A Hellfish flys again! ( a Simpsons X DVV CK2 Quest)

Personally though, I´d rather not "waste" that +20 on one of his progress bars - the only thing it´d achieve would making him finish it a bit quicker
So it´s not that important a boost

Considering what huge problems we´ve been having with having Wilhelm catch up on modern military and history stuff, kinda eating my words rn - but what´s done, is done...

the first step New
The First Step

You followed Frink to a secluded area of your manor, listening to his heavy, excited breathing with an air of intrigue laced with exasperation.

Just what could have him so incredibly excited?

"Mr. Simpson, you are not going to believe this! It's truly amazing! It's straight out of a science fiction story!" He ranted.

"By Charles Dickens' writing rash, Frink, calm down and just explain yourself!" You exclaim. He took a deep breath.

"Right right. I have sensors set up all over town, designed to look for any strange energy spikes, you know, as a safety precaution. With how crazy this year has been, figured it couldn't hurt. However, the sensors in-"

Where exactly was the sensors that picked up the thing Frink is so excited about?

[ ] An abandoned Itchy & Scratchy Studios animation studio

[ ] The Springfield Junkyard

[ ] The heart of the nearest forest

[ ] A random field on the outskirts of Springfield

"-have picked up an energy spike so extreme it goes far beyond what should even be possible without us all dying horribly!"

"...I… think it's a good thing we aren't all dead, yes." You blinked slowly, a tad concerned despite his assurances.

"Yes, yes, of course. But think about the scientific discoveries that could transpire! The most insane part is this energy type is of an unknown energy! It's not radiation like I expected or any known element! It's completely new ground!" Frink explained to you, practically salivating from his sheer intrigue at this news.

"Wait, what? You mean to tell me this is some fancy smhancy new type of material or something? A completely new thing?" You ask for clarification.

"In layman's terms, that is accurate, yes. It's amazing, is it not? Assuming it's not harmful - Which, again, it hasn't killed us all so it presumably is perfectly safe - just think what it could be harnessed for! It would be even better than cracking nuclear fusion, perhaps!" He rubbed his hands together.

That was wild to think about. Just what was this strange energy? It certainly tickles your fancy, and Frink was going gaga over it, but at the same time… who knows what exactly it was? Should you really risk doing something dangerous you don't need to do for the sake of mere curiosity? If whatever it was didn't actually affect anything, maybe you could just leave it alone and focus on everything else you have going on. But still, Frink seemed genuinely excited to check it out, more than you'd seen him since you hired him. You would feel a little bad turning him down, and you get the feeling he may too dejected to check it out on his own if you do so.

Ugh. Why do you always have to get stuck making these crazy decisions!?

Do you check out the mysterious energy?

[ ] Yes

[ ] No

If yes, who do you send alongside Abe and Frink?
-Pick Up to 3 Hero Units

(Note: This is entirely optional and will have no negative effects if not taken, it may have positive or negative effects if taken, and you may take this option at a later date if another strange energy source opens in springfield.)

This is also completely optional
you do not. have to do it

Repeating for clarity
You Do Not. Have To Do It.
- Taken from discord, me and ranger reinforcing you dont have to enter the strange energy, you do have to pick a location for it to show up, however

What kinda Simpson would we be if we didn't poke the weird thing a bad one that's for sure!

My personal instinct leans towards either the outskirts of springfield or the junkyard.

and probably want a decent mix of occult and learning as primary stats, though other stats are good too. (this is me operating on vibes, for the record.)

As for the locale, I am in favor of the I&S studio because it might give us an in on doing Something with them - maybe even a way to give Poochie an actual chance this time

...just saying that if I am writing that Itchy & Scratchy omake, I am very tempted to have them sorta-quote the song *Murmaider* by Dethklok^^

the bits where a lot of "instruments of pain" are listed^^

[x] A random field on the outskirts of Springfield
[X] Yes
-[X] Professor Crumb
-[X] Hunter
-[X] Krusty the Clown

Thought process being if it's Magical then having some occult will help, and Krusty is there for Diplomancy/Intrique, and I trust Frink has Learning covered.

Hunter is there as a decent back-up to most stats and in case it turns hostile.

Sooooo, anyone want to take The Finale to the Heart of the Forest?

[X] The heart of the nearest forest
[X] Yes
-[X] The Finale
-[X] Hunter
-[X] Groundskeeper Willie

Welcome back QM crew! Glad to see an update for this, and a fun one too!

And lol at my plan actually being the same as lifeandlice's except I initially had Rotwood in it. Fine with switching to Willie though
