1) Lucy gets to move Coins by direct diabolic agency anyway.
If they are put anywhere they cant tempt people, whether its tossed in the sea, a volcanic caldera or the like, action gets to be taken.
I mean, its not been that long since Sanya tossed Magog in a canal; he was 21 when he left the Denarians, and he was still in his early to mid-20s when we first saw him.
Magog is back in circulation.
2)Swords can be physically damaged under the right circumstances. We've seen it happen.
We've also been told that both Fidelacchius and Esperacchius have been reforged multiple times, changing sword styles, with the only exception being Amoracchius.
They can also be temporarily depowered by misuse by someone who has the right to them.
Thats presumably why Dresden using Amoracchius against Lea depowered the blade(Dresden had an apparent right to it, having been given it by Michael), but Father Douglas using a Sword against Michael did not.
But I dont think there is any evidence that Swords can actually permanently lose their power.
I mean, sure, Michael moved to stop Mavra using Amoracchius to kill an innocent, but he was going to do that anyway. Thats the kind of person he is.
The Leanansidhe wouldnt have drawn the sort of aggro involved in giving a Sword to a Red Court member otherwise.
It would not have been in the interests of Winter.
Destroying the Coin frees the Fallen inside.
And a Fallen inside a Coin is a lot less dangerous than a free Fallen.
You're making a lot of assumptions in future coin mechanics and asides I said banish not destroy. Also other than that dp mentioned absorbing fallen power to break the cap or something to that affect on essence rating and reaching primordialhood. Not that I'm suggesting doing this I was more curious if it was part of the promise. Also your assuming there aren't multiple ways to deal with the coins from redeeming, to destroying, to absorbing, to banishing permanently. If any of those were impossible we wouldn't get an answer from the crown.
I suspect there were a lot of caveats to that statement, but yet eating energy fields larger than your head is one of the ways to get past the Essence Cap.
Speaking of Essence though, you guys are about to hit 4 Essence after this chapter.
Anyway good night guys, see you tomorrow with... cooking treats with the old woman in the woods.
no. Just no. "preventing chaos and widespread civil unrest" is only a worthy goal when they create additional suffering. If the "geopolitical power balance" maximizes the suffering of people, then it should be cheerfully burned down, and chaos should be a ladder thrown into the pit of despair for people to climb to salvation.
Please. These arent incomprehensible god-monsters of unknown motivations.
Even the non-human Yama Kings have entirely mortal aspirations, and Mikaboshi is one of the most mortal of them all.
Japanese!Kemmler is of mortal origins. His ambitions are mortal ones of conquest and control. A lot of his servitors are mortal. His methods exploit mortal society and borrow from mortal organizations, and he imports mortal ideas and inspiration, with explicit parallels being drawn to the worst excesses of Japanese megacorps.
Its a very human evil that we are looking at in the Wicked City, not something beyond mortal comprehension.
Thats why we recognize it.
You are missing the point. His "I want absolute power" motivation might be mortal (or was mortal at the beginning). However his methods of maintaining and gaining more power aren't. Normal humans cannot directly convert suffering into direct personal power. Normal tyrants have to rely on politics, otherwise they'll get couped or get shot by their own guards. This creates entirely different mechanics and modes of operation. MIkaboshi is no longer a human at all. he started as one, but he isn't anymore.
Anyway, the vote. @DragonParadox from what Molly knows of etiquette (maybe even a roll with an excellency) would CCG be considered improper / hostile / impolite?

That depends on if it breaks something, being fast itself is not a problem, but if you blow someone's metaphorical door off its hinges that would be trouble. If on the other hand it does not break anything, being unexpectedly prompt to a summons is a show of respect. So really it comes down to if you guy are willing to risk it.... also if you want to show off one of your Ancient Sorcery spells to some of the few people who might know something about it. Not that the fey are likely to blurt anything out but Molly is also very good at reading people.

Can we aim it not directly at the destination, but somewhere close to the destination? If there's a road to their house, then presumably there are points on that road we could aim at.
[X] Take the Long Road as most suplicants do

For now this. For now. I am not risking it, even if it's super tempting, and Mothers are probably expecting us to break something anyway, if they know exalts.
If there is a risk(I didn't think there even was one before) I'd rather not take it just to save time. No idea how the Summer Mother would react to us being rude so better to burn the hours walking there I guess...

Oh yeah you never said it'd work I don't remember exact wording either it had something to do with why is there an essence cap in the first place since exaltations are perpetual motion machines.

In fairness we at least know fae would want favors or trades for said information when they spread it out anyways. [X] Take the Long Road as most suplicants do

Honestly, I want to use the Calibration Gate, both because it will be a symbol of our capacity for the Summer Mother, but mainly because it is one of the few cases where its great cost is not a cause for fear. Since we bought it, we haven't used it once and that's really annoying.
If there is a risk(I didn't think there even was one before) I'd rather not take it just to save time. No idea how the Summer Mother would react to us being rude so better to burn the hours walking there I guess...
Might actually react well, even if there's damage. Mothers are one of the few beings that almost certainly remember exalts. This would just be a confirmation that we are a relatively typical one. It's the ones that are too cautious that you have to be worried about, after all.
Grape may get his wish after all. By the time we do use this thing we'll be breaking into the Outside and coming back as if the Gates aren't even there.
Having resolved to go the slow way you had expected to jog along after the fey herald down lanes and streets. Instead the girl, Last Bright Opal she asks to be called, seems fascinated at the idea of Black Rider and almost demands a ride. Then she proceeds to question every single traffic rule all the way to Harry's place and only abates when Tiffany gets in the car...
"Can you hear the storm, daughter of the ocean? Do you fear the sky child of the endless?"
To you they sound like nonsense limericks, but Tiffany answers instantly, rhyming as she goes: "Yes and less."
"Oh... that's weird," the girl replies, nodding to herself, but when you ask what's weird she just says: "Weird's good. She's a weirdo, not as much as you though."
"So I'm even better than?" you challenge. Faeries love nothing so much as a game and games are no fun halfhearted.
"Better or worse, hotter or colder, time will tell." Opal giggles, like any other little kid with a secret. "You mortals tell time way too many things, he's a snitch you know."
"Maybe we just tell him the things we want you to hear," you offer seriously.
She pretends to consider the answer for a long moment. "Nah," you just don't know when to be quiet. "Lets play a game, I'll prove it to you."
"Best not, we might get distracted, then Mother might miss us," you counter, not wanting to see what a fey this carefree and, you are starting to suspect, powerful would consider to be proving mortal follies. You have a sudden vivid impression of playing I spy while the street turns magenta and the trees plaid.
"Why would she miss us, she hasn't thrown anything yet," comes the counter quicksilver fast.
That's how it goes all the way down a wide and gently winding lane though that genteel part of suburbia that tries to be wooded enough for pictures and picnics and manages somehow to come off as more artificial than downtown office buildings. Here, nestled in the heart of the Cook County Forest Preserve among dogwood and redbud, white oak above a carefully managed stream flows embracing and defining the Chicago Botanic Garden, home to two point five million plants, some of them rare, all of them precious, the Award for Garden Excellence (2006) and apparently one of the swiftest Ways into Deep Summer that one might find while Winter's hand is still on the land.
But not all the trees here are local, or still tree shaped or alive and you don't mean the wooden fence. When Lydia walks out from under the bare branches of an oak it's with company of a sort. Two feminine figures armored in ceramic plating though obviously carved from dark wood and assembled like anatomically precise puppets stand silent guard beside your friend. The feel of the Essence within them alike to Lydia's own. Technically that would make them tree zombies...
"Hey Molly, I figured I'd take the girls for a stroll though the Nevernever before testing by fire... hopefully not literal fire. They are all treated with heat retardant epoxies and the armor is ceramic. I've been improving the design even since I gained the power to..." she makes a lifting motion with her hand, like raising a clod of soil.
Tiffany looks torn between 'impressed' and 'eye-roll'. Eventually she settles on both. "How many of these do you have?"
"Twenty four humanoid combat models and that does not count the single use delivery systems." She takes what looks like a chunky wheeled stake about a two feet long. It does not take you more than a moment to realize what they are meant to deliver.
"You made explosive tree zombie drones?"
Judging from the proud smile that slides its way over her face that is about the reaction Lydia expected. "Or you can put other things in them... like a plague of hope. They are not like your spirits, there's no sense of self, no mind that risks getting stuck in Yomi, just essence shaped to purpose, animate by my will. I wanted to see if they are fitting to the task at hand and would not presume to animate the matter of the Mother's realm."
"Oh... this is you being polite... oh dear..." Tiffany starts laughing, not just a little bit either, a full on belly-laugh. It does not get anymore reassuring when Opal joins in, her voice like onto pipes and rain among far off woods in springtime.
"Such lovely toys, I'm sure Mother will love them!"
The two guards and drone follow like clockwork along the Way as the artifact-forests of man give way to stranger vistas: branches reach down like feathers, fingers green curious at the intrusion, then upon translucent ivories playing an all-too-human symphony, from dawn to dusk and back again, the mountains rise beneath your tread and forests tall and strange around you seem to move, as though the nettles are conspiring with the heather, the longleaf pine whispering of fire to willows water loving. Here everything heals and everything kills, the dose makes the poison and there is no path but the steps of Opal ahead of you filling with dew as soon as she makes them, though morning and dusk chase each other across the sky glimpsed though the branches.
Beyond the path you glimpse men with no mouths that live off the smell of apple blossoms, deer footed folk with skin dappled with the shadows of the woods, butterflies pink and stiff, 'ears that had flown from the heads of those who listened to too much boring talk', flowers with the faces of unwanted children, here forever smiling. Those who think that Winter more fey than fey had never walked though the Sumerlands to hear men without without heads and yet still living, for here naught can die, sing thorough the stumps of bloody necks as they pluck unwilting flowers and weave them into crowns they cannot wear.
"Many precious reagents might here be found," Usum offers an edge of greed-that-is-also-yours to his words.
Oridinarily, to the extend that anyone walking this way could be called ordinary that would be song-drunk madness of the highest order, but you can make yourself unmoved by the wild lands. The question truly is 'should you tarry?'

OOC: Welcome to the depths of Faerie, deeper even than Avalon or Arcrtis Tor. Something about this place feels oddly familiar to Molly.
