You know, the whole point of her training up is to stop being a fangirl. I tried writing an omake exactly for that like, 15 posts up. So much wasted potential!

I think it was mentioned that she never really was into it, not like Sakura. She did it more for Sakura herself than because she likes Sasuke.

I see Ino as someone that would grow to appreciate respect he is likely to give if she works hard, and to respect him in turn because she would know how hard it is to get good like that, but that's it, respect.

Honestly I am not sure if the ISC group is going to be broken up.

As Ino, Shikamaru and Chouji if I am remembering right are Clan Heirs.

And since their parents were in the same team who used their Jutsu's of their respective clans to great affect with each other.

I think the team choosers would probably want another team like that again.

I'm fairly certain she's into it because she also has the hots for Sasuke, at least partially.

Sakura ended her friendship(became a more hostile rivalry) with Ino because she found out Ino was also attracted to Sasuke. Ino might be less of a fangirl than Sakura but she's still a fangirl of Sasuke because of Sasuke. Not because of Sakura.

If she didn't like Sasuke I highly doubt Sakura would've broken her friendship with Ino. And I doubt she'd engineer that kind of scenario. Trying to force a "fix" in that way takes away a large part of what her character was revealed to be early on in the series.

Ino is Ino, That includes her flaws. Just like how Sasuke and Naruto can be assholes in different ways from certain points of view despite having perfectly legitimate reasons for their behaviour.

If she trains for her pride as top Kunoichi of the class? That doesn't magically make her less of a fangirl, that just means she trained because of her pride. Reinforcing her pride might even cement her outward fangirlism. Partially due to not wanting to lose to Sakura in the arena of love and partially because her pride and appearance are closely tied together - more pride would probably strengthen the notion that she "deserves" Sasuke.

Considering how she eventually fell for Sai in canon? Sasuke is her "type"

Of course there is weight behind, but they are between the largest clans of all Konoha. There can easily be dozens of ISC teams around.

Konoha has been lacking fire power thanks to the Kyuubi, making a stacked assault team is of great interest to them.

I don't disagree with you that she likes him some. I'm saying that we have been given hints that this Ino is much less of a fangirl than in canon, she isn't shown as ridiculously smitten as Sakura in the anime/manga, that's basically playing ninja to be together with her Sasuke-kun. Even in canon, Ino isn't silly fangirl like that, she seems to revel in the rivalry, in the competition itself more than anything.

But hey, I'm simply making a point for an eventual team I favor over Naruto/Hinata, because that's where we seem to be going. We might just get paired with two OCs.

Might be a bit far fetched. If we wanna hang out with the lazy Nara(I do), and it wins trough the wote, and ryuan dont like it, we wasted 1/3 of beeing social.
Here is my trail of thought:
We hang out with Naruto most days, at school, and I consider Shikamaru a friend of Naruto, together with Kiba and Choji, so I think it is kinda likely that we know theese three a bit better that rest of the class.
But yeah as of now we dont know him so good as to suddely knock on his door and say: "HEY BUDDY! wanna hang out?"
But not unlikely that we have hung out during school.

If we let slip our Observe skill, then Us/Hinata/Shino makes sense as the ultimate information gathering squad. We can easily replace Kiba in that cannon set. On a tactical level, our regeneration and shino's chakra transfer are good to have on the same team, and if we push Hinata, and get her on our team, we both get to help a friend, and get a good team member.

    You could not help but be a tad exhausted as you hang your new formal clothes up. A Fetch quest. a Kami damn fetch quest! one that had you running around all of Konohagakure doing countless little things just so you can get some nice clothes! You sigh and lay down on your bed one component down two to go . you had no idea what the ??? was and you where having a hard idea with a good gift for Hinata. A knock on your door interrupted your sulking brooding nap. with a grunt you get up and open the door to reveal Naruto standing outside rubbing his head " hey Tetsuo got a minute?" You shrug and wave him in " Sure Naruto what's up "

    The Blond knuckle head sits down on your couch and fidgets a bit. you raise an eyebrow Naruto? Nervous? what sort of Bizarreo Universe did you stumble into? " You got the invite to Hinata's part as well right?" he asked as he finally got his tongue working straight. You nod and he fidgets some more before " I... I haven't actually gone to a birthday party before and i was wondering... can you help me prepare for it? I Don't want to disappoint Hinata I mean she's my friend i don't want to let her down" you stare at the Blond for a few seconds,say what? never seen a birthday party? I mean sure Orphanages can't really fund a lot party s but the Genin team that more or less raised you made a point to check in on you on your birthday for a small party at least.Jese he must have been saddled with one of those bad teams you hear about. You nod and grin trying to lighten the mood " Sure thing in fact I was just going out to go find a gift for her, why don't you come with and I'll fill you in" ​

    A few things became readily apparent as you and Naruto explored the market district. first neither of you had a clue what to get Hinata and it showed by a lot of looking around uselessly. second Merchants for whatever reason hated Naruto with a burning passion they would try to overcharge him, haggle much harder then any of their other customers or just plain refuse him service, he could not have pranked them all right? and thirdly a large portion of the village seemed to make it their favorite pastime to glare at Naruto and mutter angerly which Naruto promptly ignored , ... well you think you found the reason why Naruto was so dense and your pretty sure you don't like it.

    It took several hours of running shop to shop, some arguments with merchants, a dramatic battle with some no name street thugs ( literally their name above their heads where Street thugs... Maybe your kekkei genkai is acting up? who do you even talk to about that?) and a quarter of your monthly budget but you finally managed to get Gifts from both you and Naruto to give to Hinata. You pull out the invite and glance at it again " Hey Naruto you have formal cloths for the Party right?" The kucklehead nods " yeah it Looks great!" you narrow your eyes suspiciously at him "... Maybe you should let me see it first"​

    You activate Buki Arashi no Jutsu and chuck a dozen dulled training Kuni in Naruto's general direction " NO, That is not formal wear that is NOT Good looking or badass it Makes you look more like a Dumbass " Naruto pouted " But" you interrupted with a dozen more kuni " NO!" After avoiding the your rightful assault of Kuni and washing off his face Naruto Returned to his messy living room in consideration . "Well if your sure that's a bad idea" "By all that is holy Naruto it is" " then i guess I should ask the old man if he has some spares" You blink " I thought you where an orphan?" Naruto rolls his eyes " Heh I call him that but really he is one of the few people in the village whose nice to me hey how about i introduce you to him!" You nod your head " Sure why not"

You're almost certain this is just a bad dream brought about by your kekkei genkai acting up. " Oh and who's this with you Naruto" the God of Shinbi asked pleasantly. " Oh this is Tetsuo, Kurota Tetsuo a friend of mine from the academy! he's helping me get ready for my other friend's birthday party!" I, Gah wha, Gamer's mind activated speak words man! You shake your head and bow a bit " Kurota Tetsuo it's an honor to meet you sir" you somehow manage to squeak out before Glaring at Naruto " You said old man you kinda forgot to tell me HE IS THE KAMI DAMN HOKAGE!" Naruto tilted his head to the side " really? I'm sure I did" You put your head in your hands " This is about me saying the warpaint was a dumb idea is't it" the Hokage simply laughed as you and Naruto got into an argument and left the room. before you left you took a glance at his title and level.​

    The fact you got so little XP for a multi day quest was kinda annoying your not going to lie but at least you get a skill book out of it! Taking it out of your inventory you glare at the cover spitefully. it was a yellow and black book called "Formal Etiquette for Dummies" Sometimes you can't help but think your ability loves to mock you. Ignoring the slight to your intelligence you click yes to the prompt and the book dissolved into light and knowledge that your body absorbs you can feel the knowledge flow into your mind

    The study of cultural norms and behaviors of the Land of Fire ranging from Common norms to the most elaborate of ceremonies

    Increases Social gains in a formal setting by 5% decreases Social losses in a formal setting by 5%

    Huh that might be useful for the party at least. You straighten your tie and head on out you've got a party to attend.

    It stacks with the normal bonus.

    Also I think I will go with the simpler method of passive + passive and passive x active for ease of use. Unless a skill actively enhances another skill, in which case they stack normally.

    Hey, if we can influence Ino into being the BAMF she should have been, with her Yin release and some powerful taijutsu, Sasuke with Yang release and also powerful taijutsu, and us as The Gamer fulfuling any given role, they'd be a hell of a combat team. And, most of all, interesting.

    There are whole clans' worth of InoShikaCho squads, and the heirs already are childhood friends and likely neighbors. I think making a crack team is completely reasonable for Konoha.

    actually shino would be good for snarky, deadpan banter. but when i was talking team compositions i was going off of what the academy instructors would observe and suggest to who ever is incharge of making the teams

    He has many titles that's the one he is "wearing" when he is looking after the next generation. if we saw him in a fight then we would see " the professor" if we saw him going all out we would have seen " The God of Shinobi" if we had seen him handling politics we most likely would have seen "Hokage" if we saw him in diplomatic talks with other Villages we would have seen " Kage" the way i understand it Titles are not one and done they change depending on the situation and what " hat" the person is wearing at the time.

    Ah okay ( I assumed the Gamer only could control that rather then it be an unconscious process) it still works in this case as the Third's belief in the will of fire is the strongest in the Village and that's what he reflects the most. If you think I need to change it just tell me.

    So when we get Chakra Inner Flow, it will triple the damage bonus we receive from Konoha Academy Taijutsu, on top of anything the skill itself gives us. Neat.
