Aiding the E.G.G.M.A.N. (Sonic)

I mean, it was loyal enough to Gerald to finish his final plans, even if it meant death.
Is it? Or was it just extremely angry at the hogs that beat it up due to it rampaging and being in their way?

And would it have died if it caused a massive collision if it regenerated from that earlier beating up?

Personally, I just don't have high hopes for the noted to be uncontrollable and rampaging thing being easily made loyal in as short of a time as Sonic Adventure 2 seems to occur.

Random thought that's been in my head off-and-on for the past few days: Dash Acceleration might be Silver Sonic's version of Boosting. Which, if accurate, would mean we could potentially give him one of Sonic's abilities before Sonic himself gets it.

I mean silver sonic can also reach the level of speed that super sonic does so not only would he have an ability sonic later gets he has an even better form of it, that would rile up both sonic and metal sonic.

I dunno... On the one hand, Silver Sonic weighs a lot more than Sonic does (due to being both a lot bigger and made of metal); on the other hand, I'm pretty sure super forms give a sizeable boost to brute strength too. Depending on which has more influence on any given impact, Silver Sonic might, shocking as it may sound, wind up faster than Super Sonic.

On an unrelated note, I have this bizarre urge to make a wall boss for the power plant I've been planning out. Yes, that's pretty much exactly what it sounds like: A wall that is fought as a boss. Could someone help me come up with something more reasonable to use instead, or at least ways of making that wall vaguely practical?

I thought we already had a few suggestions for power plant boss's?

right now I've got two ideas, a giant electric gorilla (no I don't know why I went for a gorilla it just felt right), or a tank built to look like a furnace with all kinds of fire abilities (going with a coal power plant aesthetic)

If we did, I didn't see them.

Anyway, off to my suggestions compilation. I'll probably be a little more vague on the electro-gorilla (as in, calling him a simian instead of a gorilla), if only because you reminded me of a Mega Man X boss and it's entirely possible we could build him. I'll also be putting the Furnace Tank in the "fire level" section, since I've put my power plant designs under an electrical theme.

Maybe we could have a robot that can interface with electronics or something, and a hypothetical boss fight would have it show up, taunt the opponent, then interface with a pod on the wall. From there, it attacks using weapons in the wall and is guarded by a forcefield that can be disabled by hitting a specific part/parts of the wall. That way, a wall boss fight could be justified by saying that the facility is designed to lure intruders to that spot so the bossbot can interface with the stuff installed in the wall and take them out.

Or, I guess the bot wouldn't need to necessarily interface with stuff, so long as we installed some controls in wherever in the wall it hops into. Maybe like a larger Egg Pawn with a hardhat and vest or something, and then the wall could attack with lasers or electricity or something. And to expand the forcefield idea, maybe there are circuity designs on the wall that feed power to the forcefield, and the opponent would need to hit specific spots to disrupt the circuit and thus leave the boss open for damage while the forcefield is temporarily down.

Eh, I dunno, just spitballing. Hope this helps a bit.

Got some interesting ideas, there. Went ahead and added the wall as a vehicle now that there's a semi-plausible way to make it a boss, and added the "interfacing pilot" suggestion too since I don't remember there being anything else that can serve that role.

As to how to get enemies to the wall, we could just go the simplest way: There's only one way to go to reach the core, and the wall happens to be directly in the way. Slightly more complicated (but significantly more risky) would be making the wall itself the objective.

Had an idea for another vehicle just now: Egg Boiler. Going by the name, it'll presumably fire jets of superheated water or steam. I'd kinda like it to be a boss, but if you think it'd work better as a miniboss like MP Gamma I'm down with that too.

It's got boss potential but it's gonna need more gimmick's as well maybe have the fight take place above superheated water as a way for it to not only refuel its ammo but to protect itself via hot metal.

I'm fine with this. I mean, if it's gonna weaponize hot water and/or steam, we're likely to put it in a stage that already has them present.

...Oh, hot spring theme! That'd work, right?

...It'd be a major honor if we make a vehicle so good that Eggman decides to pilot it personally, wouldn't it?

When you said hot springs for some reason I thought of ninjas probably should lay off the games, of course it would be a honor the problem is fine tuning it to Eggman's very particular taste in vehicles.

I don't see why not hot spring ninjas, honestly. I mean, there're more thematic badniks we could put there, but ninjas would work.
Well yeah there are more thematic badniks we could put there, but till then ninjas seem at least somewhat fitting and also I like the idea of ninja pawns gliding via big kite.

Well, can't really add ninja pawns (since they're already in my list- first entry in the Pawn Series section, in fact!), but I can work on fleshing out the Egg Boiler a bit more.

Basically it floats around the arena, covered in a cloud of steam, and shoots scalding water at enemies. Its vulnerable phase would be when it runs out of water, because then the steam dissipates until it can dive into a pool of water to refill its tanks. Naturally, since the water it dives into is scalding too, the intruder would need to attack between the Boiler running out of ammo and diving to reload.

This, in turn, implies multiple openings in the arena for the Boiler to dive into, which gives enemies the added complication of avoiding falling into the water and boiling themselves alive. Add a few steam vents for additional course hazards, and you've got a credible boss fight, I feel.

Your missing the flipping platforms so they can't stay camping in one stop but other than that it's definitely boss material now.

If we're gonna do that, might as well go all the way: Retracting platforms that make the openings the Boiler dives into to refill. This gives the added benefit of a shrinking arena to make falling in a bigger threat as the battle continues.

I do love a timed boss battle they always seem to be cool or in this case hot.

...Would periodically dumping more water into the arena be too much? Like, not necessarily to "flood the arena" levels, but the possibility of knocking intruders down mid-jump like Forces Chemical Plant sounds useful. Might even upgrade it to "late-game boss" territory.
