Confringentur 2; a Madoka Magica / Fate/Stay Night sequel

You expect me to know what day it is?
Bro often time I don't even know what MONTH it is.

This is *not* a good plan, and I'd love for somebody else to create a better one.
Man, what a tough crowd. Usually after 12 hours you guys have something to give me. Where'd everybody go?
While I'd love to create a plan, I am very specialized when it comes to small-talk. As in, 'trying to discuss philosophy with my family that doesn't give a crap' and 'spewing hot trivia' kind of specialized. If the last vote showed anything, it's that I am very bad in these situations.

I've been trying to think of something to say to Sayaka and Kyoko for a while now and I've drawn a blank, anyone else have any ideas?

Well, it's been twenty hours and we've only got a single vote on board. If either of you want to spit some ideas, even bad ideas, they would be much appreciated. I know there are other people out there following along who might also have ideas; you are also encouraged to contribute even if all you have are bad ideas.

[] What if we all swapped magical girl outfits?

I've got literally nothing else, but I found this and thought maybe it would be a fun topic. Now; I literally have nothing else to contribute. I've already spent all of my available inspiration today on doing math and writing for my 2 pre-existing quest ideas and my 4 new quest ideas that came out of honestly nowhere.

[] What if we all swapped magical girl outfits?
I'll take it.

---[X] About actions with Minako - suggest puzzles or maybe riddles and scavenger hunts?

---[X] Without going into too much detail: How do we influence a group that's working against us, but perhaps for the wrong reasons?
-[X] After Breakfast: Talk
-[X] to Madoka
--[X] You love her, and thank her for her help with Amy
-[X] to Hitomi
--[X] Her new rune
-[X] to Sayaka and Kyoko
--[X] What if we all swapped magical girl outfits?

If you have other ideas please contribute. I got rid of the asking about the last two days thing because they aren't necessary.

Would either of you be willing to come up with an alternative talking point to this? I know from a meta perspective you want to know what we've been up to the past two days, but from a narrative one I don't think you realise how awkward it is to have us, literally, asking "What did we do yesterday and the day before?"

Frankly, I'd like to submit the reminder to both of you that the reason I switched us over to Kazumi on Tuesday, and stayed with her on Wednesday, is because we didn't have anything planned for Homura, so unless I drop indication otherwise you shouldn't be expecting for us to have done anything particularly noteworthy.

Eh, give me a moment. How about:
* talk about how quiet it was here the past two days? The state of the castle? And that you really loved having Madoka over in a relative moment of calm?

Would that work, boss?

Spent most of yesterday getting a diagnosis for pneumonia and picking up prescription drugs to deal with said pneumonia. I'm afraid that between that and finding out what smog does to someone who doublemasks I'm not going to be of use today. Sorry.

Only thing I could point to is to have Homura reminisce about her date with Madoka because it seems like she would still be feeling the event out in her own mind just because it seems to have caused an emotional high.

Day 9 Chapter 3
[X] Basic communication 2

"Itadakimasu!"

It's rare that the kitchen table has a fourth occupant; usually that only happens on the weekend when Kirika comes home. But today, it isn't Kirika sitting in the fourth chair, but Madoka. You'll see your Big Sis sitting at the kitchen table again come Saturday evening, but seeing Madoka over for breakfast is a rare treat, one which you are all too willing to enjoy. "So, I hope you two didn't do anything last night that your father and I wouldn't approve of."

Unfortunately, you aren't the only one willing to enjoy Madoka's presence.

You sputter at Minako's insinuation, almost choking on breakfast. "Mom!" Madoka's face is bright red; you imagine that you've become the red cabbage as well. "Come on, don't say that! Who do you think I am, Kirika?"

"No, but I do think you're the same age Kirika was when I had to have that conversation with her." Minako clicks her tongue, not at you, but in the direction of her biological daughter, who right now isn't here to hear her mother's chastising. She smiles for you, saying "I know you're taking that stuff slower than Kirika did, sweetie, and I'm glad you and Madoka are so well-behaved." Minako pouts, adding "But that just makes it really hard to tease you about it. I've got to take my chances when they appear."

You roll your eyes, and earn yourself a pouty face from Minako as you ask Archer "Can you try to keep mom under control?"

"If I knew how, I promise you I would."

"Maybe there's something you two could do together that would give you more opportunities to try?"

"Like what?"

"Well, while you were doing the laundry, mom and I were talking about some things you two might be able to do together that wouldn't... Keep me up at night. I didn't have many suggestions, but maybe it's something you and mom could talk about when you have the time?"

"Oh?" Archer looks up from you, turning his attention towards Minako even as he asks you "What sort of suggestions did you have for us?"

You're sure Archer's question was one meant for Minako to respond to, so you'll stay quiet and let her answer. "Homura suggested stuff like a puzzle, or us working on art together; things that we could pick up and put down at our leisure without having to commit a huge chunk of time to."

"Huh." Archer chews on Minako's words, much the way in which he chews on a bite of breakfast. "Well, it's certainly something we could try out," he says. "I do recall saying we needed to try new things."

Minako smirks, responding with "As I recall, you weren't saying that about us finding a new hobby."

Seeing those words inspire such redness in Madoka's face, you cough into your hand. "Perhaps that's something you two should discuss in private, then. There are children present."

"I'm sorry about my parents." Madoka's face was pretty red at several points during breakfast, but where her embarrassment has faded, yours has not. "Still, I'm glad you were able to spend the night, and I hope you enjoyed yourself in spite of everything."

Madoka smiles, responding to your gladness with a kiss. "I'm just glad you finally had some time to spend with me, Homura-chan," she says. "You and the others have been so busy lately, that finding time to spend with you hasn't been easy." Madoka looks off in the direction of the school, adding "Everything's going okay with you and the others, right?"

"We've been trying to get some work done on our side since Sunday night," you say. "But fortunately, we haven't been in conflict with those other girls since then." Unfortunately, you don't imagine things staying this way forever. The enemy must be planning something. But what? You decide to change the subject, saying "Thank you for your help with Amy earlier. I know she's been wanting to play with you again for some time now."

"Any time! Just say the word, Homura-chan; I'm always happy to come over and see Amy."

"Why Madoka, it sounds like you enjoyed seeing Amy more than you did me..." You grin, slipping behind Madoka and tickling her down the length of her ribs. "If that's how little you think of me, then I guess I'll have to punish you!"

"Weihihihi~! Stop it, Homura-chan!" Under her laughter, Madoka can barely manage to squeak her pleas out. Dutifully, you stop, and Madoka says "You know I love you."

"Hey Hitomi, remember that face you made when you saw me and Madoka playing around like that?" Your reverie with Madoka is interrupted, as it always is, by the arrival of Sayaka and Hitomi; though this time, Kyouko is with them. You guess she must have spent the night with Sayaka. Sayaka nudges Hitomi, adding with a mischievous grin "Progress."

"Yes, well, I've come a long way since then," she says; and she has. "You and Madoka-san both being romantically involved with other girls has been a real eye-opener for me, as have Kure-san and Mikuni-san..." Hitomi stares off into the distance, looking like the shell-shocked soldier from that famous photograph. Oriko and Kirka were perhaps too much of an eye-opener for her. Hitomi coughs into her hand, saying "Well, my point is, I've progressed past the point where I'm going to judge any of my friends for the sort of relationships they have."

You nod; you can remember Hitomi confiding in you her struggles to accept her friends' partners due to her parents' influence. "Speaking of progress, did you ever decide if you were going to start learning a rune or not?"

Hitomi nods her head. "Yes, I did. After looking over the primer Mikuni-san had Lancer type up for me, I've decided to start working on Dagaz. There were a few others I saw that looked promising, but Dagaz has applications with transmutation magecraft, which is something I'm already working on with my Mystic Codes; and I thought it might help us better understand the abilities of Kanna Niko and how we might better counter her own transmutation abilities."

Just then, Sayaka snickers to herself, prompting stares from everyone else. "You wanna tell us what's so funny, Blueberry?" Kyouko asks. "Come on, share yer little joke with the rest'a the class, why don't ya?"

"Well, I was just thinking-" Sayaka's words are undercut by her laughter. "-What if you, Homura, and the others, all decided to switch your magical girl costumes one day? I bet that'd be pretty funny to see."

You don't really have a response for Sayaka, outside of an uninterested questioning look. Kyouko, on the other hand, takes much more interest in Sayaka's proposal. "All right, see, now yer talking stupid," she says. "First, we gotta figure out if we're just we're just trading styles, or if we're full-on swapping costumes; 'cause if we're swapping costumes, we're gunna run inta some logistical problems." You don't mean to be rude, but you never would have guessed that Kyouko would use a word like 'logistical'. "First, there's the matter of us all being different sizes, and I ain't just talking about our heights." Kyouko makes a gesture with her hands, cupping a pair of invisible breasts that don't exist. "I mean, ain't nobody gunna fit in anything Big White wears, much as Crazy probably wishes she could." Kyouko turns to you, asking a question you've never wanted to consider in "What is she, anyway; ninety-six centimeters? Izzat something Crazy's ever told ya?"

You shake your head. "I wouldn't know." Nor is it particularly your business to know. "Though I do see your point. Without a tailor-" Or perhaps someone versed in Alteration magecraft, "-it wouldn't be feasible for us to swap outfits. Oriko is too tall, and Kirika is too short. Tomoe-san is around our size, but her bust means we'd have to take in the chest of her outfit if either of us wanted to wear it. You and I might be able to swap our outfits as they are-" And if you wore Kyouko's red, you and Archer would match, too. "-but aside from us, the others would have to have have their new outfit tailored to varying degrees; or in Oriko's case, possibly made entirely from scratch."

"Still, it would be interesting to see," Hitomi chimes in. "I don't know if any of you would look better wearing the outfit of another, but it would certainly be interesting."

Sayaka rolls her eyes." Geez, you guys," she moans. "Why'd you have to go and take it so seriously? It was a joke! You weren't supposed to dissect it like the frogs from last year's biology lab!"

"Underestimate puella magi at your own peril, Miki Sayaka." Beside you, Kyouko nods her head. You hope Sayaka continues to take your sage words of wisdom to heart. They've kept her alive so far.

I was completely incapable of fitting

---[X] Without going into too much detail: How do we influence a group that's working against us, but perhaps for the wrong reasons?
this point into the flow of the breakfast conversation. I hope I was able to fit the other points in, with varying degrees of success, but this one just was not possible for me to find the words to bring up. I can try to bring it up again at a later point, or perhaps if I step away from this and come back later I'll be able to see a place I can edit it into, but as things are now I just don't know how I'd fit it into the update and have it flow nicely with everything else.

[x] Ask Sayaka what she's been up to lately.
-[x] You know, besides making out with Kyoko.
Oh, right, since you're bringing this up,I should probably mention what our options are going forward since I just left us with a [ ] Wat do? at the end of the update. We can:
- Talk to Caren and Assassin if we think we have anything to say to them; we do see them every day, mind you;
- Skip to lunch and talk to our friends, especially if there's something we want to say to them, but even if we just want to banter back and forth;
- Alternatively to either of these options, we can invite Hitomi, Kyouko, and Caren up to the roof for lunch, and have a private pow-wow with them and their servants;
- Alternatively alternatively, we can do that for just Hitomi and Saber if we want to put more of the spotlight on Saber;
- We can jump into Archer's shoes for a bit and see what he's up to; maybe he's the one having a pow-wow with the other servants, who knows;
- Or, as a dangerous last resort over any of these options, we can just skip through the entire school day and get right to establishing ourselves in our new base. Personally, I'd prefer we not skip over an entire day's worth of content, but maybe you all feel differently if you're jonesing to get to the meat of today.

--[x] Ask Hitomi how she's handling her Servant. He hasn't caused any trouble for her has he?
--[x] Ask Saber what he thinks of Hitomi as his Master.

[X] NMS

Since I'm in a bit of a creative final stretch myself for a personal project, I'll leave this to the person with time to think on a plan.

In other words, and I don't mean to sound like a dick when I say this, it's just going to be left as-is unless we somehow manage to summon @Enetious back from the depths of his shitty internet connection.
Hey look man, I don't have either mental energy, necessary mindset, or inspiration to vote. I would if I could, or if I had any ideas, but unless necessary to keep the quest going I'm kind of dead in the water here. Hopefully once either:

A. We get to my specialty (battle tactics) or
B. My life gets calmer

I should be able to interact more.

I'm not bemoaning a lack of your participation, specifically. If you've got shit going on in your life - and I assume you've been busy because you haven't bothered to come to me for help or ideas which tells me good things about how you're progressing - then I totally get that. I'm bemoaning a general lack of participation; you know, the same issue I've been battling since before Enetious showed up. It's hard to keep something like this afloat when I've got only 8 participants at the max, many of whom don't even show up all the time, and where even fewer than that can be counted on to be regular contributors.

I appreciate the efforts of everyone who comes up with votes - @Swedish15, @NMS, @SaintBenot, you guys rock, especially when you come up with stuff before I even ask for votes - but it's hard to stay positive when more often than not I'm relying on the backs of just a few people and almost constantly having to beg for contributions when my biggest player isn't around. I mean, I'm writing this for your enjoyments as much as I am my own, so is it really too much to ask that you all contribute a bit more without me having to beg beforehand?

[x] Plan Socializing

sounds good. Might I also suggest that we google a way to pay Mom back for teasing Madoka? I don't know, like a gag gift? Normally, I'd suggest a clone-a-willy, but knowing our parents, that just might make them *more* insufferable.
@SVS - yeah, sorry, my participation is spotty. (On a related note, anybody have any experiences with openslides for electronic voting?)

We're fifteen and we don't have a credit card. How and where would we buy something like that? What stores would even sell to us? Do we even know that something like that exists? On top of that, do recall that Minako was single for seven years before she met Archer; chances are good she has one lying around somewhere already.

Slap an Isaz in a hidden place in the bedroom to make it really cold? Can we even do that? Runes can hold a charge, right?

I don't know how strong a charge could be held or how long a charge could be held for, but taking a shot in the dark... If we invoke the rune somewhere in the bedroom it should linger at least until the room's ambient temperature equalises around the rune. Then again, cooling the bedroom might cause mom and dad to huddle close together for warmth, not to mention you actually want a cooler bedroom for a more comfortable sleep. So, we kind of break even with that one.
