#StickiedForAReason
Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

[X] Challenge the leader.
-[X] If it doesn't work out, try to escape in the fray.

So, finding fault with my own plan:
Diplomacy is our strongest suit. The plan makes most use of it, first by convincing the leader to accept, then if we are able to defeat him, by intimidating the others to follow us.

If we fail either diplomacy check, we can escape and come back to defeat them with other people. We can have other people be the guards for the guild. Won't be as ideal as the original guard, but maybe we shouldn't have a leader as stupid as Garret anyway.

Worst case is if we lose the battle, or worse, if Garret wins after we've fled. Than he has no reason to listen to us. He can just go back to guarding illegally like he used to, with no barons around.

So, to prevent that:
[X] See how many people the Barons brought.
-[X] If you feel your group can win, fight.
-[X] If not, challenge the leader.
-[X] If it doesn't work out or you seem to be losing, try to escape in the fray.

Because we only *think* there are 30 of them. There might be 15, or 60.

Huh. Another tie. However, this time one vote contains the other so...

[X] Plan: Better a coward for a minute, than dead for the rest of your life.
    - [X] Quickly ask for Garret's plan and for details on your opposition. If it seems good, do your best to help. If you think it has a high chance of failure, try to convince him to retreat.
    - [X] If Garret refuses, try to convince his men to retreat.
    - [X] If they refuse, retreat yourself.
    - [X] If you can't retreat, send a prayer to the gods and ready yourself for battle!
    [X] Challenge the leader.
[X] Keep that separate. Two different business ventures so you can charge the guild full price. 2 Talons for setup. All profits remain your own.

A Divine Order For This Mortal Coil - Part Seven
Winning Vote:

A Divine Order For This Mortal Coil - Part Seven
Third Week of the Fifth Month 297 AC

'Well,' you think to yourself 'too late to change his mind now. Best see what we're dealing with. I can decide to stay or run after.'

As the men come closer, converging on your small group from the various side alleys that feed into this open area, you start counting. 7, 12, 19, 24, 32, 36 in total. Slightly more than double your number. Manageable odds, and though they have you surrounded, they are spread thin, so if you try to escape you'll likely have to only bypass one or two men deep at most to do so. Not as bad as it could have been, all things told.

Last to arrive behind all the others, wearing a leather jerkin that no doubt passes for armor among these poor folk, comes a man who is obviously their leader. "Garrett!" the man yells out. "What d'ya want? Finally ready to give up and become a Baron?" He "asks" obviously not expecting that to be the case.

The Barons surrounding you and the Scorpions chuckle arrogantly. They seem eager for a fight, knowing that you're outnumbered and fingering their weapons eagerly.

Garrett stands a little taller, and raises his voice in response. "Give up? You should know me better than that Micah. I never give up. You? You're the one who gave up trying to take over the Scorpions and ran to take over the Barons because you could never beat Lester in a straight fight."

Micah's eyes narrow and the area gets quiet. He spits to his left and traces his finger along the edge of his dagger. "Aye, I couldn't. But only fools fight straight. Dead is dead Garrett. Lester learned that the hard way, didn't he?" Garrett stiffens as Micah continues, "But maybe you're right. Maybe I should have waited a little longer. I couldn't beat Lester, not playing by his stupid "rules" but I did beat you. Then I'd have been in charge of the Scorpions, and I still would have taken the Barons, and this wouldn't be happening right now."

Micah walks in circles as he talks, feigning (you hope) an uncaring attitude about it all. "Still, the past is the past, isn't it? If I'd known Lester was going to choke on his own soup only a few weeks later, I'd have made other choices, sure. But I didn't. So." He gives a wicked grin. "Time to die, Garrett."

And he throws his dagger, right into Garrett's left eye.

Immediately the battle starts in earnest, Scorpions fighting Barons. You hesitate, not sure if you should try to help Garrett, who may still be alive just down an eye, or start fighting yourself. The choice is made for you when a Baron tries to run you through the middle.

Sidestepping the dirty thief, you parry with your short sword and thrust your longsword into his heart, before moving onto your next opponent. The open area has become a mass of confusion. You'd heard tales, but you didn't know battles were this chaotic.

'Micah,' You realize. You need to find and kill Micah. He's the key to all of this. You take him down, you own these Barons. 'Of course these savages would go by might makes right. What other rule would they listen to?'

You plunge both your swords into two other Barons who are both too busy fighting a scorpion to be able to block or parry your attack. Fatal wounds both. Not all is going your way though, as one of them immediately falls to an oncoming Baron. Turning you finally spot Micah a short distance away, killing another Scorpion as you watch. Seeing you approach, he laughs.

"The little Valyrian lord everyone is talking about eh?" He rolls his shoulders, before taking a ready stance. "I'm surprised you got Garrett to work with you. That fool always did live in the past. He must have really been desperate to lower himself to that. To think, the day he finally grew is also the day he died."

You only barely manage to step aside as he flings a dagger at you, one you never noticed him draw.

"Quick reflexes too. Well, this should be fun."

'Well, that was easier than I expected,' is the only thing you can think before the rhythm of blades dancing consumes your mind.

The two of you go back and forth for a bit, before you realize that you are obviously outmatched. His way of fighting may not be conventional, but you are still not even average according to Matalarr, and he has years of experience at fighting dirty. Suddenly your vision blurs and you are on the ground, lying on your back and his blade is coming for your head before you even know how you got there.

You say your last prayers to the gods and know that Daenerys will never forgive you for this. Your death now is inevitable.

What do you pray in your final moments?

[] Write-in

Considering how dangerous this encounter was, I'm surprised no one used a nat20 on it. Even more surprised that no one asked any of the nat20 holders to use theirs.

Well, the quest isn't over yet. If you die, we can play as either Daenerys or Viserys. If you don't well... it is Game of Thrones. It's never over until it's over. And even then, sometimes not. R'hllor revived Jon apparently.

[X] Hear my plea! Oh gods of Fire and Blood!
-[X] Pray to the Gods of Valyria that you may turn defeat into victory. That your foes will feel your wrath, and learn the grim fate awaiting those that would spill the Blood of Old Valyria!
-[X] Promise your (continued) life to their service if they will but answer your call!
-[X] If the final sleep comes for you regardless, pray once more for the glory of House Targaryen!

edit 3: Changing my vote again.

Nat20 Holders (and other such benefits)
20s can be used on any vote. Multiple can be used on the same vote if it requires a d100. They are added as modifiers to the roll. Using 5 will equal instant success on a d100 roll.

Five d20s can be traded to force a 1 on an enemy of your choice.

[X] Pray to the gods of your ancestors! Pray to Balerion, to Meraxes, to Vhagar, beseech them to grant you your life. Pray that if they should see fit to take yours that they grant Dany a long and happy life.

Modified write in.

Can any of those nat 20 holders use their benefit here?

I should warn you all, I suppose.

Praying to all gods instead of just your own, could potentially have unforeseen consequences.

A nat20 roll can be used on any action that is a vote.

Edit: Using a nat20 on a normal roll is auto success. Using it on a d100 roll adds +20 to your modifier. You can use multiple nat20s on a single d100 roll. 5 nat20s on a d100 roll is auto success.

Getting any help from the gods would be a d100 roll.

[X] Pray to the great God Balerion. We are not dying here today. Our journey to greatness has just started and we for sure haven't accomplished what the gods had in store for us.

Let's hope that Balerion will favor us. I guess it's better to ask a God in particular that we favor than to send a wide message to all of them.

Anyway I would like to ask @Rivain @Mr Apollo or @MEHFOOD to use one of their respective n20 to help us with the prayer. It's all or nothing now.

Edit: if the 3 n20 holders use their roll we could get a +60 modifier.
