Do we need to take the Shattersaw Presidency campaign action? Even if we don't send the action, is there any one else who would beat us in the running?

1) Yes, I want to develop weapons that have a chance of helping us against the pDE.

I don't think they exist unless we start talking top tier DAoT gear. The more powerful our weapons, the less they need to hold back for this to be an interesting game. The Eldar can always escalate enough to maintain the same degree of superiority they're currently applying.

As psykers of enormous power, Eldar don't need infrastructure or institutional support in the same way humans would.

Possibly. But there really isn't a reason to not develop the best weapons we can. Besides, we're soon enough after the Fall that we may be able to get some of the good stuff.

Also, I'm just a touch nervous about the planet we're on. It might have been natural accidents, but there is also the possibility that something drove this planet into the devastating evolution it has undergone. Because seriously, it is downright strange for the Eldar to lose control of a Craft like this

Maxwell Aetos (Dragonflies)
Rolled 57 + 22 + 8 + 11 = 98

vs.

William Orange (504s)
Rolled 23 + 36 + 14 + 7 = 80

vs.

You
Rolled 90 + 30 + 13 + 6 = 149

We had a total bonus of 49, plus some sort of other bonus somewhere since the numbers don't add up, quite, Maxwell had a bonus of 41...and the 504s had a bonus of 57.

Which means a bad roll or not paying attention could *totally* lose us the election. Both would make it inevitable.

[X] Attempt to flip the agent (504s at -40 offensive intelligence rolls and -10 defensive rolls if successful) (0.9x)
[X] Do an internal sweep - You should probably check that your own internal security is not compromised
[X] Internal Investigation - Investigate Grave Tenders
[X] Portable Missile Launcher
[X] Help your daughters with their homework
[X] Try to work with Mirande specifically
[X] Run for Shattersaw president (100C personal wealth)

[X] Keep an eye on the agent for now (504s at -20 offensive intelligence rolls against you in the future) (1.0x)

[X] Internal Investigation - Investigate Grave Tenders

[X] EM Field Gun Design

I don't think the kind of gear I'm talking about existed on our world in the first place. I'm talking about their chrono weapons and black hole guns and similar. Basically, hyper-tech that might as well be magic.

Lack of giving a shit, probably, and exodites being ideologically unwilling to pull out the big guns.

I like how people are still voting to work with Mirande when we have nothing to teach her and still need two actions to mine the eldar index WHICH WE CAN FAIL.

How many turns do we have left until Mirande is locked at the lowest possible psyker education trait? three? four?

Hmm. Honestly though, while we should try, it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't get the presidency. After all, people are pretty happy with the way we are running Shattersaw so I don't expect too many drastic changes even if we lose, and if we lost it might be a good way to get our governments working together. Obviously, we want to win, but even losing can be used to our advantage.

Honestly, we're odds on to lose the election anyway on those numbers. Risking Miranda for that is not worth it. The chance of a stable psyker tradition is much more attractive than being figurehead of a not very useful polity for a few years. We've done just about nothing with the Presidency, after all.

Except we probably have an incumbent effect going in, and you do realize that this turn we can initiate reforms to strengthen the Presidency and the Confederacy itself.

6 remember our kids do not become adults till they are 20

They were born turn 5, that makes them 14 this year meaning we have five turns maximum not including this one to train Mirande in techniques we have not yet even unlocked and need at least two successful actions to do so. The way things are going Mirande is going to be locked at the lowest level of the psyker education tree.

That's the level that explicitly has nearly or no control over their powers and ends up with terrible side effects like possession or driving every one around them insane.

Six, including this turn, and again, adults can improve their education traits in this quest.

Eh, fair enough I suppose but even so the earlier we unlock the actual training techniques the better as presumably improving as an adult is much much harder yes?

Do we want to though, given the 504s recent actions? On top of that, do we know what the cost in actions of doing those reforms is.

Yeah, based on this analysis the alien knowledge action is critical.

We sure as hell don't want the 504s to get any stronger, and I'm utterly confused by your position, honestly, especially since my plan specifically mentions working with Miranda and meditating on the alien knowledge...and doing the campaign. Three actions.
