Anderson Quest: Killing Vampires and Werewolves and Leprechauns (Hellsing/Bloodborne)

[X] Let Eileen lead
-[X] Prepare one bayonet in each arm, you don't exactly know what made that noise. Gascoigne perhaps?
-[X] Whoever it was, let Eileen do the talking. Being a diplomat is hard, slashing is easier.
-[X] Prepare to protect Eileen. The old woman might be fast, but she can't exactly take a bullet to the brain and live to tale, can she?

Just realized Gascoigne might be christian or catholic. Aparently in the alpha build he said "sick creature... may you rest in peace... Umbasa" when he killed the player.

"Umbasa" is from Demon's Souls. It is a benediction to the God of that setting and has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity.

In any case, that line was also removed from the final build of the game and isn't canon.

Fix your vote, you left out the opening bracket in your first line.

Something to note: The Beast from Demon's Soul, the monstrous entity that is the actual face of the god Umbasa...is also called the Old One.

Great One is a shortened term for Great Old One.

There is...a very disturbing view of Demon's Souls, in light of Bloodborne, especially when you consider that the Beast ending has the Slayer of Demons going forward to embrace the Old One...just like the ending in Bloodborne where you replace GHerman.

Man, oh man. It's kinda freaky, when looked that way. Especially as you kill the Maiden, the one who should have gone forward and lulled the Old One to 'sleep'.

Was all of Demon's Souls...just one massive dream, except formed by the Old ONe in its search for a child, not by the Moon Presence? Food for thought, most definitely.

If nothing else, Demon's Souls definitely has a lot more ties to Bloodborne that it does to Dark Souls.

Can't forget the character who's been in Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Armored Core....

Honestly with the ties that drag all the series together, it might all be just one giant universe. Layers of dreams upon dreams... repeated unto infinity. The same actors playing out different parts, and then there's that one Jackass Patches who can only play a single character in every single thing he's in.

Obviously Artorius, Fume Knight, and Nineball are all the same characters.... not sure who the Bloodborne version would be, Gerhman maybe?

Or- get this.

Patches, the Moonlight Greatsword, etc. are just references. They aren't all the same things in-universe and are just there so us in real life can point and say "I recognize that!"

It's the same thing where people go "DBZ and Marvel are in the same universe!!!111!!!" because Vegeta shows up in a background panel of some comic as an Easter egg, or seeing Samus in an inn in the Mario RPG means that Metroid and Mario are part of the same universe. No, they aren't, it's just a reference so the audience can go "hah, that's cute" and move on. There is no deeper meaning. Stop trying to dig too deep into things that aren't there. And I say this as someone who gets a raging boner over metaphor and symbolism.

Moonlight's in Armored Core.

Demon's Souls/Dark Souls/Armored Core 1, 2, 3, 4, 5/King's Field confirmed for same universe.

Maybe Patches is just something like Schrodinger from Hellsing and exists in all of these universes simultaneously even though they're not the same universe? [/doubleguessedit]

But that's boring.

That said, I wasn't really asking for any DeS stuff coming out of the woodwork.

Just pointing out that Bloodborne lore, or at least some vital parts of it, seems to have been influenced quite heavily from Demon's Souls, considering the disturbing similarity between their endings.
