@DragonParadox is there any salt around the room? Because I am thinking TTC to produce VX nerve gas neutralization system.
This is a club not a restaurant so unfortunately not. Clever thought though.

True, it just seems like a lot of concentrated force on this location. If Sandra had spit them up and up armed a few of them to hit multiple places at the same time we wouldn't have been able to stop her.All of them had the potential for mass casualties mind you, but yet this looks like a lot of contingencies

If each of her twenty thralls got an assault rifle and one duffle bomb and simultaneously hit multiple heavily populated spots around the city they could do a lot of damage.
Hell, at this level of effort she could potentially mess up one or more of the three water intake tunnels supplying 90% of the city's needs, wait a day and a half, then spark riots with mind magic to kill significantly more.
Along with her current location yes.First: I'm not following the thread. I assume we're hoping to have the essence to figure out Sandra's true plan/what this is a distraction for after this?
No, that's the part that makes it an amazing story to pull out once their children are right around their thirties. Young enough that you can still mess with them, old enough to shake it off instead of being traumatized.I've got this mental image of that arguing couple, the ones in the gimp suits, being exposed to the VX, but surviving the exposure due to their choice of attire. Or at least believing that's why they survived, because healing from a Fallen Angel definitely won't be the excuse they're given for not dying
Such a great story to be able to tell the grandkids, except for the part about wearing gimp suits in a sex club...
The thought was probably in regards to how you get salt around the rim of a cocktail/martini glass. There probably is salt anywhere you are likely to have cocktails but there wouldn't be shakers or anything sitting out. This is a club not a restaurant so unfortunately not. Clever thought though.
Or we just roll with it. "terrorists attacked. Magical people are helping you. Magic is a good thing". Ie get Lash some more faith, and use it to establish good first impression of magic to some people. Here's a ready made excuse for the magic to use on the local witnesses: They've been victims of a chemical weapon based terror attack done by extremists/terrorists and part of the symptoms of the weapon is vivid hallucinations as it messes with their nervous system. They may be sensing some strange shit (flashy light shows, loud noises, people looking weird/scary/unnatural, etc etc), but it's just in their heads and nothing to worry about as the effects wear off over time/with proper treatment if they are caught soon enough.
aka 'It's all in your head. Be cool.'
With respect? That rule section that you highlighted specifically talks about the attacking using mind hand manipulation not General actions performed using using mind hand. It is the first thing under the gadget section by the way
I disagree. Also that reading of charm language in that manner is really really not good. That sentence that you highlighted interpreted in that manner that you are using it means that you can't use mind hand manipulation to do anything but attack because it doesn't mention performance, intimidation or any other ability that you can definitely still do while having mind hand manipulation up.
Fair enough.I asked about this and the difficulty thing before making it. What we got was 1 dc 9 check that would fit in the turn. Should have had soak though.
It definitely wasnt random. Are we absolutely sure that that Silk was just an arbitrary selection of victim for Sandra's sacrifice/distraction?
Cause a suicide bomber, surprise gunman, duffel bag bomb, and VX are a lot for a randomly chosen victim.
Honestly, the time to spend ressources is now or never.
But thing is, this was planned and set up weeks or months beforehand. Before she became aware that a demigod warparty was coming to town for her head personally. Back when she was just facing the supernatural denizens of Vegas, most of who didnt even know they were at war, nevermind the identities of the other party.Honestly, the time to spend ressources is now or never.
In a day she has either won or is dead, maybe both.
Holding back any ressources, be it cultists, thralls, weapons or magic would be as stupid as keeping you potions for the next battle when you are already facing the final boss.
Worst case a bunch of deaths in the right locations are the primary component here.More worryingly, this makes me wonder what she has in reserve.
Because major unsealings are BIG magical rituals, which are both obvious, and require defending. If you look at Dead Beat and the bloodline curse at Chitchen Itza, the magicworkers had small armies to defend them while they did their nefarious work.
Im assuming she wargamed her worst-case scenario and prepared accordingly.Worst case a bunch of deaths in the right locations are the primary component here.
In which case she could send her cultists to die and still wouldn't fail.
But yeah, she probably has some assets that would have been able to fight off the locals, though the locals are in a terrible state right now. With the Dragon knocked out, Fortunato on the run and Winter unwilling to act openly in the city?
Her most dangerous planned-for foes are some Whampires, maybe some Rampires and a few minor practicioners. Worst case Ramirez is nearby and reacts too, one inexpirienced Warden.
Charon might be more powerful, but it doesn't look like he's intervening.
You don't need that heavy assets to deal with those.
Certainly nothing meant to stop Big Corey's gang and some currently leaderless Reds could stand up to our Party?
We have not seen or heard of any active Fey outside of Wildfey in this city.Winter may not be able to act openly in force in Vegas, but Summer is.
The Pallbearers are currently leasing a Summer Court outpost, and there's even more Summer Fae in Mount Charleston, less than 40 miles away.
Outside of town and pretty passive, if he even exists. And since the QM is drawing on the DFRPG, Charon is not the only one here; we havent seen the Cowboy yet, for example.
Outsiders could come in (in fact did with Molly) and she will have something up her sleeve for that likely case, so far I agree. And of course, wizards. That they arent local doesnt stop them being a threat.
A White Council warparty could have gotten a prophecy and showed up at any point via the NeverNever just like we did. And not just a relatively young newcomer like Carlos, but some of the OGs from Edinburgh.
Or worse, the Blackstaff.
