Puella Magi Megami Tensei

I have an idea for another story (if you want to use it, go right ahead!).

After a particularly bad storm near the end of February, Ken Amanda and his "emotional support" dog Koromaru are relocated to Mitakihara Middle School until Gekkoukan Middle School can be repaired. Mitsuru, despite being busier than usual, has already paid for Ken's new living accomodations. That being a rather luxurious apartment in town with a friendly girl as his neighbor named Mami Tomoe, whom he meets later.

After meeting some of his new classmates on the way to school (Madoka Kaname, Sayaka Miki, and Hitomi Shizuki), Ken finds himself thrust back into combat against what he believes are Shadows. Despite being out of practice, he can keep up with the other Magical Girls as they fight against Witches and their Familiars.

Well, at least he's not pulling any all-nighters this time.

You sigh, "If I hadn't just gotten done with my training, I might've chased that guy..." Despite your muscles protesting furiously, you dig your phone out of your pocket and...

"...Hey, Mami?" You ask, "What's the non-emergency number?"

"I... Actually don't know." Mami shrugs, "I don't usually call the police for anything."

"Eh, thanks anyway." You shrug, settling for looking it up on your phone. After finding it, you punch it in.

Ring, ring...

Ring, r--

"You've reached the Mitakihara/Kazamino Police Department, this is Officer Minato Omaya." The voice on the other end answers.

"Um, hello, this is... Um, Sayaka Miki?" Are you even supposed to say your name when you're making a call like this? "I'd like to report a... Person taking pictures of me?"

"A person taking pictures of you?" The Officer repeats, "...I'm guessing you don't know this individual?"

"No, I don't," You shake your head, "He had black hair, sunglasses, and dark grey hoodie and brown cargo pants."

"...And brown cargo pants..." He mumbles to himself, "Okay, where was this man?"

"He was across the street, two blocks down from..." You tell him the street, and what alley the man slipped into as best you can. To be honest, you've always used stores as landmarks, not the street names.

"...Okay, we'll be sure to keep a close eye on that area." Officer Omaya says, "Is there anything else you needed?"

"Uh... No, that was it. Thank you...?" You get the feeling that this phone call was supposed to go differently...

"Alright, stay safe, Ms. Miki." Officer Omaya says before hanging up.

"Well, only one more thing to do." You open up the group chat, and type out a message.

>YOU: mami and i saw a creep on our way home from my training, he took a pic of me. stay safe!

And, sent! Everyone else can defend themselves, but still. A creep is a creep!

Once you get home, you're gonna lock all the doors and windows before you go to bed. Just in case.

...You also might have one of your demons patrol the house.

"...And after that, Ryoko went and threw out every single alarm clock we had." Dad finishes his story, "I still don't know why."

"Maybe it was a demon?" Raido suggests, "She's done weirder things to combat them."

"Heh, maybe..." Dad sighs, before beginning again, "...Speaking of demons, have you guys ever heard of the Demon of Akami Springs?"

"The what?" Grandpa asks, even more interested in Dad's story.

"I'm pretty sure it's just an urban legend," Dad says, poking at his curry with his fork, "But if you're interested, I could probably tell you how the story goes!"

"Madoka Kaname." Homura stops just in front of the large glass wall, "Are you--?"

"Buildin' a sentry!" The Engineer announces, placing down a large toolbox.

"...Do you value your--"

A loud clank echoes through the hall as the Engineer slams his wrench into the assembling machine. Surprisingly, this causes the sentry gun to assemble itself faster.

"Do you like the--?!"

"Teleporter, goin' up." The Engineer drops a second toolbox, which rapidly begins to unbox itself into a teleporter. Oh, and he's still smacking it with his wrench.

"Do you care about--!!"

In a flash of light, another mercenary appears.

"Engineer is credit to team!" The Heavy shouts as he steps off of the teleporter.

"Erectin' a Dispenser!" The Engineer, eager to get back to work, places a third toolbox onto the ground.

"Danke, my hardhatted ally!" The Medic appears after the teleporter readies itself. He then proceeds to give the Engineer some overheal, filling the area with not only the whirring of machines, but also the hum of a Medigun.

"Do you value what you have?!" Homura tries to shout above the noise, "Your fr--!!"

"CONGA!" The Demoman roars out as he appears from the teleporter, already busting a move.

"Alrighty, then!" The Engineer joins in with his own dance.

The Pyro appears and says... Something. It might have even been important.

"Incoming!" The Scout rushes past everyone before doubling back and beginning to dance.

"Never change who you are, Madoka!!" Homura just skips to the point, growing even more fed up by the minute.

"Plant yourself next to the cart or I will plant you next to that cart!" When did the Soldier get here? I don't remember writing his arrival...

"This'll be a piece of piss!" Oh, and the Sniper is here, too. Super. I think all we're missing is the--

Your entire body stiffens, almost audibly locking your joints into place. It's been quite some time since you've heard that name, and you've never heard it come from your Dad. Not even once.

(CHR ROLL: 2+10)

Freak out? No, you're not freaking out! Who's freaking out?! You are fine! You're just fine!

"Well, the story goes that a couple decades ago," Dad begins, "Some Yakuza Clan killed this poor woman's whole family while she was out shopping because her husband owed them a ton of money. After coming home and seeing what had happened, she vowed revenge against the clan."

Raido gives you a worried glance before returning his focus to Dad, "...What did she do?"

"Apparently, she killed so many of the Clan's members that her hair was permanently stained from snow white... To red." Dad's getting into his storytelling voice, but you honestly wish he'd just shut up, "After a particularly brutal night, she stood before the Clan's leader. Outraged by his men's deaths, he challenged her to a duel. She promised him that even if she died this day, her spirit would always stalk the alleys and kill his clan...!"

Shoji notices your poorly masked panicking, but says nothing. Kohaku, however, places her hand on your arm, looking worried for you.

"They both ended up killing each other, leaving the Clan headless." Dad finishes, "Ever since then, when ne'er-do-wells stalk the streets looking for victims... They themselves are being stalked through the night. And their predator... Is much more vicious." With a sigh, he adds, "...Or, at least, that's what I heard."

Raido glances at you, then back to Dad, "...I see." He says.

"Yumi, I just remembered!" Shoji stands up suddenly, causing Yuma to jump a little, "I wanted to show you something on the computer! Come on!"

"Oh! Uh, okay!" You hastily follow him while Yuki snickers to himself.

"What's up?" Dad asks your twin brother.

"Oh, nothing. Just had a similar story back in..." Yuki's voice disappears behind the door, and the sounds are quickly muted by the time you and Shoji reach the office.

"...Sorry about the quick extraction, Yumi. You looked... Traumatized." He says, "So, uh... I guess you had a run in with the demon?"

(INT ROLL: 18+10)

You instantly notice the slight infliction of his voice as he speaks, like he's trying hard not to let something slip. What could he possibly be hiding from--
