks and every turn is a month long. There's this shyness about using what we have it does not at its core matter that some potions may go bad before we use them it is better to have them and not need them then to not have them at all. We are a resource 4 person who can make multiple thousand dollar gems with an afternoon of work we're not hurting for fucking money.

No amount of charms can help you if you refuse to use the shit you already have.

Well I mean I still don't think red king deserves antidiluvian levels of power because 10 dot powers are plot powers that allow shit like controlling the entire human races minds, fusing with gaia, literal invincibility, or erasing oneself from existence, shrouding the earth in darkness.

In order:
We fought a servitor of Emma-O in a hotel lobby with no recording cameras and the only witnesses were our allies or Kakuri servitors. We fought the Will of Kakuri in Undertown. The only surviving witnesses are Einherjar, Jade Dogs and servitors of Emma-O. NONE of them talk to the Red Court.

We killed the Skavis at the Raith party.
That party was specifically called to purge Red Court sympathizers who were planning a coup.
Nobody who walked out of there talks to the Red Court.

We killed Iku Turso in Avalon.
Nobody in the Summer Queen's Court reports to the Red Court, and provides them with detailed AARs of what happened and what was used.

Information is not freely transmitted, and whats common knowledge in one faction is not necessarily shared.
And not in detail.

To use an example from this quest, the nazi sorcerer Gorsuch heard about Dresden calling up a T-rex and riding it through Chicago. Enough people saw it that its a story. But he didnt know how it was done. And nobody who saw it did so in enough detail to explain it to him, so he was badgering Matthews about it, who hadnt seen it at all.

Man that is not true.
We are literally at Charisma 4/Manipulation 4/Appearance 3 right now because Molly has been drinking magical steroids she made with Alchemy in the plan we voted for. My plan didnt win, but it was using them as well.

Alchemical elixirs however, do not survive indefinitely, and dont just keep on the shelf. They also take time to make.
Nobody has the time or attention to track arbitrary inventory's worth of "I make this" consumable over months of playtime, so you make it when you want to use it.

And there are opportunity costs to spending AP for shit you arent using.

===
I genuinely dont get this argument.

We spent a charm slot on a demon sword instead of buying or making a magic weapon. We did the same with VLE instead of armor. This is because we know that when shit hits the fan, we do not always get the luxury of preptime, and going back to dig shit out of our closet. I dont see how you are having trouble grokking that its an issue now.

Nevermind the fact that that all poisons are not equal, and a Path 4 pan-specific alchemical elixir that improves resistance to mundane poison will be of reduced efficacy towards say Red Court venom or hydra's blood which is magic, and will do fuckall against something produced by the Secret Martial Art The Charcoal March.

Or by a god.

Resources 4 really aint very much.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars every month is a lot for personal flossing, but not so much when you have organizational requirements to pay for on the scale of a medium-size corporation.

Consider how much it costs to sustain the Jade Dogs every month; as of Christmas there were 110 people in Last Station, and that might have grown in size since. Not counting Nelson from Vegas.
Or Sanctuary's agents in the real world.

So do you just completely not believe anything you've said about information security in this world before or are you being a hypocrite I honestly can't tell anymore. Never mind the fact that I literally said fairies are just not reluctant to give away the information for a price you know like fairies are known to do. If you believe there is nothing any red could sell for the information I have a bridge to sell you in Tacoma.

My brother in Christ your plan literally won that is why we have fucking 80 doses of two potions and no one to drink the rest of that shit.
Plan has been updated with an Alchemy action at the very end, using the remaining SGI AP

It does depend on successes and you can of course make less, but with middling rolls up to 24 doses per session.
One clone could make a month's Supply of both potions within 3 days and you dedicated all of it to two potions wasting both at clones time and every potion that we cannot take before they go bad. No metal for the when the forge is ready, no stones of poison resistance, no counter Magic In A Bottle, no boosted stats in a bottle. Two potions the only thing that can really be said about it is a lack of foresight.

I understand what you're saying about the expiration date of the alchemical recipes but metal and a stone cannot go bad especially when the stone can make you extremely resistant to poison. Or when the health potions can have so many extra successes on them that would take literally a month for them to go bad. Never mind the fact that they would be made throughout the month. Especially when every success on most the potions pass the first goes into how long it can sit on a Shelf. Our clone can throw 12 dice at difficulty 3 for making potions so no you're just wrong about the expiration date.

Oh whenever we're low on Essence suddenly we have a fuck ton of time to just sit on our fucking hands but when it comes to actually preparing to do anything anything at fucking all it's go go go go yeah we definitely couldn't have a fucking waited the 5 minutes it would have taken to go to our fridge and take the potions out yeah I'm sure it would have been a real imposition. The fact that we don't have Prima Metallum armor and a magic sword is both actively to our detriment and not a good thing.

For all the red court and White court are enemies there are factions of both that are actively colluding such as black Council or privately so trading along Enemy Lines the fact of the matter is the whites are nowhere near as constrained as the fairies are when it comes to information spread in fact they are exactly as prone to giving away information as normal humans are which means extremely whether that be talking too loud in places they shouldn't or just talking to someone who has looser lips than them. Never mind the fact that we have multiple times in public dawned Viridian Legend exoskeleton and steel skin. No one who is paying attention is going to be surprised by them. Not to mention we've flown through the sky in Chicago before we wield a burning blade it's really not surprising anyone when we just have armor options.

*shrug*
They run Latin America. They cant be scrubs.
Their leader cant be a scrub. Blood addict or not.
bruh there's a difference between being a scrub and antediluvian powers which are literally world shaking ones like blot out the sun or mind control the entire human race. Methuselah powers I can see but even Mab only had like maybe one 10 dot equivalent ability and it doesn't even seem to be at will of causing an ice age.

We could also just leave. I wanted to bomb the place, but getting bogged down here fighting a powerful vamp isn't good for our timetable.
Take the assured fight, or give up and go home. The idea of spending effort and Essence, and risking our primary reasons for being here, in order to hunt down some dude who can run away and has a bodyguard retinue of unknown size is a distinctly high-risk, low payoff proposition.
You are leaving our entire reason for being here behind in order to chase after a phantom voice.
The idea of 5x wizards trying to run across South American jungle on a moonless night is a recipe for disaster.
And Sophia is not big enough to carry 5x wizards AND fight.
All of this. Also Uju's plan prepares the clone's actions ahead of time making full use of their abilities here.

Also has a Stunt for dice.

[X] Duel the Lord of Outer Night
-[X] Yourself
-[X] Sophia: Activate warform buffs + Mindspeech + Adaptation, prepare to activate Invoking The Spirits of The Storm, telepathy with Carlos and wizards for fighting retreat
-[X] STUNT:You wave off Carlos' objections with a smile."Its cool." Your caste mark begins to burn on your brow, even as eyes open all around you. "If Dread Kukulcan is looking to get some of his vassal lords killed..." You pitch your voice to carry, even as Dark Sun unfolds on your arm"I suppose I can oblige." You look in the direction Sophia indicates and continue. "Your champion has one minute to get here". Mentally, you continue. Prepare for a fighting retreat, Soph. And treachery.
