My, we...probably actually have expected something like this. The psykers we were most likely to find would either be those with little-to-no control over their powers, or those who manage to survive out in the woods, because I doubt that the other communities would tolerate someone who both broke things with weird powers, and was documented dragon bait.

Against a pyromancer like that we might as well go alone. The Jaegers don't add much protection to us from the fire. If you bring anyone, you might as well bring a mech so they actually help.
Just meet them alone and use epic diplomacy.

AN what does this actually entail? Are we talking about a tarantuala/arachne mech? And does that include Mirande going along with the heavy hardware?
I think we ought to be more worried about the mis-aimed fireball getting "fate" pulled by Tzeentch straight into a weakspot of the materium realm and inducing a greater incursion of an exalted Lord of Change who would like to teach us how to play poker.
Ahh I see folks want to go with the "Insert face into rotary impeller" option again. Right after asking for less escalations. Oh well at least the rollercoaster mood swings are fun to watch.

We can't throw away soldiers for this. She's as likely to attack us as she is to listen to us, and the most we'll be able to do is reign in some of her latent power. She's strong, yeah, but she's also clearly an independent person who won't have any problem getting up and walking away if she doesn't like our proposal.
Ever so glad the critical psyker hunt roll got us this problem child. All in favor of not doing the hunts after this round?

This seems to confirm that we currently don't have the means to find young psykers suitable for ward slots before they become dragon food even with a really good crit. So if we continue to go on psyker hunts without improving relevant powers or psi scanners we are probably not going to find anything at all most years and otherwise psykers who manage to avoid becoming dragon food and are therefore really dangerous to deal with. Those we'd probably learn about anyway eventually.

Well, AN very carefully worded his post regarding the Witch of Wildfire. There isn't any strong evidence regarding her age. We might be about to step up to 40k's Charlie Mcgee, who would be young enough to do at least partial solid training on... And yes, I've already decided she's a girl below the age of majority. I don't care if I'm wrong, I decided it, so it will be so.
