Odd, there's some fiction pieces where the hidden magic world is a civilization that can innovate or have civilization problems. Disney's Jake the American Dragon showed some of this with stuff like Cupid's arrows, and oracles getting kidnapped to fix bets.
But I expected at least the shrine maidens in Japan to get a roll as that's a cultural thing of some significance in urban fantasy manga that deal with the supernatural. I mean, Bleach's setting should exist, Making those onmyoji? relevant to the public consciousness, a little.

Well Harry Potter is rather... well normal in terms of British politics. We have noble twats, the middle class getting fucked over, hooligans... the poor. and Voldy hasn't come around and fucked things up.

And besides American Dragon isn't till the 2000's.

Wince, Jake's story isn't until the 2000s, but the greater society the setting is part of should exist at this time.
Though how you handle the many different types of dragon from so many different settings... how do you intend to handle it? Some are dumb animals (harry potter), some shapeshift (American dragon), and some are stone things brought to life that talk (Disney's mulan)

Well, looks like things are probably gonna get INTERESTING in the USA cyberspace. With the US 'official efforts' being hidden away by the power players trying to exploit the situation, leaving the front-facing matters to the corps while we may see the rise of some interesting internet-facing groups, between the IRL movements like Anon and the fact we are seeing groups forming in the early days of the internet....
...And this is gonna end up interesting interestingly with the Digimon pivot to lessen negative impact of the rumors isn't it. Well, this is gonna make the Geek community be INTERESTINGLY different.

Which, funnily enough became the general name for magical police due to Britain taking cues from the Americans for their police force.

Atlantis the lost empire franchise in Milo's return had Atlantis rise out of the ocean in the 1900s at some point, Stargate has a Atlantis, a dragon destroyed Atlantis in xiaolin showdown, Wu dog sank Atlantis.
The specifics of "what Atlantis?" are a bit wonky and contradictory to lock into ' everything is canon'.
A few animes had a Atlantis.
Artemis Fowl series has a super tech populated Atlantis.

Copyright is literally just concepts. And well, it as a concept likely isn't something that exists in the digital world at this point. For them doing pirating of data, it would probably be more accurate to call it smuggling, given just how easy it is for those with access to the foundation of the digitals to copy stuff after cracking anti-duplication measures. And to be honest, it'll likely be a major background conflict as various digimon-human groups clash with corps over attempts at IP protection.
God knows what the HELL is going on off in africa and aisa. The only reason the USA folks make much sense is that others have delved in and fleshed things out in a way that makes the given WOG plausible.

The big deal with Code Lyoko is that it practically reads like a Digimon series already (kids going into a digital world courtesy of that supercomputer.) Waldo can figure out how to virtualize things.. and bring them out of a digital world.
And we got a hard date from that canon for when things get screwy with that thing. June 6 1994

Yep, but the problem is, Lyoko took years to build and Hopper went insane with the power to timetravel.
I would not say that, as there are safer ways to enter the digital world that does not involve experimental tech.

They all exist, at some point a whole lot of ancient underwater civilizations decided to name their cities Atlantis and refused to change the name when they found out someone else named theirs that as well.
Or Atlantis used to be singular very powerful nation spread among multiple settlements on the oceans, before splintering off into successor city-states for a variety of reasons and kept the name
