Anderson Quest: Killing Vampires and Werewolves and Leprechauns (Hellsing/Bloodborne)

But the ones on the verge of turning into beasts have a distinct lack of fear, relatively speaking. They become extremely reckless, aggressive, and relentless. They care more for seeking more blood than any fear they might have left.

Ludwig's Holy Blade gave him a sort of false reassurance, and so he was blind to his going too far and too recklessly in his pursuit of beasts.

That, and he wanted to deny what the Church Hunter's were becoming.

[X] Talk to Simon.
-[X] Ludwig, the Holy Blade.

Also, the fear thing comes from Eileen's dialogue: "Still lingering about? What's wrong? A hunter, unnerved by a few beasts? Heh heh... No matter. Without fear in our hearts, we're little different from the beasts themselves."

"Blessed Michael, Lord of Paladins, I ask that you guard the soul of this lost Knight, who did all he could. May he rest in peace. May he find solace from the Dark, and Freedom from the Nightmares. Let him know a place where he can stand amongst fellow warriors in the defense of a holy cause. Let him know peace from the torments of his existence."

It removed his fear, but fear is what keeps man separate from being beasts themselves.

So what I'm hearing is that Anderson, being a fearless warrior with decades of experience who imbibed none o' that heretical blood, can use the Holy Blade with little repercussion?

Our pals are psyched up, let's not keep them waiting with yet more talking, that's just bad manners.

[x] Go deeper into the city
-[x] Ask about Ludwig, what he's like now and all
-[x] Wonder about the possibility of bringing Simon back with Ebrietas' help.
-[x] Try out the new armwhip thing, see if you could duel wield it with the club for kicks.

... I approve of this message. There's something innately glorious about brass knuckles on the arm of an eldritch abomination.

Now I'm imagining Gangsta Cthulhu. This quest...

--[X] Check armwhip to see if/where brass knuckles could be attached
---[X] If there is a place for them, make mental note to talk to Gherman about getting some

Well, we probably can't help Ludwig as he is. After all, he is a giant centaur monstrosity. But after removing most of his moving parts(everything below his head that is), we can try to get him a little more sane. It doesn't seem like he's going to die because of that. If you tell him the truth about the Church, he survives in the state we put him for quite some time. Maybe we would even be able to stuff him into our sleeve and bring to Ebrietas.

You fool!

No sapient being can witness the extra dimensional space of Anderson's sleeves! They would go raving mad!

Speaking of the Amygdala arm, could we fit something like brass knuckles on it, so it's like an A.C.M.E. brand Extendo-fist?

I'm fairly sure that making all the fingers lock together like a knuckleduster would end up doing would cause problems with the part where it opens up into a laser stick? So mebbe not a good idea.
