Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Why does this feel like Odin knows about the Kingdom charm? Or does he just know enough to know that we're going to end up ruling somewhere eventually because of the nature of our power?

What do you know, One-Eye? What do you know?

Free passage into Molly's Domain is bigger than even Odin knows (or guesses), but it's also bigger than Molly knows, and it feels like very much a metagaming option for players who have been reading up on the Kingdom charm. ;) I feel like Molly should value that option a lot because it's 3 points for relatively normal supernatural treaty politeness. Odin is reasonable to deal with.
Molly's secrets should be kept to herself both on general principles and because she's bargaining in a bad situation - can probably get more for those in better circumstances.
Craft sounds like it might be time-consuming to equip lots of einherjar, and/or leak some secrets too if they study the forging process closely.
Gard drives a hard bargain. So, if I'm being cheap here...

Base money: 2pts
Molly + Lydia in battle together: 4pts
Molly will probably overperform by the time she's called in, with her growth rate, and can help ensure Lydia's safety this way.

That's 6pts, maybe 9 if Molly gives in to the surprisingly reasonable request of letting Valkyries visit the Last Station and other domains later.

For 6pts we could get something like: Runecaster Valkyrie + 15 Einherjar Riflemen + Einherjar Heavy Squad.
For 9pts: Gard the Boss Valkyrie + Warrior Valkyrie + 15 Einherjar Riflemen + Einherjar Heavy Squad.

A spread of mass firepower with a sharp point.

-[] Crafting vehicles worthy to carry them in battle in this age of iron and flame 2 points
110% nope. Cash for rune caster and that's it. I don't want to deal with other exalts anytime soon, much less help someone else figure out how they work and where to find them.

AKA, the Overkill Option.

Let's call in heavy support and crush this incursion like a bug. Yes, it obligates us to assist Monoc in the future, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Those fights are sure to be worth good XP, after all. It doesn't give away critical information, however, nor open our future Hell up to Odin's people.

And while this does mean we have a lot of favors to pay off, that sort of debt can sometimes be a currency of its own. At least so long as the debt cannot be transferred. @DragonParadox, if we agree to aiding in future fights, Odin can't pass those markets in to others, such as Mab, can he?

Also, note that we generally want to be the ones to score the killing blow so that we can use MiM to spirit-kill them so that none of Emma-O's spent resources return to him. So a non-combat support might work better. And getting anyone at all means that they can spread the word about what happens to people who go after those under our protection. Just to say what I notice about the situation.

When discussing the vote for this option we specified a cash range for a reason. We don't want to be making off the cuff desperation deals. This is very short notice and involves making commitments that we don't necessarily know the full impact of. Not a good buy even if there are lots of shinies around for the taking.

Get in, get what we need, get gone.

This is crazy. Odin isn't trustworthy just because he's nice to Harry a few times in canon.

Fighting for them, giving samples of our work, and walking them through the function of our authority and exaltation is way too much. It's giving Odin more and more data points to work with that we don't necessarily want him to have and we're not even really getting a long term benefit for it.

They are performing an active search, with leads already, of other exaltations. The opening of Black Vault draws near. We have to prepare. Because I would much rather deal with Twilight Solar Dresden, than with Abyssal Nicodemius or Eclipse Marcone.

So, it seems that the idea to include meeting Odin in our Action Plan had merit after all and for these exact reasons! Who could have known?!

That would obliterate all the canon stuff and turn every fight into "figure out where the exalt is". It'd also bring all the issues of cross exaltation balance squarely into focus, which isn't ideal.

It's more likely he simply sees what Bob sees, that Molly is a Queen without a court, and has made the educated guess that she will take or build one herself at some point.

He remembers an age when the gods still did that sometimes, so it's not too strange an idea.

I don't think Odin has too much information already, if he did he probably wouldn't want to release any Exaltations. They are not controllable or manageable in any way.

Just a reminder, a real awakened Mages won't exalt.
And Nick propably neither, since he couldn't be Anduriel's host at the same time.

Could you at least include making weapons for the Einherjar? That extra point could get us a squad of trained and equipped soliders. Pretty good deal for the price, IMO.

Molly exalted. And she had a full wizard's gift and was practicing already. Nick might not, but, on the balance, Michael is very likely to.
Wehad that discussion already I think?

People with full powersets usually don't Exalt and if they do they loose what they were before.
It's the same with every example in the crossover book.

Not really interested. We were willing to enter this assault without them earlier, and we can trade weapons crafting to Monoc when we properly meet Odin later if we want to.

I'll post an in between plan for anyone who wants it to copy, but I won't vote for it unless it's a choice between it and something more extreme.

The point is, both Emma-O, and now Odin consider it's possible to locate and make use of more exaltation shards. I suspect that if there are no active excavations in the area of the Scar deep in the NeverNever right now, there will be soon. A new age is coming.

@DragonParadox several questions:
1) Can we take forge payment options multiple times?
2) What does "wisdom regarding the flame that burns upon your blade" means? What are we expected to tell? Our Crown can't see ourselves and presumable Usum as part of ourselves.

Also, very tempted about "where to get more exaltations". Because forces are in motion searching for those. I'd rather good guys find them first. Can we negotiate further? Like, for weapons, can we extract an oath that those weapons wouldn't be used against us offensively (i.e. until we attack first?). Regarding the exaltation whereabouts - can we ask to join the expedition for those? Finally, do we need to spend every favor point here?

  1. No, just the once
  2. He wants you to write down as much as you know about the nuclear green hatefire and how it works (this being Lanka lore Molly knows quite a lot about it). Given what it is that is probably for the purpose of weaponizing it.
  3. A non-aggression pact would have to be negotiated on its own and not in a hurried phone conversation just before battle, you can tweak things a bit, like joining all battles together with Lydia, but nothing too complex.
  4. If there is an expedition to seek out an exaltation you could join yes, depending on what you find it might be required

They've probably been doing that since they found the first one, at least among the Yama Kings. Usum was in service for ages without seeing a peer on any battlefield, so I doubt it's that simple.

2. Is that lore included in Big Book of Yomi Wan? Actually... How much would the Big Book of Yomi Wan be worth?
4. Could you elaborate on that last part? Is that a part of agreement we would be making?
