because Maximal is a perfectionist and trying to upgrade a force that is not exactly base line human anymore
Avernites are on the path to being Abhumans
Hold on a minute, abhumans? Catachans aren't considered abhumans. How are Avernites evolving that they could be considered abhumans when Catachans aren't?

-Y2: Preliminary Examination (Beergrass)
I'd prefer if this was nogs instead.

Personal
-Y4: Spend Time With (Chapter Master Julius)
-Y5: Spend Time With (Chapter Master Julius)
Can you swap out one of these actions for getting Ophelia's character sheet? It would do us well to get a better idea of who she is and what she's capable of.

-Y5: Build Advanced Heavy Orbital Weapons Platforms
--EXPEDITE YEAR 5

Why? Once again the fluff for that option is obsolete. According to the Garkill invasion list of assets we already have the recommended ratio of 5:1.

What we have yet to get is the full 30 advanced defense Stations that Parnell was asking for. We only have 18 adv. and 6 normal stations.

Given they have flack armour abs they probably shouldn't be.

Regardless, Abhumans, humans adapted to a specific planet, point is we're leaving what the norm is for humanity behind and becoming something different and probably more.

As for why they're called Abhumans, well probably part of it is much increased chance of psykers (we already knew 100 years ago that off worlders who have kids with Avernites have a percentile higher chance of having psykers), as well as development of traits that don't appear naturally in humans at all.

Durin has stated that it would be a Persons of Interest action to get that, but I don't want to do one of those this turn because Durin already has to write up two new character sheets (new general, new admiral) and he doesn't like doing more than two of those a turn.

They're rather unlikely to crit on it, though, and unlike Ace armor I would say that Destroyer is important enough that we'd want Tranth able to add extra features.
The only thing I can say for Ace armor is that the better it is the less likely transports carrying Astartes will be shot down. That said even I'm not that excited about it, unlike Destroyer.

TBF less transports of death Astartes is a good thing.

Especially since it might turn a simple boost into something nuts, crazy super stunt Joker style.

Usually drop pods are employed when met with strong anti air defences. Hmm if we can we upgrade drop pods ....

Does anyone know what kind of drop pods does Helheim Navy use ?

Thinking of making an omake where Ophelia is put thorugh a extreme test of control by the Inquisition to prove to the more conservative and suspicious Inquisitors that she can indeed control her powers. Anyone here willing to help please PM me. I'm looking for those with a better grasp on 40k lore than me.

I'm always willing to help in a plan that ends with dead Inquisitors. The more the merrier.

Dunno...

DAoT ones, we certainly have them for the Skald transport.

I'm willing to take a gander.

Also thank you all to questers for helping out I am very grateful.

Will the Collegia complete the remaining armor designs within the 50 years that Chapter Master Julius requested? This is probably the last time we can score easy points with the guard what with them having an established planet to rule now and soon to have multiple companies of marines equipped in "wtf" level equipment.

Dunno.

The fact is the Collegia has had bad luck, but they've never been modifying something only trying to reverse engineer stuff, so we don't know what their DC for the Destroyer and Ace patterns would be.

Not high presumably.

Personally I'm all for investing the 10 years needed to get them out quickly, score brownie points and crits then move straight onto the Dreadnought upgrades (partially cause I want that life support system even if only marines can use it)

Might as well work to make them friendliest to the Progressive block of the trust right?

I think they already are or at least they're pragmatic enough to give us support.

They were fine with the Quartok (albeit they were uncomfortable IIRC) and figured out how to do anti abomination on their own.

More than that Julius was extremely willing to toss the Codex Astartes out the window (which for an ultramarine is big, though after 1000 years he probably had grown a bit disillusioned with it) and try a whole new thing with the options we gave him even asking us and Schwartz for advice.

Still making sure that the Conservatives know the Progressives have the support of the Sons of the Omnisah's incarnation is a good thing.

@Durin don't know if this has been answered but:
1. When the Psyker Cities were being upgraded, were they made Level 7 or 8? I ask as they were counted as being Level 7 during the Garkill invasion and we upgraded them after.
This is the current list of Cities on Avernus (got it from The Return of Garkill, again Part Four: Orbit) and, in bold and underlined, the cities that we have upgraded within the past few turns.
Bold'd and turned Red the Psyker Cities as we spent an action Upgrading them to Level 7 when they were already at level 7. Added City of Glass as it wasn't there already. So are the Psyker Cities Level 8?
Expedite: Upgrade Defences: Nagrod, City of Glass, Roke Island, The Unseen University - Edvin Dieuwer has recently finished making plans to upgrade the defences of Avernus' cities to the next level. The final option would be to start with your major cities, which would be far quicker and cheaper to upgrade then the Hives. You could upgrade four cities at a time, allowing you to quickly reinforce the defences of your most vulnerable cities.

Time: 6 years.

Cost: 1,040,000,000 Thrones, 1,010,000,000 Material, 950,000,000 Metal, 228,000,000 Promethium, 1,710,000 Advanced Material, 11,400 Exotic Material.
Upkeep per year: 10,400,000 Thrones, 10,100,000 Material, 9,500,000 Metal, 2,280,000 Promethium, 17,100 Advanced Material, 114 Exotic Material.
Reward: Upgrade selected Major Cities' defences to Incredibly Heavy (Level 7)

Locked- Three out of Five years completed: Expedited

For the last three years Edvin has been overseeing the upgrading of the defences of your Psyker cities. Despite their smaller size upgrading these cities defences is every bit as time consuming and expensive as upgrading one of your major cities due to improved quality and the requirements of a psyker city.
Bold'd, Underlined and turned Green Malea, the Quartok city that we upgraded to Level 7 and yet didn't seem to get a reaction about or increased Rep.
