And of course, if you present all heroes as the best of the best, the "pinnacle of humanity", then the implicit message is that anyone who isn't that can't be a hero. And there are always going to be plenty of people who feel that they could never live up to the image the heroes present. So by letting everyone see that heroes aren't all perfect shining beacons of light and justice, more capes are going to feel that they could be heroes too. This is a case where their PR department overdid things, I think. The heroes need to still be human.
