Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Unless we somehow prevent social contact between Inari and other abyssals, and that's unlikely to be possible, Lara will eventually get access to them.
So you think we'd get an advantage here by presenting Lara as a trustworthy associate of ours worthy of teaching them things on top of that? That would literally make it worse.

Edit: This sounds like self fulfilling prophecy logic. Her eventually making contact with them ≠ them believing her to be trustworthy in any fashion. No matter what we say about it us bringing her to them as a teacher is going to give that message, especially when we could have another Whampire in her place.

I'll rather not let the Death Curse plague of a Denarian's host run rampant through Molly's soul.

I think we need to balance many needs. We need to make sure abyssals get good enough information that they are grateful to us - ideally I'd want them as our subordinates or circle members, because I maintain the belief that a unified deliberative is possible, and we are at a critical early stage of forming it, or failing to form it. We need to make sure the information they get is good enough that other factions don't get them. We want to maintain alliances with other factions. Including, for the moment, White Court, if only because of Inari, and partially because Thomas.

As part of all this we want to, I think, present the information about spernatural factions in a way that doesn't appear to be overly biased. Because the simplest play here would be to for our enemies to say "obviously she made us look bad, we are enemies". For that, yes, where possible, I want them to interact with those who are clearly not under our control, such as Lara.

Now, it's important to note that I didn't mean for any such interaction to be unsupervised. We should also be there. Moreover, we should work as a single front in their education where possible.

It's debatable, of course, but I think the idea has merit.

This rational makes some sense at least. I still don't agree with giving vampire Queens leverage and an in that they do not need through the most senior Exalted on the planet to other Exalts of which Molly is her best context for what they will grow up to be in mere months, but at least this logic outlines something that we can't already do without her.

[X] Bring everyone who may have been infected though your soul and back to New Orleans

I want to see them in Molly's soul. Also, if the disease is going to spend time anywhere, then the land of cooperative immortals seems the place for it to be.

Also, a reminder - we don't have anyone to leave the coins with before going into our Kingdom, where we explicitely shouldn't take them.

We'll have to leave them behind then, either hidden somewhere not easily discovered while we're gone, or just thrown into the ocean, launched into space, etc.

Not necessarily. Call Father Forthill regarding the disposal, and use RVD to deliver them. @DragonParadox would Molly be capable of taking the coi a through RVD? If not, maybe drone delivery via EMH? Or we leave them with Listens-to-Wind

I still kinda want to give the coins to the Neverborn.

I'm pretty sure of all the things we can feasibly accomplish that would suck the worst for the Fallen. The trouble is the potential splash zone.

I'd like to ask Micheal about it, but we have to be careful about how we do that sort of thing. One of the advantages of our position is that we can rules lawyer being on the side of the Angels. As long as we can guess what Heaven would like to happen and implement it without their direct intervention Hell can't use it to earn tokens for future schemes.

Before we get rid of the coins I think there's one question with interesting results that will also pay for the essence used to ask it:

"What conditions would cause Hell to conclusively lose their game with Heaven?"

That or "How might the Angel in this coin be brought to Rise?".

Arc 15 Post 81: Raise Hue and Cry
Raise Hue and Cry

13th of March 2007 A.D.

For a few seconds you just look at the tarnished silver coin in your hand, unsure of who to hand it to. Lydia you know and Lydia you trust best of all, but she is also the one who'd going to have to talk to the people. Not to mention, if you're to be any judge she is worryingly close to running on empty. "Here," you had it to Silver Phantom who takes it reflexively and slips it into the same pocket as the other one, to judge by the clink. A far cry from the care the knights have to take with them. The thought isn't as comforting as it could be. To the rest of them know where...

"Where's Listens to the Wind?' you ask after a moment to which Lydia points down the track... at the runaway locomotive. Right, someone should really stop that as well.

"Any reason she gets too and I get none?" the other Deathknight asks, tone far too sullen for your taste, but before you can answer she hands him Akariel's coin.

"There, now we can both be targets."

The next ten minutes are among the longest in what has been a very long day as you race down the hill aloft until you are out of sight and then depart into the depths of your soul to a thankfully empty transit chamber. "Thaumic pathogen contamination likely. Engage clean up procedures... once I am no longer here," you inform the waiting SUTRA. True you might not die from being immersed in high concentration acids and solutions of sodium fluoroacetate, but that doesn't mean you'd enjoy the experience.

The moment she lays eyes on you Tiffany grabs both of your wrists as a strange sort of over-pressure you feel somewhere behind your heart washes over the room, will focused with singular purpose. "There, if you were ill now you are not."

"You don't know?" you ask, trying not to sound as amused as you feel. The last few hours had delivered precious few reasons for levity.

"If I looked and found something that would have been the cure and if I looked and found nothing I'd have done the same out of an abundance of caution. Time is not our friend. They will be seeking those coins, especially as Nicodemus will fear you might have something more exotic in mind for them than handing them to the Church to go through the usual conveyor belt."

There's a part of you that would like to argue with that framing, but you can think of nothing to say that she'd care to listen to. Plus... she's not wrong that you might have other plans.

Lost 2 Essence (King and Kingdom)

Fortuneteller you do not return to the shadowed side of the nameless ridge to the sight of hellfire and fury raining down over your new acquaintances as the Fallen seek their brethren, unfortunately you find them being chased by a small crowd which from the shouts and and assorted 'fucks' 'damns' and more exotic curses is not satisfied with Lydia's answers, even though most of the passengers at least are listening to her. What had probably started as an attempt to distance themselves from people so as not to pass on the sickness had devolved into scrambling across the rocky ground trying to keep ahead with only their feet to carry them.

"Remind me again," Tiffany fights back laughter that seems genuine, if tinged with bitterness. "What is it about mankind that makes demonstrates worthiness to inherit the Earth?"

Sometimes I wonder that as well, you sigh inwardly then chide yourself for being unkind, these people have had their whole world shattered, of course they would want answers and once the pair had started running they'd only look more suspicious. At least there are only about a dozen people actually chasing the Silver and Azhi Dahaka. About twice that many had tried to judge from the ones hurling insults and haranguing them with questions, but they hadn't been in good enough shape to keep up.

Lydia Essence 3/7 (0/3 Jade Talisman)
Lydia Willpower 9/10
Molly Essence 7/18
Molly Willpower 6/9
Silver Essence 5/10

How do you deal with the crowd chasing the pair of Abyssals?

[] Scare them off, most of them probably didn't get a good look at the fight earlier, but one more look at things over the edges of the map won't hurt, especially if it keeps them from doing their damnedest to catch demon plague (Cha+Intimidation)

[] Time for Agent Smith to show up again, looks like (Manipulation+Empathy)

OOC: This could have been a lot worse if the Denarians were in position to make a move on the Coins, but fortuently for you they are not.

Well, looking at all the discussions about what to do with the coins... I think Nicodemus is absolutely right to worry when our plans begin with the threat of throwing them into the Neverborn Sea...

Hmmm... Time to make an excuse. Terrorist bio/chemical weapon attack causing mass hallucinations? Should fit relatively nicely, but we might want to call the library for some help.

So, about those plans:
@DragonParadox I understand that we shouldn't try to destroy the coins, that was established in the talk with Uriel, that trying to do so will allow Hell to retaliate. However, what does Molly think Hell would be able to do if she was to "improve" the coins? Essentially, go with Great Curse strategy, where the curse could latch onto the exaltations because technically limit breaks could be seen as improvements to them. What does Molly think about the feasibility of such an action (whether she could do it), and likely consequences of doing it if she can (whether she should do it)?

I mean... she would have to first understand how the Coins work, but in theory that is something Molly thinks she can do.

Actually... Why should we go with the masquerade here? It's a terrible idea, but "yeah, sorry, this is a masquerade breach event. You may either step fully into the moonlit world, in which case the recruitment booth with a friendly dragon man is over there, or keep your mouth very shut, because Men in Black are out there". Get some local human resources and all that.
