Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Well, let's talk outfit. We should obviously make it ourselves, using our abilities to their full potential because why not. I am thinking an emerald green dress, something sleek but flowy that we can move in. Classic in that timeless sense that understated elegance never goes out of style.

Dressing up as Sailor Nuclear Hell Princess probably wouldn't be appropriate for the occasion, I guess?

Unless something goes wrong, then that's just us being well prepared.

So, probably silk (shame we don't have demonic spiders on call to make it), made with BSM, CCC, WHWH. Maybe also some jewelry (also self-made)?

Or we could go the opposite direction, and style it as a sort of military uniform, to go with our sword.

Cause I was thinking of all of them as variants of yes, but stopping to examine that for a second it it does deviate more from the base approach.

Uju's vote clearly wasn't a *yes tell her*, it was a *don't tell her and go threaten Harry for no reason about him telling her*.

It was a significant change to simply telling on the spot, so of course the 18 votes to do so won against the 12 not to.

I mean, synthetic emeralds have been a thing for a few decades at the point in time of this fic. We could do a green and brass thing, with green silk paired with jewelry made from brass and emerald. I am thinking the best pairing with a sleek dress would be a flowing smooth design focused on highlighting the stones themselves. Earrings, a bracelet on our left hand alongside a couple of rings. Our right arm and hand should be bare, as it is our sword arm and the whole look should be designed to come together with sword in hand, and we shouldn't have anything on our head or brow.

After all, we already wear a crown. Anything else on our head would be silly.

Maybe something period specific to the era where most of the ghosts originate? But constructed so that it can be torn away in a dramatic flourish to reveal our real dancing costume, complete with armor, for when we need to shank a bitch with Usum.

This is a cemetery in Chicago. You could have French fur trappers knocking knees with people who died a week ago. Trying to match everyone's sensibilities is going to be a lost cause. The solution is to simply implement whatever we DO make so well that nobody can complain.

[X] There are lots of people from lots of history in attendance. This calls for classics. The foundation of the outfit is a classic sleek but flowy and not restrictive sleeveless silk dress dyed a bright emerald green. It is classic in that understated elegance way that never goes out of style. But a dress alone does not an outfit make. Alongside the dress comes jewelry, specifically cascade of small brass and emerald teardrop earrings that dangle from the multiple ear piercings that Molly refuses to hide. Additionally her left arm is adorned by a brass and emerald bracelet. Three bands of brass twist around her wrist with six large perfectly clear dark green emeralds appear almost black save for when they catch the light and flash brilliantly green. Her left hand also bares two thick rings, one on pinky and one on index, with emeralds of similar quality. Her right hand and arm are bare. Without really thinking about it the outfit is designed with deliberate asymmetry so that while it looks gorgeous all the time, it is most complete and balanced when Molly has sword in hand, the lines of the brass and the flashing green emeralds a mundane counterpart to her eldritch blade. Also accompanying the dress is a green silk clutch with brass hardware attached to a thin green silk shoulder strap, because for however much elegance Molly has come to appreciate she is still a practical girl and practical girls carry clutches.

[X] Go for the whole dark, magnificent lady look, but add something very cutsy and obvious as well. You're thinking a dark slinky dress, kick ass boots, and perhaps a nice flower decoration in your hair. Have some fun with it if you can, and over the top is a must!

What is the difference between the two anyway?
I haven't actually read so take with salt but for other games with a similar division alertness is spotting ambushes, waking up from sleep and generally quickly reacting to unknown unknowns.

Awareness is listening to everyone in a crowd and..

Actually ignore me. Why am I talking about this when I don't actually know anything the uses? The uses am think of for awareness could go under investigation.

It's tomorrow night.
Ok...

We should also not outshine the hostess.

[X] Plan united front
-[X] Call Lydia, offer to make her a dress and maybe some jewelry for the dance
--[X] If she already has a dress, ask her to send a photo, so you'll be coordinated. She's the hostess of the event, you don't want to outshine her
--[X] If she agrees, call her over, and do an all-nighter, going all out with your charms (excellencies, BSM, WHWH, CCC, ATB for quality control, etc). Have Lydia participate in crafting adding her own excellencies
--[X] If Lydia doesn't have a dress selected, then go with the following: The foundation of the outfit is a classic sleek but flowy and not restrictive sleeveless silk dress dyed a bright emerald green. It is classic in that understated elegance way that never goes out of style. But a dress alone does not an outfit make. Alongside the dress comes jewelry, specifically cascade of small brass and emerald teardrop earrings that dangle from the multiple ear piercings that Molly refuses to hide. -[X] STUNT: "Lydia, hi! So, I wanted to ask - do you have an outfit prepared? I thought that we should go with something coordinated, to show my support to you as the hostess, and so we would look better together. I planned to make my own outfit and jewelry using my magic, and I would be happy to also do the same for you. Do you have time to come over and help me with crafting, or are you busy preparing the dance? I promise Daniel won't get to see you in your dress before the dance" you say, even as the arcane machinery around you lowers the temperature in the room and condenses blocks of ice to trigger your powers.

Fighting Evil By Moonlight calls for a stylish sailor suit. In our case a goth, raver sailor suit. How many other chances will we have to lean in on being the most magical girl in the city?

The question I don't have an answer for is "who to call to the dance". I mean, outside of Mouse we really don't have anyone else.

I wish we could get Harry to be our date, but that seems like a very hard sell even if he had time.
