An Unusual Abnormality - Redux (A Lobotomy Corporation x ??? Interactive Quest)

Day 1.28
> "Well, if I'm attacked, I'll defend myself."
>"Well that's obvious..." he dryly replies.

>"An energy company? That sounds nice. I made and run a nuclear fusion reactor back home... But there was no real demand for the energy, so it was mostly about keeping Old Hell warm and comfy."
>He blinks.
>"Huh, interesting..."

> Say thank you for the food before dig into it.
>Try the food. Is it good?
>You say thanks before digging in.
>...Well it's nowhere near Orin's cooking but it's okay... A bit more well done than you'd prefer though... Plus it could use more seasoning...

> ESP (Energy Savant Powers) ACTIVATE!!!
>You strike a pose and create a mini-sun in your hand as you feel you skills bursting at the seams. Archer is freaked out by this for some reason.

Day 1.29
//does this version of Utsuho -really- need food, or she could subsist on fear/worship like gods and various misc. supernatural beings?
//Honestly a good question. I would say she would need food since she's a youkai born from an animal, and it isn't specifically stated that she's one of those youkai that need fear/belief to exist otherwise. I do think it might be possible for her to earn faith, though. However, most of that, if any, would probably go to Yatagarasu itself, since her body is effectively a living shrine for the nuclear crow god.
===================
>"Well, that's pretty much all there is to it."
>Share your opinions on the food.
>"We'll see about getting you something more rare..."

>"Honestly, it is a little bit boring here. If you ever need to efficiently dispose of garbage, I can make a reactor that could run on pretty much anything. Keeping it working would be a good way to burn some time."
>"I'll keep that in mind."

>"For that matter, a good spellcard duel could be pretty fun, too."
>He tenses up before putting on a forced smile, "Ah yes... the... allegedly nonlethal combat system mentioned in Alyssa's report... Forgive me for being a bit skeptical, but coming from an ALEPH it seems a bit too good to be true..."

> "So other than the food delivery, what else are you doing in this session?"
>"Nothing much other than waiting for the buzzer."

>"What other Aleph Abnormi-thingies are here beside me?"
>"Well, we have three more right now. Nothing There, The Silent Orchestra, and Melting Love... All three of them are pretty nasty from what I've heard."

>He stares, dumbfounded. "Um... What?"
>At that moment the buzzer signaling the end of the session blares across the room.
>"Oh, look at the time. Sorry to cut this short, but I wouldn't want to be disciplined for hanging in here longer than necessary, goodbye!" he says as he hastily exits the room, leaving you all by yourself with only a partially eaten tray of food to keep you company.

Day 1.30
> " Goodbye, hope to see you around." Yell after him to make sure Archer heard you.
>You yell after him. You're not sure if he heard you, but it's the thought that counts, you suppose.

>lament the lack of a hug.
>You then proceed to pout. You really wanted that hug.

> Finish the food.
> Play with a ball of energy to pass the time.
>Make sure the ball of energy is stable enough that it doesn't explode in your hands or on contact with the room before playing with it.
>Nonetheless, you finish your meal and proceed to play with a bouncing sphere of danmaku. Dodging it whenever it passes close to you.
>It's nothing compared to spellcard combat, but it's still fun regardless.

>Eventually, the ball dissipates harmlessly after its natural lifespan expires. Within moments after this happens, you suddenly hear sounds of screaming from behind the door.

Day 1.31
>see what the cause is
>You would if there wasn't a tightly shut and rather thick-looking door in the way.

>Try and listen to what other sounds are coming from outside the door other than the screaming.
>You press your ear against the door. You hear muffled sounds of a blade cutting into something along with the sound of liquid spraying and a blood-curdling cry of agony.

> Wait and see what is happening.
> "Err.. hello, do you need help or something?" Talk though the door.
> Be prepared for trouble.
>You ask if anybody needs help as you prepare for trouble. Hopefully your voice carries through this door...
>_

Day 1.32
>Pound on the door loudly.
>"Is there an Incident happening now?"
>You loudly pound on the door, some electrical noises can be heard as you beat against it.
>There is no reply.

> Wait until the noise is gone or the door opens.
>You consider waiting. Are you sure you want to do this?
>_

//The wait action might've contradicted what Islanderninja was going for, so giving you a chance to either reconsider or confirm the action before it's actually parsed.

Day 1.33
How physically strong are we? Could we punch down the door or would we have to use NUCLEAR DANMAKU POWERtm
//As a youkai you would be physically stronger than humans, but you're nowhere near oni-levels of strength.
--------------------------------------
It's been awhile, but I remember it sucking up employees like a black hole.

>Wasn't there that one screen with a bunch of button that came out of the wall? If you can find it again, maybe it has a button that can open the door?"
>You look to the spot where that panel was... If only you knew how to make it appear, because it doesn't look like there are any obvious switches that trigger the walls to move and reveal stuff.

> Try to open the door normally with blasting it as last resort with a cry of " Firing in the hole!"
>"Coming through!"
>Break through the door and survey the hallway.
>You attempt to open the door. You know it slides open rather than swivels, so you press your palms against it and attempt to slide up using friction.
>Unfortunately, you just end up sliding your hands up the door, so instead you look for a spot to put your fingers in in an attempt to get better leverage. However, this doesn't yield any results either.
>So you decide to take the easy route and blast your way through. Aiming your third leg at the door, you begin charging a large energy blast. You call out in warning before releasing it.

>There is a large explosion and a more sounds of electricity. When the smoke clears, you find that to your surprise that the door is still standing, along with the entire wall, with only a large scorch mark as evidence of any damage.
>The door slides open with a loud groan seconds later.

>You then step out into the hallway, glancing about. Immediately noticing off to your right a peculiar scene:

>One of the people in the orange suits is lying in a horrific bloody mess on the floor, with dismembered limbs and entrails strewn about. Standing over the corpse is a trio of hunched over people in strange masks, and attached to their arms are a pair of sickles.
>The center one looks up to you, a piece of the unfortunate woman's flesh clutched in it's hand, and blood oozing out of the part of the mask that covers its mouth. It begins to approach you, breathing heavily while sharpening its sickles against each other, an eerie black aura manifesting over both as it does so.
>Looking at its companions, you notice that blood and bits of entrails are hanging out of their masks' mouthpieces as well...

>Parse through your memories and request specific parts that would make up a miniature fusion reactor to tinker with. Perhaps the laws of physics are different here than gensokyo so experiment.

>If they ask why just simply state that at any moment you can leave the room out of boredom so it's best that they give you those parts to keep yourself busy.
>Something tells you that these people might not be the ones to talk to this about...
>_

Day 1.34
//Last parse until morning.

>"Uh, are you going to eat all of that?"
>The only reply is heavy breathing passing through a blood-soaked mouthpiece.

>Remember that duels are supposed to be nonlethal. Looks like, you are going to be the incident solver this time!
>You realize that you can be an incident solver and punish the bad people for once! Would Satori-sama be proud of you for doing it if she found out? You hope she would!

>Pointy things should stay outside of hellravens! Commence the DANMAKU!
>This definitely isn't Gensokyo if these strange youkai just killed the person without instead of just duelling them.
>Defend yourself since they intend to make you their next meal.
>First things first, pointy things mixed with you would be bad, so you should definitely fight back before they get to you...
>...Or would they be the ones fighting back since you took the first shot? Oh well, they started it anyway so it's still their fault, you think.

>Adust the power in the cannon to only vaporise their bodies instead of outright destroying the hallway.
>You consider toning down the power of your third leg, but remember that it would be unnecessary. Spellcard Danmaku doesn't cause that much collateral damage aside from scorch marks. If it did then the surface of Gensokyo would probably look like a cratered wasteland.

>Use Giga Flare, non-lethal on these people. Even if they broke the rules first.
>...Remember that this is no longer Old Hell, so duel rules do not necessary apply. Shrug.
> You not sure how resistant they are compare to a yokai, therefore don't let them get near you and fire large and wide spread to pin them down against the wall or the floor until Alyssa or one of the employees supposed to deal with this arrive.
>As you take aim, your brain grinds to a halt as you try to decide whether or not to pin them with a nonspell and wait for one of the nice people to arrive, or to fully commit to a spellcard instead.
>_

Day 1.35
>"I am the Nuclear Guardian who
fights
for Fusion and for Energy! I am
Sailor Sun
! And now, in the name of the
Sun
, I'll punish you!"
>...You think something was supposed to happen here...?

> Be sure to apologize to the first friendly living person you see about the door.
>You make a mental note to apologize later.

>Fully commit the spellcard
> Try to pin them first, if it doesn't work follow up with the spell cards.
>You consider just pinning them first, but most of your brain decides that a spellcard right off the bat would be the best option here.

>You hold up the card for Giga Flare and declare it. The card flashes and disappears as you feel the familiar feeling of a spellcard trance overtake you.
>As dictated by the card, you take aim down the hallway, gathering up energy as your card's klaxons blare, accompanied by bright yellow rings of CAUTION warnings and trefoils flashing around your third leg as it charges.
>As soon as the charging completes, you release it into a powerful torrent of explosions that absolutely fill the entire corridor in front of you. You think you hear the masked figures shriek as they're caught in the (nonlethal) power of the sun!

>You can't see what's happening to them, but none of them seem to be rushing through the danmaku to get at you.

>You have about 45 seconds before the spellcard times out naturally, though you can willingly cancel it at any time.
>_

Day 1.36
Are her attacks actually nonlethal or are they very lethal. Ans apeaking of, what type would the attack be in the terms lob corp uses?
//The spellcard laws by design are meant to allow everyone in Gensokyo a fair chance to win against each other in a nonlethal manner. So any attack that uses spellcard rules will be unable to kill anybody, incapacitating them at worst but leaving no damage other than a few singe marks and damaged clothes.

//However, should she choose to not use the spellcard laws and use explicitly potentially lethal attacks, then they would definitely cause all the potential damage you would logically associate with highly radioactive blasts of plasma and energy.

//As for damage type it's definitely red. As Okuu's attacks, even nonlethal ones, will physically harm, rather than mentally harm, those it hits. Though, if using the spellcard rules, it wouldn't be lethal no matter how much damage they receive from them.
------------------------------------
>Keep firing until the enemy stops shrieking.
>The shrieking was brief already, but you keep firing regardless.
>The spellcard soon times out, causing all of your projectiles to fizzle out of existence as the pulse signifying the spell breaking surges outward from your position.

>The physical card returns to you, its current charge spent for this "duel". It'll be about thirty minutes before you can use it again, though you could still use its potentially lethal equivalent during that time if necessary...

>The three masked figures are lying on the ground from the attack: Twitching a bit, but still alive.
>You hear a door open behind you, followed by two clicks.
>"Is it her or more Sweepers?" you hear Alyssa's voice ask.
>"It's her..." Archer's voice replies.
>_

Day 1.37
>"Hello again! There were some people butchering someone right in front of my door. I took care of it."
>"...Was kind of boring, for a duel. Didn't get to see any nice laser patterns or anything, they just shrieked in pain and keeled over pretty much immediately."
>You turn to face them. You notice that Alyssa has her bandaged sword raised and ready, while Archer is aiming his two doohickeys at you.

>You speak, and they stare blankly at you...
>...Well at least Archer does, it's kinda hard to tell with Alyssa with the whole blindfold thing...

>"I... see..." Archer speaks after a moment, eyeing the people you incapacitated, "...They're still alive...?"
>Alyssa merely sighs, "Well if they are we'll just have to finish them off..." she turns her head in your direction, "We'll take things from here... I suppose you deserve a thank you for softening them up, at least."

>Be proud of yourself. Utsuho stronk.
>You feel a sense of pride for how strong you are.

>"So.... what are these?"
>gesture at the things
>"Sweepers." Archer replies as he walks by.
>"They're one of the many nuisances we fight often." Alyssa explains, "Though we actually see them the least out of the typical ordeals that invade the facility around this time."

> "Do you guys usually take this long to fix a problem?"
>"Well usually the problem is spread out across the facility..." Archer answers before aiming his devices at one of your downed opponents and pressing something on them with his fingers.
>There is a loud banging noise as they discharge something too fast for you to see in sequence, and in an instant a cloud of what seems to be black and white butterflies appears over the target, seemingly slicing into it like a storm of flechettes.
>It ceases to move within moments.

>Meanwhile, Alyssa walks slowly down the hall, passing close to another one of the downed masked people. It twitches, causing its sickle to scrape against the floor, which Alyssa immediately reacts to by swinging her sword in its direction.
>Upon making contact with its flesh, the sword lets out a small pulse of pale greenish-blue light along with tiny arcs of similarly colored electricity, which crackle into the surrounding air and across the surface of her target, which also ceases to move.

>Proudly proclaim that you solved this incident.
>You proudly state that you solved the incident as the two of them make their way to the last target and finish it off together.

>Ask whether if you should have killed the youkai or left them unconscious.
>"Well, they are a threat to this facility, so killing them is preferred." Alyssa explains as she turns back to you, hesitating for a moment, "Though... should this ever happen again, and one of us or another employee of this facility is in the crossfire, then if you could I would like it if you didn't shoot to kill." she turns her head about, "Archer?"

>"Yes?" the man in question replies, causing Alyssa's head to focus in his direction.
>"Was that all of them?"
>Archer pulls out a device from his pocket and examines it, "They're mopping up the last Sweeper squad as we speak, but Big Bird has escaped again."
>"Great..."
