As you leave the house with your cousin, you end up asking, "So what did you have in mind, anyway, Kyouko?"
She turns to you with a
special kind of grin, and you're afraid that the next words out of her mouth are going to be something really stupid.
"I know you've been drifting around the house all break, so I figured we'd spice things up by going to a magic show!"
.....a magic show, huh? "I guess that might be fun," you admit. "I mean, I was kind of afraid that you were going to drag me to another pro wrestling event again."
Kyouko's tone becomes
slightly defensive when she asks, "What's wrong with wrestling?"
"I don't have any problems with the sport," you say quickly while raising your hands in a show of non-aggression. "I just...."
....actually, there isn't a delicate way to put it, is there. "I was just remembering what happened
last time, when you were so head-over-heels for
that one guy that you
almost went home without me."
".....yeah," she eventually says with a wince, "I kind of deserved that." Plopping down onto a bench at the bus stop, she heaves a sigh, before looking at you with a guilty expression. "And I'm still sorry about it, by the way."
You.... really wish you hadn't mentioned that, now. "I'm sorry, too, Kyouko. I didn't mean to bring it up, it just kind of... happened that way."
The reigning silence is an awkward one, and remains so for several seconds, until an impish smirk worms its way onto Kyouko's face. "Soooo," she says without preamble, "you never
did tell me much about that school you're going to."
....on reflection, a part of you was afraid this conversation might happen. "H-haven't I? I thought I told everyone before, it's basically like any boring old school. It basically has all the same kinds of classes I took in middle school, they're just... harder now, because it's high school. Math, history, P.E., all that good stuff."
You can't quite manage to keep the nervousness out of your voice -- something that Kyouko picks up on immediately, and is all too happy to capitalize on.
"Oh, we got that spiel earlier. What
I wanna know is, 'has my adorably young cousin met any cute girls yet'?"
Okay, so apparently this discussion
is happening, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Kyouko clearly has
no intention of letting you escape without an answer. The only problem for you is.... how the HECK do you answer that?!
[]You don't. Instead, ask her about the magic show. That'd be way more interesting to talk about than your relationships anyway, right?
[]....she asked if you've met any cute girls at Youkai Academy. And, well.... bluntly, you have. If you only tell her that much, there shouldn't be any problems. ...right?
[]Well, three out of your four closest friends are girls, and one of them,
-[]Moka Akashiya, really enjoys painting as a hobby. And wouldn't you know, she's actually really great at it! You're convinced that she could totally be a famous painter one day, if she worked at it!
But make sure to leave out the part where she's an honest-to-God VAMPIRE with a malevolent secondary personality, and also the fact that she's fond of sucking your blood rather more often than you'd like...
-[]Kurumu Kurono, is practically the heart of the Newspaper Club. Additionally, she enjoys cooking.
But you can't let it slip that she's a Succubus, or Kyouko's sure to get all kinds of wrong ideas.
-[]Yukari Sendou, is an eleven-year-old genius who was smart enough to skip several years.
Definitely make every point possible of NOT bringing up her perverse attitude, nor the way it makes you immensely uncomfortable.
