Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Offer to buy him a car as soon as he gets his license, you have the money and you can make more
-[X] Empathy excellency to prevent him from feeling insecure or resentful
-[X] It won't be something luxury, but your parents got you Beige Wagon, so it's only fair that now that you have the means, you even the field and get him something equivalent

the teacup ninja charm.

We are a sidereal now!

It would, but it would also mean you are either giving him a luxury car or giving him the only inconspicuous car you have.

Running at car like speed means nobody sees your luxury car, right? We can totally do that when we need to be inconspicuous. :V

She breaks it with Shintai, IIRC.

We should make jet noises if that happens, just for fun.

[X] In the time honored tradition of younger siblings getting the hand me downs of their elders, once Daniel gets his driver's license you will give him the Beige Wagon, with the understanding that he will care for it properly and eventually pass it down to a younger sibling himself once he has the means to acquire his own vehicle.

Just give him the beige wagon, this is literally a nothing burger. We can borrow it from him it we ever need it.

Any idea what the damage dealt is for body checking someone at that speed?
Long story short, it is somewhere approximately 75 points of bashing damage.

The set of rules for ramming and collisions is... a lot of text that boils down roughly to 1 bashing damage per 10MPH or "10 feet of velocity" + if vehicle, vehicle's durability on top of that.

Under some circumstances, arguably you also might be capable of Stacking Laughing Shrapnel Arrival on top of that, but I am not going to think about it too hard, for now. Simmering Sinner Resentment also turns bashing damage into aggravated, if needs must.

That's not top theoretical speed Molly could achieve, btw. We can go faster.

I'm not a huge fan of SSR, but being able to introduce ourselves to Nicodemus with 75 Aggravated damage would be fun. He probably has some way of dealing with that sort of thing, but I bet it would leave an impression. Or we could explode his daughter just to assert superiority now that Molly is in the family business.

Any way that we can convert that damage to lethal on a more general level so that we can use TA to do the same without SSR? Maybe diving into people sword first, or carrying a spiky shield?

Keep in mind that we are normally subject to Newton's laws.
Any damage we deal from crashing into things, we also take.

Laughing Shrapnel Arrival ignores that of course, but that also deals a fixed amount of damage.

Yeah, but presumably we don't deal Agg to ourselves with that charm. It's a lot of bashing, but with the right prep we could probably pull something off. If nothing else we could clothesline them with a 50 lbs iron pole or something as we fly by.

Sufficient amount of Bashing overflows into lethal, so, just. More damage. More damage is good.

Not according to the ramming rules, idk. Although DP might apply the rule zero, there. I also think that we prolly could talk with DP about Sharpnel arrival, because "Ignore previous speed/mass, take this fixed amount of meager damage in a small aoe" is legitimately pathetic. It is worthless for fall damage negation, too; terminal velocity is like, 10 lethal?

This is a dragonblooded-tier charm, even with the whole "Infernals charms can be a bit weak for Solaroids" thing this is terrible.

Ramming speed tactics in general
Honestly, this is not the most damage Molly could reasonably do, but it is probably the most aesthetic one. Dynamic entry is a classic. I hope I'll live to see the day when we slam into Ethniu or Red King at multi-mach speeds like a burning comet.

Apropos of nothing, Solars have ramming charms that work on super-sonic jets.

Tangentially related, but now I'm sort of curious about what would happen if we killed a greater Akuma using a charm like SSR. Specifically the bit absurd damning them to a different hell than the one they're in. They're basically liches right? Their souls are in a vault somewhere piloting their bodies.

So if would the exaltation rip them out of one hell and stuff them into the other? Would we have to roll against Emma-O or whoever during the extraction if it did?

We're going to need to buy or craft ourselves some flight goggles, otherwise it's not going to be any fun at all getting bugs in our eyes when we fly at high speed.

Actually, a full face mask or helmet would probably be helpful, too. Bug splatters are hell on the complexion and getting squished insects tangled in our hair will just be a mess.

I'm totally in favor of boosting LSA with some damage from speed or lenght of the fall.

But I also think outside of solariod charms meant to allow you to ignore impact, you should be affected by Newton's Laws.
Obviously the damage taken on impacting someone would realistically be influenced by various factors, like the mass of the thing you hit, but generally speaking you will damage a car if you hit a deer at high speed and you will damage yourself if you crash into a person at high speed.

The question is if that works for the charm. If overflow lethal counts the same as direct then we're golden, but if we have to be generating it directly to apply then we might need to screw around a bit to get it to work.

Helmet. If we use a mask Molly's siblings will never let her live down wearing it and her armor at the same time.

Daniel: "You can't be a magical girl and a classic superhero at the same time. You've got to pick a genre and stay with it!"

Actually, I've been thinking for a while on making a "dress armor," for when we want to be visibly wearing armor instead of a chain shirt under our clothes. If I understand the armor rules right, removing the "concealable" bonus should let us get up to 2 soak dice without Dexterity penalties, and if we stack enough successes we should be able to make something appropriately visually impressive. Even to the point of noticeable social bonuses for wearing it. I think we're almost to the point of stacking enough hax to hit 15 successes aka "showing off by Celestial Exalted standards" semi-reliably, so that should be plenty good enough to be worth spending a couple hours banging out.

I wonder if we could commission one of Harry's kinetic absorption/blast rings? We could charge it very quickly when we want to, and it might be a way for us to deliver a significant amount of damage via ramming at high speed while negating much of the impact upon ourselves.
