They are this quest's hill people. Except there isn't "they", there is Urth and all Path of civilization-quest veterans know how this plays out - and this time, we have less actions and don't have the massive economy necessary to drown them in troops.

I strongly disagree with this characterization. The Hill Kingdom were an enemy that we never got to properly defeat because there was always something else going on.

Urth is much more powerfull than us. He's not a nuissance that exists on our sufferance, rather it's the other way around. We exist on his sufferance.

Yes every civ will be able to have champions like Urth while ours will not. Goddesses are really useless.
As far as we know there is only urth no other civ has one, and why do the goddesses have to solve all our problems why cant we do it ourselves instead of constantly relying on them to do everything.

He isn't a civ that we can destroy , even if Caradysh are defeated he can still work to become a god in shadows and come back, his daughters can help him as well.they don't need to worry about infrastructure , economy and wellbeing of the citizens like us while overflowing us with actions.

And there was that Lowland undead as well.

Osha did say there was a way to destroy him a while ago didnt he we just have to figure out how since clearly bashing his skull in didnt work.

I mean. It's pretty simple. Destroy the forest and every undead/daughter. Issue with that of course is all he has to do is just keep breeding his immortal daughters. Like, it doesn't take very long to get to absurd numbers and spread out. So its physically possible, but simply not feasible.

But the problem is that we have to worry about other problems beside him, ignore let's say overpopulation and we are in crisis. While he can simply go and plot, or one of his daughters can do that.

Urth won't agree to be put under the truth magic of her enemies. How can she trust them not to false claim that she is lying when she is actually telling the truth?

As for doing it remotely, it isn't accurate or reliable. So while the Arthwyd and the Arthrynite Maradysh are 99% certain it was Urth for various reasons, they can't reliably prove it to other civs.

I missed this bit. I thought our truth magic didn't need the presence of the perpetrator to work. Pretty sure it took the form of divine revelations and stuff like that.

Issue there is the other side won't accept the determination of our gods. Doesn't really help.

Problem is that our gods won't even do their best to help us, but they sure as heck can intervene to give us monarchy or punish people.

I say that we simply stop venerating them and focus on research of magic. That way we can build our defenses as we wish. As for them, well since it seems that narratively they don't wish to work our job for us they shouldn't have reason to throw a fit about us trying not to rely on them.

To defeat enemy like Urth our civ needs to have powerful people on earth, not the havens.

Indeed, the Gods have been nothing but a detriment so far. I told you, didn't I? We can't trust them, only ourselves! Murder The Gods And Topple Their Thrones!

Even Goddesses are limited... And with what actions do you think we can sacrifice to invent more magic?

Shrines, temples , venerating. Hopefully we invent arcane magic and in the end it would be worth it with our soldiers having arcane skill to fight Urth.
He has lifetime of knowledge, we will amass civ worth of knowledge.
