and we don't necessarily have high tier enough units to stop them if they deploy a chapter or more of astartes.
Yes we do, our Helguard have skill of veteran astartes and better weapons, and while they lack the "astartesness" and has weaker power armor they still are capable of fighting them, and we have hundred thousands of Helguard. And due to power armor and good weaponry Helltroopers are nearly as dangerous, and we have even more of them.

Two things:
1. I put our upper limit at a chapter or more. A chapter includes a lot of hero units, who are all glutted on the tainted milk of Chaos.
2. Between their spiritual power and their increased ability to concentrate force, astartes are good at special ops. Taking down shields, breaching walls, killing heroes; all these can change the course of battle with low risk of fighting peer opponents.

Good thing we have our own astartes to counter then.

At an average skill level a bit less than an imperial chapter (which given their numbers and the speed at which they've been put together is very impressive) loads of heroes, armour and weapons that would blow minds (the standard marine is in armour that is almost as tough as Imperial terminator armour, is several times more manoeuvrable and can either go invisible, get tougher or fly) and have a company worth of librarians.

And of course the 15 who could apparently take on a 1st founding chapter assuming the chapter in question doesn't have fleet support.

How many Space Marines do we have? We could ask them station a few of them on Avernus to protect Saint Lin.
Somewhere over 1000 by now.

Don't forget the Binoics and Battle Psykers and Primairis.

I suspect an Abomination Arc Mechanicus would be a daemon ship. If only because it'd have had a potent machine spirit already before the abomination got it's hands on it.
Put Lin on purifying it?
He seems to be bullshit enough that he might manage with enough support.

Or alternatively, figure out which animals specifically were purifying stuff in the aftermath of the chaos attack and spend a year hitting the ship with boarding torpedoes filled with the things?

Fellsword- A variation of the Felblade that replaces the main gun with a Neutron Obliterator, this is a Titan Hunter designed to engage enemy Superheavies at long range.
Found another potential Implement Technology for a turn or two from now. The Fellsword seems to the dedicated anti Titan tank found in the datacore, presented as a Titan killer and could partner well with our Sentinel Titan Killers. It would be pretty nice to have them against Beast Gargants.

@Shard
Any chance I can convince you to swap the free divination to either the force behind the Vulkan Imperium or just the Primarchs in general?

This is partially because any mysterious force behind a primarch makes me nervous and I'd really like to know where Russ and Corvus ended up.

I had horrible working hours the last few days and come back to the threat to 20 pages of missed discussion. And nearly missing voting...

[X] Plan Shard T103

The only question I have is why the investigate PA action is not doubled. I read that a second could be started later but would that not lead to two different rolls?

Krork gives us for information. And we can do it next year anyway.

But given that our ability to do anything about it is extremely limited, the order in which we select our Free Divinations is not especially important.

We don't want to eat Rotbart's action right now. 12 Years right now for +40 may or may not be worthwhile, but if you can do the action again later it leans more towards 'no'.

No I know that I just want to learn it know :p.

I mean if the order in which we learn it isn't important then really we should be divining Abadon's bunch of loonies and the Segmentum capital as they're possibly the closest bunch of loonies.

I'm biased towards diving the Krork so it works for me. Even if my inner min maxer says divine abbadabadoo.

Alternatively, we could divine out what uncorrupted polities are likely to survive in our Segmentum/ general vicinity, then send them long range diplomatic missions.

Also, it occurs to me that the use of runes empowered by psykers and used to focus powers is not unknown to the Imperium, the space wolves did it.

So things to eventually divine after the Abomination Crusade/Ork Waaagh(In no particular order);

1) Abbadon's Imperium
2) The Krork
3) The Primarchs
4) War in the Void
4) Banish/Exorists
5) Roskilde Yards
6) Hyrdaphur
7) The Destroyer
8) What's influencing Vulkan's Domain.
9) Armageddon

Anyone else have suggestions?

check my comment just above.

Sorry but we can retake investigate person as often as we want as well. Getting the crit through Fredericks help is the only reason to double up on it or doing it again that I see.

I assume spellcheck strikes again.
Nope, just me taking the shit on the armless one.

The Beast and Armageddon should be high up there IMO.

Missing grey knight

Missing Chaos psykers
The free Greater divination is for things 1000 Lightyears away; neither of those work.

Done, personally though I think that the War in the Void takes a bigger priority since we have both an Ork and Necron Domain nearly by and we have no idea as to when the latter will return or on the status of the Nids.
