An Unusual Abnormality - Redux (A Lobotomy Corporation x ??? Interactive Quest)

Day 1.18
> "I'm a Hellraven!"
>"I see... Well you certainly don't look like a raven aside from the wings..." she pauses for a moment, "At least that's what others have told me when describing your appearance..."

>Puff out proudly.
>"I work for Ms Satori and do anything she needs me to do."
>"I'm also her pet! She takes good care of me."
>"I see... Could you tell me a bit more about this..." she scribbles something on the clipboard, "Ms. Satori?"
>_

Day 1.19
>"It's true! I'll show you!" (before the quoted part, of course)
>Transform into our raven form
>You transform into your raven form.
>Alyssa doesn't respond for a minute before coughing lightly, and subtly gesturing to the bandages over her eyes, "Er.... You do know I can't see you, right...?"

>Transform back after proving your point
>You change back.

>"Ms Satori is in charge of the Palace of Earth Spirits!"
>"She can also read minds!"
>"I see... Sounds like somebody to be cautious of... What is this Palace of Earth Spirits you refer to?"

> Give a very generalized version of our backstory, our roll and where we came from.
>You give her a light explanation about your backstory, telling her you're from a land called Gensokyo and that the Palace of the Earth Spirits is part of Former Hell in the Underground. You also tell her about your role in keeping the fires of Blazing Hell at an optimum temperature before you gained you current level of power.
>"...You tried to burn the surface...?" she questions when you get the point where you had your little power trip and the Geyser Incident that resulted from it.

Day 1.20
>Laugh sheepishly at that.
>You chuckle a bit in embarrassment. You seriously thought that's what you were meant to do with your power at the time....

> "Err...how do you read and write down on the clipboard then?"
>"I wasn't always blind, so I have muscle memory to go off of, plus a bit of practice since I got this 'gift'... Though I admit that not being able to see if your writing is legible anymore can be frustrating at times..."

> "Don't worry, Incidents like that are usual there and they often solved itself by imploding or falling apart without much people been hurt. Now where was I ..." Continue your story with some generalized info about spell cards, it's history and how they keep the damage minimal.
>You continue, explaining what you know about the spellcard laws.
>Alyssa's pencil runs off of the bottom edge of the clipboard partway through your explanation, and with a light swear she flips the page and continues, "Hmm... So a nonlethal form of combat is normal where you're from... I suppose that's why you were asking me if I wanted a duel during your breach... So how nonlethal are we talking? Just pain? Any permanent damage?"

Day 1.21
> " Oh yeah, you are a human right? For myself (a yokai) and others like me it would probably knock them out the most, but for humans, I suppose it depends on the power intensity of the shot. The weakest would probably cause a mild sting or a punch, but higher level can kill. You also need to watch out for the amount of shots since each combat in my world can cover the sky like rain."
>You explain, omitting the part about killing a human. The spellcard laws are inherently nonlethal, incapacitating at worst for both humans and youkai, to use potentially lethal danmaku variants would be a direct violation of them.
>"L-Like rain!?" Alyssa remarks, "I see, so it would be a bit troublesome for us to avoid... Good thing EGO can soak up quite a bit of damage..."

Yup, sounds better.

> *stomach growls*
> "Hey, uh, do you have anything to eat?"
>"Unfortunately this isn't Instinct work, so it will have to wait. But when Instinct is assigned we could definitely provide you with the standard meal we give to humanoid abnormalities. Do feel free to tell us your preferences if you have any special dietary requirements, though."
>"Speaking of Instinct, what is your policy on physical contact for the purposes of cleaning? Might as well set that boundary now since some abnormalities can be rather adverse to it... Especially the more humanlike ones."
>_

Day 1.22
> " As long as not to invasive and you people respect my privacy it's fine."
>"I see... Hmm, I suppose I'll put in a request to set you up with a means to clean yourself, in that case."

> "Don't worry it possible to lower the speed and amount of shots to individual levels for training as no one is born with that kind of skills."
>"Noted."

>"I like eating meat!"
>"What other types of work are there besides Instinct and Attachment?"
>"Carnivorous diet..." she mumbles as she continues to scribble on the clipboard, "Well there's Insight, which is mostly environment optimization -- which is what I was assigned earlier when I put up the radiation shielding -- and... Repression... But I doubt we'll assign that work with you outside of exceptional circumstances."

>The sound of a buzzer fills the room.
>"Well, it seems like that's all the time we have for this session." Alyssa notes as the door slides open, "I'm currently the only agent in this department equipped to work with ALEPH-class abnormalities, so you'll see me again later."

Day 1.23
OOC: Just a thought but couldn't Utsuho generate more energy when using her nuclear spell-cards or her general powerset due to creating more energy? If that's the case then couldn't one of the works done on her be replaced with something called Duel. It just has a high chance of injuring whoever is up against her.
//Well you would need to give the facility a reason to have an alternate form of work. For instance, Sacrifice for [CENSORED]/Nameless Fetus exists for a reason.
//Additionally, I would imagine that it would be logical to assume that some initial interviews/attachment work took place before Little Red/Freischutz's services became available.
=========================

> "Well if you ever need help don't be afraid to let me know!"
OOC : should we give her a feather as gift?
>She pauses midstep and turns her head back towards you.
>"....I'll pass that along."

>wave goodbye cheerfully
>You wave as she passes through the door. It loudly slams shut behind her.
>You are by yourself once more...

Day 1.24
> Lean against one of the wall and close your eyes to rest and pass the time.
>You lean against the closest wall and close your eyes.

> Start humming to yourself.
>Nod your head to the familiar tune that you hum.
>As you do so, you close your eyes and begin to hum a tune that just seems to come naturally to you.

>consider about what this place is for.
>As you hum, you begin to think about the purpose of this place. They're keeping you in a room, and you think they mentioned something about containment and classification... So maybe they're keeping something here? Alyssa also kept mentioning something about abnormalities so maybe things aren't normal here either? You can only speculate....
>At least they're treating you decently well here so far, wherever this is... You still want that furniture and/or blankets and pillows so you can actually nap...

>Eventually your thoughts are broken by a different kind of alarm from earlier blaring. Opening your eyes, you notice a panel on the wall opposite of you sliding open to reveal a console with a screen above it. On the screen is orange text that reads:

>SYSTEM ERROR: QLIPHOTH MELTDOWN IN PROGRESS: MANUAL VENT REQUIRED TO PREVENT CONTAINMENT FAILURE
>Above that text is a red bar that seems to be ticking down every second, along with a countdown.

Day 1.25
//Last parse until morning.

>Clearly, your music set off the alarm. Stop humming.
>But the ☢ CAUTION!! ☢ sounds make it authentic!

> Check to see if anything changed in the room.
>You glance about. Aside from the new panel, nothing has changed.

> See if you can interact with the panel.
>You walk over to the panel and attempt to interact with it. Tapping on it seems to do nothing, but there's a lot of buttons on the console below it...

>Wonder why there is such a soddy system in place if the containment doors open when the meltdown hits zero.
>You ponder...
>Well, meltdowns are a bad thing. So maybe it's so things in containment can evacuate before things explode...? ...Maybe? Would it still be containment at that point?

> Watch the panel until the timer runs out then check again.
>You step back and watch as the timer ticks down...
>Within moments you hear the room door open. Glancing over, you're surprised to see that it isn't Alyssa.

>Instead, it's a man with a mane of brown hair in a black suit, mounted on his back is what seems to be a coffin. Held in little holders at the man's sides are a pair of strange devices -- one white, and one black -- each inscribed with butterfly-like patterns. They remind you of the black thingamabobs the screaming people earlier dropped when they were panicking at the sight of you.

>He puts on a strained smile, before hastily making his way to the panel, pressing several buttons before a larger one pops out of the console.
>He presses it, and immediately a sound akin to steam being vented is heard as the alarm shuts off. The panel then retracts back into the wall.
>He then takes a deep breath and turns towards you.
>"Uh... Hi..." he speaks, "Your meal should be coming any second now..."

Day 1.26
>"Hi there! What's your name?"
>You thank him.
>"Archer." he replies.

> "So what caused the meltdown warning?"
>"Sometimes the system malfunctions when too much Enkephalin is being processed into energy at once, causing a sort of negative energy buildup that affects several containment units. If it's not handled, it causes a minor energy leak as well as a short-out of the affected containment unit."

>"I thought Alyssa was the only one in this department who could handle Aleph-type stuff?"
>"She's the only one with ALEPH-rated gear, yes. But unfortunately our captain was busy with another Abnormality when the meltdown occurred, so I was sent instead... At least according to her reports you have yet to try to harm her inside your unit so far, so I'm not too worried..."
>Of course, he still eyes your third leg cautiously despite saying this.
>_

Day 1.27
> "Thanks for the heads up, though what kind of stuff do you serve?"
>"Usually run-of-the-mill cafeteria-type stuff until we know your preferences. Though since you specified meat you'll likely get a tray full of it. ...You don't prefer it raw, do you? Because I'm pretty sure it's going to be well-done when it arrives."
>As if on cue, a portion of the wall slides open to reveal a tray with some cooked steak on it.

> " Don't worry, I don't attack if not provoked."
>"...And what, dare I ask, would provoke you...?" he questions as he grabs the tray.

>"Wait, energy build-up? Enkephalin? Is this place some kind of reactor?"
>See if you can sense/see whatever this "Enkephalin" is.
>You attempt to sense whatever this thing is, having no luck.
>"...That's a question better suited for attachment work, but in a way, yes." Archer replies as he sets the tray on the floor in front of you, "We're an energy company, and we create energy by refining a substance known as Enkephalin, which is released by Abnormalites and captured by these containment units."
