Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

Yes, but we should get know the men before trying to recruit them to our organisation.
I don't think we will get another chance to take control of them like this. This vote is asking us if we want to become their leader or their ally. I doubt the leader they choose when back on their feet will look kindly on us trying to take over

Hmm that's true but I am not sure if I want to employ the guys that just tried to rob us.

*Yawn*

I live yet again!

[X] Align with these men. If they and others are the remnants of a somewhat "honorable" gang, perhaps you can win them to your side by getting rid of their enemies. If so, you can hatch two dragons from one egg. Get rid of the violent gang, and perhaps gather some men that you can start building into your own force. Perhaps a private security company of some sort.

Seems reasonable.

I quite like this write in, they end up within our purview and we aren't close with them, it leaves us with more of a business relationship that will half manage itself freeing us up for more things

As an aside, do you guys like the accented writing, or should I have everyone talk normally? It's easier on me to just type normal, but I'll put it in for immersion if it works better for you all.
I don't mind as long as it isn't overdone

Those don't exist. Legal and protection racket are mutually exclusive terms. Legal protection is called hiring guards. These guys are a criminal protection racket that the city guards overlook because it makes their job easier.
Where is everyone getting this "legal protection racket" stuff from? Lmao... No. Aegon's idea is to have them go legit and be some kind of private security force. Like normal town guards, just privatized. Rich people have private guards for their homes and businesses already, this would just be the idea of a "guild" paying for protection from everyone else for members of said "guild".

You're already trying to start a guild, this would be getting hired guards for said guild. Of course, you'll have to take over and also convince the people to go legit, which depend upon rolls. The only reason to do this instead of just hiring new people directly, is that these people already have a trust relationship with the town guard, as well as the merchants.

Basically, think of the mob deciding to get out of drugs and turn their "fronts" into real successful business because turns out their places are making more money for less risk than the drugs they traffic. Similar concept, different business.

Since we're trying to establish a guild, these men could act as our own security or guard other people's properties. Naturally, having our own men guard someone's mansion/shop/farm would provide lots of juicy information to exploit.

Having a group of trained men loyal to us would also be useful should things turn violent in the city.

[X] Align with these men. They could be useful in taking down the gang, and you don't need to have anything to do with them afterwards. But it wouldn't hurt to have people in the underside of the city indebted to you.

As long as we're going legit and not joining that people in their illegal protection racket.

Well, it looks pretty decisive so I'll be closing the vote soon. Just remember, if you try to make them go legit, rolls determine success in doing so.

A Divine Order For This Mortal Coil - Part Five
Third Week of the Fifth Month 297 AC
"The merchants here are tired of being threatened. They want help dealing with your rival gang. I want to get my hands into the local businesses and make some decent investments. You want revenge. It seems we all want something that has to do with eliminating the same people."

The ringleader looks at you disbelievingly. "You, a Valyrian noble, wants to help us restart the Silver Scorpions?"

You adopt an easygoing smile, and respond with your true intentions. "Not as a gang, no. That would obviously ruin any attempts at a reputation here. But if you went straight... If you became true hired guards for these merchants here, instead of merely taking protection money without being the ones causing the need for protection in the first place, well; how would it really be any different than what you were already doing? Beyond having official licensing of course."

The other two look to Garret questionably. He snorts and shakes his head. "Lester wanted to do that too. Takes money for licensing though. Permits, uniforms, bribes to officials so you don't 'ave to wait 2 years for all the paperwork." At least 2 Iron Bars (Talons) worth in total, and when he ran the figures he said we'd only bring in about 50 Marks (Dragons) a year. No investor wants to wait four years to get his money back, and then only if we manage to succeed. Why d'you think we did it this way in the first place? We ain't thugs. Jus' people who wanted to keep our neck o' the city clean and safe fer our kids."

'Not thugs? Ha, considering they tried to attack me just for being Valyrian that's rather generous. Still, I can work with this.'

"I daresay these Barons of yours have likely rounded up a tidy sum of money... Take them down with me, and I'll hire you on. We'll use whatever we liberate from the Barons and I'll cover the rest. 2 Bars for a future investment is just the kind of money I'm willing to spend." This incident has perhaps been more useful than expected. Apparently Braavosi merchants like to think big. Perhaps you can cash in on smaller less wealthy investments if you have many of them.

"Unlike the nobles of Braavos," you continue, "I haven't been here long enough to only take 50 Bar deals. I am willing to deal in small investments to get the ball rolling. Of course, that would mean that you'd be following a Valyrian so if that's a problem..." you trail off, all while subtly making yourself seem the kind stranger willing to get dirty with the common folk rather than the arrogant lord. Perhaps if you show them a Valyrian different than the stories they've always heard, you can change their minds.

The man look at you while scratching his chin, before finally grunting. "Suppose long as you don't make trouble it doesn't matter where the marks come from. Never thought I'd be working with a Valyrian, that's for sure."

And with that, the you arrange for a place to meet later and go in to speak with the members of what you hope will soon become your guild of merchants.

The tavern is smoky, but not horribly so. It is empty save for one large table near the bar, and the bar itself. Not surprising since the front door said "closed". These are the merchants and other storefront owners that you wanted to meet.

You introduce yourself to them as Aegon Velaryon. 'No sense making too many identities for one city. One public identity will do. A web of lies catches all but the most canny of spiders after all.'

When they see you a chair is brought to the table, and a tray of bread, cheese, and meat is brought to you by the serving girl, as well as a mug of ale. It is apparent that the others have already eaten, and were awaiting your arrival. You give your apologies for your lateness, mentioning that you were waylaid but dealt with the situation. You don't tell them that it was by the Silver Scorpions, preferring to let them assume that it was by these "Barons" and that you've already shown yourself capable of holding your own against them.

Judging from the grudging looks of respect you get from some of the ones who looked at you negatively from the moment you walked in (no doubt more anti-Valyrians) and the surprised looks you get from the others, they took from that exactly what you intended.

Introductions start happening almost immediately after. Brom the smith, Gird the tavern keeper, Eileen the weaver, on and on they go before finally introductions are done.

"So," Gird asks, leaning forward a bit on the bar as he pours another glass of ale for Brom. "What exactly is this idea of yours?"

You finish the bit of meat in your hands, wipe them on your handkerchief, then lean forward with a predatory grin as you explain your goals for this meeting.

Right then. The servants are handled, unless you miss your guess they won't be betraying anyone of the Targaryen line anytime soon, and Boromun... well. You knew that he had some of his old pirate habits still in there somewhere, but they've been buried deeper than they already were. Just as he would have wanted, so it isn't as if you intruded on his will any. That would have been much harder if he didn't want it just as much as you did.

Still, if everything you see is true then soon you'll have to come clean to Aegon. It's almost time for him to know.

'But for now, there's still that farm to get sorted.' you think to yourself as you go about your business.

Well, rolls finally dictated that Dany will tell you what she's been up to. Hopefully you won't be angry with her about it.

Do you

[] Tell the "guild" about the guards you intend to make, and consolidate the plan allowing them to take some of the cost of getting them set up off of your hands? 1 Talon for setup. 50% income decrease as the investors get a stake.

[] Keep that separate. Two different business ventures so you can charge the guild full price. 2 Talons for setup. All profits remain your own.

Then we can just buy our share out when we have to leave. The guards aren't gonna come with us. Plus reduced risk if this venture fails.
