I think this is less denial of reality and more problems with figures of speech. As each Friend is precious, calling them 'errors' when they fail to do the thing you were trying to do with them devalues them and reduces them to that failure when at the end of the day, you still gained a Friend.

I won't comment on that specific incident, but I will say that QA's POVs often omit a great many emotional and social details. She is a very unreliable narrator.

I kinda wanted the misunderstanding to continue for a long, long while. Mostly because I wanted to see QA grumbling secretly to herself about how and why is she suddenly stuck pretending to be QS. That's just me and my plot bunnies though.

Wrong shard; you're probably thinking of Queen Objective. Among shards, Queen Shaper is the closest thing QA has to a friend.

I thought she actually really liked Queen Shaper, she referred to her as a friend this chapter and I remember her saying Queen Shaper is her greatest ally amongst the nobility.

QA did say she tricked her sometimes, but I got the feeling that it is a more friendly version than of the other shards, more like a family or close friend doing a prank.

Just one that still pulls pranks on occasion. You know, I'm eagerly awaiting the conversation where the UN learns that 'actual' Taylor doesn't have a problem with her body becoming a militarized human body replacement. What she does have a problem is the fact that Symbie isn't letting her go all in and make it a human-shaped weapons platform with unrestricted capabilities.

Wait is Taylors The Nameless Girl's new body gonna have the capabilities of a Valk-frame? Like the ability to store and integrate weapons and technology and get an impeller and such? Laser-eyes, deployable armour, that tentacle thing QA did, 100% light absorbing skin, laser-eyes, hidden blades, prehensile hair(I don't know if Valk's can do this), laser-eyes, creating new/extra/redundant (sensory) organs, missiles, laser-eyes, etc, etc...
Think of the possibilities!

Well Symbie did get all that data from the other Valk cores... and doesn't trust any new Friend with Taylor...

So maybe Symbie made a clone of herself? Because so far Taylor has show herself as a bigger threat to humanity than QA.

I imagine her being a terror drone, and it is funny because picturing her than using a regular armoured Valkyrie suit is like picturing a body builder hitting someone with a rubber sword.

Why, she didn't do anything but popping Hellhand into existence, outside of this she didn't do much of anything.
 
To be honest I'm surprised that Symbie is giving Taylor as much slack as she is, given how debatably 'human' her new body could be argued to be or not be. Kinda wish Symbie had...'punished' Taylor!mom for her continued self-destructiveness by sticking her in a more baseline body akin to what QA is/was in.

Punished might not be the word I actually want there, but I'm having a dead brain moment so it's what's gonna be there for the moment.

You see, this is part of why I like QA. Direct, efficient, and blasting people with petabyte size files on a whim. Though I'm not sure if the resident humans/Big Sister got an actual name out of that or not. Anna would probably translate it fastest, if it's jumbled. It seems to conflict with Rose, but maybe it can be justified as a nickname?

I'm expecting some soft drilling on how she got into the Friend business, along the way. And if all the interest wasn't already on her, I'd expect more. The UN could possibly use info specialists even more than typical Valks. Honestly I'm expecting QA to just get fed up at some point and have a direct chat with her monitoring team(s).

I enjoy that Taylor really went the extra mile to have an authentic alibi. The UN might even be able to gather some sort of new tech applications once they get a good look over her body. I'm curious if this qualifies her to the Valk academy, or perhaps just being shipped off to a research/recovery facility. They aren't shy about getting literally every warm body with a Core into the war, but.. does Taylor have one? Or will she be seen as a really exotic soldier without a Core?
 
I'm surprised no one has commented on how they have to reevaluate QA's earlier statement about her mental health not being productive to improve because then she'd be more similar to others and less likely to produce novel information. The instructor originally countered that by there being no one similar to her in the first place, and QA tentatively accepted that as the current state of things. Now they've discovered another girl that started as either an identical twin or a clone of her. So QA's statement has to be reanalyzed in that light.

They likely have to wonder how many clones of QA were produced, probably broken in divergent ways, and died. Especially as given QA's earlier statement, she would have been aware of them.

That, and QA and Taylor are likely gonna start with calling both of them Taylor, which just reinforces the idea that they recognize both of themselves as the same entity kinda sorta.

I'm not sure Taylor would want to be called by her name and reminded of her past life. Maybe she will go by UN's Pandora, which seems kind of fitting: she did unleash QA upon this world (and for her own amusement at that).
