That. Was. AWESOME! Entertainment acquired from this quest is now approaching dangerous levels!
  • This guy has critical failure armor!
  • This guy has 10 martial! Pff!
  • This guy has 80 PC to make up for it :o
  • Is that a +50 Warp Conduit Trait?!
  • ... How did this moron get to that level of power with 15 willpower?
Assuming we kept the -40 surprise and stacked on additional penalties from firing really far away, I'm inclined to say we would have done just that @Ekans Ekans Ekans

In addition, so glad we opted to go in close. We had no idea he was basically prepping his own miniature Eye every time he stopped for a party, and that kinda shit just can't fly. Bro gotta die.

[X] Ordained One!

So what we have here:
The Ordained One is going all Tetsuo on us (But at least we don't have to kill him a dozen more times this way. Seems like MM only burned one member of the chorus [EDIT: Which was then turned into a Daemonhost? Or maybe MM just got no traction after all. Still think he would've had 1ups for each of the psykers :p])
We have a Warp Breach like Glass Canopy
We have a Greater Incursion like Glass Canopy II: Archduke Boogaloo
The mutants and chaos spawn are all rioting
The trees will be coming to eat us any minute now

But hey, at least we can use Greater Fortune again now! If we don't die first!

Our dice certainly want us to live in interesting times.

@Academia Nut given how the vote seems to be unanimous is there any chance of a second update tonight?

Yeah, the ranged kill was a sucker bet as expected. Still, here comes Nurgle.

... On the plus side, if we kill it, we'll have the whole four-Daemon thing. That'll have to be worth something.

Also, We have a major fucking problem.

We need to get the Gravekeepr Treasures Now, before Dandriss shows up, or we'l probably never find them.

  • Is... Is that +65 WV his education bonus?

Weakened Veil. Each of the psykers in his chorus was manifesting a power that basically thinned the walls between the Materium and Immaterium so he could draw on more power, at the cost of making psychic phenomenon basically inevitable.

The Ordained One is even more of a scrub tier psyker than Mag, he just has buckets of power that would have killed him already if not for [REDACTED, TUNE IN TOMORROW]

Chaos undivided for a balanced meal?

Stumbling back, your body partially smoking from the energy flowing through it, you glare daggers at the albino giant and say, "I've eaten worse than that."

Girl... oh wait, you actually have. Good boast.
:D
Saber vs. UNLIMITED POWAH!
Rolled 47 + 30 + 50 WC + 65 WV + 40 Push + 10 Focus + 10 Discharge = 252
vs.
Rolled 91 + 64 + 10 PC + 53 AI - 10 Wounded = 208
It hurts and stings
Warp Conduit and Weaken Veil if I got that right... What roll was this one? Was it a fighting roll, or "roll to burn his soul" roll?
Rolled 26 + 20 + 80 PC = 126 (Attack expended, can only defend)
vs.
Rolled (96+14) + 64 + 10 PC + 53 AI - 30 Injury = 207
Contact you son of a bitch!
Yes! Get'im!
Rolled (98 Discharge! + 89) + 30 + 50 WC + 65 WV + 40 Push + 10 Focus = 382
vs.
Rolled 8 49 + 106 + 60 Power + 10 WC + 65 WV + 10 Focus + 40 Push = 340
Doink!
Dammit.

"Why won't you die already?!" --Ordained One and Mirande both

I wish, but he does have to give everyone a chance to see it before the nervous energy to see where this goes consumes him. I imagine he was wiping away the tears as he matched up the rolls to the results. I wonder how badly his lungs hurt from laughing?

Mostly just sleepy, but yes, if I could somehow raise enough money from this I would probably write 5000+ words a day as often as I could and I would probably be preparing the next update right now instead of getting ready to sleep so I will be functional in the morning.

Is the Ordained One at least worth a decent pile of XP?

Not as much as the Dark Seer (albeit some of the XP was tossed into the virtual years and education rank level up), but you're likely going to pick up some "psychic practice" XP and completing the quest is also worth some general XP.

So no matter what happens we're ensuring that anyone that survives the deluge of trees is killed before they can run around like the mass of plagued half mad fanatics they are right?

"The Breach I"Rolled 35 - 20 = 15
Strength 3

Rolled 7

The sound of buzzing from the growing breach and sick, phlegmy laughter from the now possessed psyker answers him. Rusty swords begin to poke their way through the breach, which is now dripping greenish pus that causes the metal of the tunnel to curl up into adamantine flies that skitter flightlessly across the ground for a few seconds before crumbling away to rust. Before you can adequately do anything about that the daemonhost gestures and fires a bolt of sickly vomit brown energy into the remains of the screaming cloud, afflicting those struck with horrible wasting diseases that rapidly begins to rot the flesh from their bones.
So, um... How strong is this Daemon actually?

And I'm actually worried about that Breach too -- what if it's going to cause Perils of the Warp for Psyker power-use for the rest of the fight? That's going to suck.

First round

Second round

No, this is confirmation that we should have taken the shot.
How do you figure? I'm curious. I mean, sure, we could have run with our tails between our legs because that shot would not have killed him at all, but we'd eventually end up fighting this thing in roughly the same situation if we did an army battle, if only because Mag rolled like a boss to control the mob. At the rate he was going, and the fact that he had crit-failure immunity and apparently a badass warp trait if having +25 to his perils rolls didn't kill him already, he would probably have outclassed us in the two-odd months we had to fortify ourselves.

What is left is... not the original inhabitant

Well... shit. Oh hey, a Nurglite daemonhost!

Okay now... priorities. The "Ordained One" can probably keep... a bit, at least - he's going to be struggling to deal with the other problems as well. The daemons are going to rampage a bit, but I suspect they'll be distracted doing the gleeful horrors bit. The breach... definitely a danger, but I'm not sure how effective our abilities would be against it, particularly while distracted.

[X] Daemonhost!

So the daemonhost it is. Although an alternative *is* to GTFO, perhaps ganking the target on our way out, and then performing containment procedures if necessary. But I want to take out the daemonhost, *then* the Ordained One and then GTFO/contain. An unleashed daemonhost can... last for a bit. Particularly if its driving people mad or corrupt.

I half-suspect that the daemonhost is going to be our next big obstacle if we don't prioritize it.

@Academia Nut So...would the AM rifle have done anything?

Actually, I suspect we could've maybe ganked some or all of his choir and then slipped away. He's somewhat less potent with them out of the way.
