The Chaos Founding

We will also have only one-shot at getting Khornate Thousand Sons who align with Khorne sacred number. That's why I want them to be the 8th Warband. They will still be aligned with the sacred number. That's the point. Sacred, Khornate Psykers. From what we had seen, we just get large bonus from the triple number, but should still get smaller bonus from the double number and thematic Warband interests me more than powerful Warband.

Naturally we will give them to the bonecarvers because what's a better teacher than those blessed by Khorne?

The swordsmanship trait is a perfect fit, because as every film buff knows, cowboys and samurai are the same thing!

Well considering how much history has been lost that could be a popular theory in the imperial history circles.
I doubt that professional historians in the Imperium would even know about Texas or any modern thing for that matter. At most, there would be some broken laptops or statues remaining that would be keep by eccentric nobility or Mechanicus, well, before being stolen by Trazyn of course.

Oral history is hard to get rid of it just gets corrupted though time, and that the words cowboy and samurai have likely survived so it just is a different kind of wacky.

Yes. But we are talking about several thousand years of changes and corruption on top of at least a single, major civilizational collapse in the form of the warp storm cutting off the Dark Age of Technology Humanity. And of course, for all we know, there were other civilization ending events affecting Humanity long before DAOT. What survived, logically, was so changed, it's just wouldn't be recognizable to us. Zehmaruii would be associated with some kind of warrior social caste from ancient Terran history, but beyond this vague association, there just wouldn't be anything surviving. Just the vague idea of the thing. Memory of the memory of the shadow of the real thing.

Stories survive more easily just that they will be different from what they originally were, like Merlin the wizard has changed a lot but also stayed somewhat the same though the ages.

Merlin the Wizard also existed shorter than Imperium of Man, let alone the Dark Age of Technology. We are talking about time scale longer than Human history in the real world. No offence, but you just aren't understanding the sheer time scale we are talking about here. If it were just two thousand years? Okay, sure. But it isn't, we are talking about more than ten thousand years of civilizational and cultural changes on top of interstellar civilization collapse. What will survive, if anything, just wouldn't be recognizable to us, at most, it will share only the most basic fundamentals with the original concept.

"Wise man with strange powers", "Honorable warrior kind" but all the important details that we could use to recognize the thing as, at least, the pop-culture idea of Samurai, let alone the actual historical Samurai, just wouldn't be here. Again, the time scale just dwarfs our current, history in it's entirety, please, tell me with straight face you could speake with a Anglo-Saxon from the year 1100 using modern english, that you would have been able to recognize any culture concepts or ideas from that time period without reading, beforehand, tons of books, documents and papers written by professional historians who specialize in this time period and Anglo-Saxons.

You couldn't. Culture from modern day to Dark Age and then Age of Strife and Imperium, would have changed dramatically, there, easily, could have happened several different, civilizational collapses during which even digital data would have been lost, not even talking about all the wars, including the Age of Strife during which entire worlds were turned into post-apocalyptic wastelands when populations were fighting for the dwindling resources.

It just silly, especially when the original character of Merlin and what modern, average person with no particular interests in the character, associates with the character, are two, dramatically and extremely different things. Merlin survived and is recognized by the modern, mainstream audience, but it just a different character, what survived is exactly what I said survived, the most basic, fundamental idea, but everything important, all the details, got lost, changed or otherwise was twisted. And then of course, then come different versions that change things on purpouse, both in historical retellings of the story and original fiction mean for entertainment and only that.

Again, the argument "Well, something survived!" is just silly, when, considering the time scale and sheer cultural, social and technological changes we are talking about, if anything did actually survive, it might as well have just died, because it just changed so much.

6th Warband Part 2
- [x] Space Wolves
—[X] White Scars
- [x] Slaanesh

Current Traits
-Exalted Blessing of Slaanesh: The Marines of this chapter are excellent swordsmen, marksman, pilots, pyskers (When viable), Bike-Riders, engineers, axmen, and starship boarders.
-Ice Affinity: This warband has an affinity with ice, they have tendency towards developing ice based weapons and its sorcerors tend towards ice based abilities.
-Blademasters: This warband is extremely skilled in sword based combat.

Code:
1: It appears the second time was the charm, so to speak.

Aaaaaah, Personality One is in 'stating the obvious' mode. Again.

Code:
4: Keep up that sass, and you'll spawn a warp entity of the concept.

…. Sass does not seem like the sort of concept capable of spawning a warp entity. Certainly not from the actions of one intelligent life form.

Code:
4: You Corpse Throne-blessed know what I meant!

You deny that accusation.

Code:
4: Grrrrrrrr...

1: I think 6-1 just takes pleasure in annoying you.

Good to see Personality One is still in proper form...

Obsessions (Choose 1)
[ ] None, the warband will gain any future obsessions on its own time.
[ ] Knighthood
[ ] Marksmanship
[ ] Samurai
[ ] Engineering
[ ] Medicine
[ ] Tanks
[ ] Siege
[ ] Swordsmanship
[ ] Chemicals
[ ] Cowboys
[ ] Trains
[ ] Sharks
[ ] Dogs
[ ] Hand to Hand combat
[ ] Metal
[ ] Speed
[ ] Farming
[ ] Animal Husbandry
[ ] Gunsmithing

Incompatible with Current Mandate

[ ] Starships
[ ] Adventure
[ ] Law
[ ] Villainy
[ ] Space

Planets (Choose 1)
[ ] Cast them to the Wind: When, and if, they find a planet to lord over it will be by conquest. No planet will shape them, but there is a good chance that one day they, more than any other Chaos Warband, shall shape a planet.

[ ] Prismatis: A Daemon world of Slaanesh, Prismatis is a desert world, covered entirely in multi colored sand. Oddly normally for a Daemon world in that regard, especially since the dominant predator is "merely" a giant, Titan-sized species of snake.

[ ] Haugua: A Daemon World with an atmosphere composed entirely of narcotics. The fact that individuals who breath this concoction don't flatout die from lack of oxygen is one of the world's many mysteries.

[ ] Paale: Paale is a serene, grassy world….. A perfectly serene and grassy world…. One could say that it's even a bit too serene and grassy, where's the catch here -

[ ] Watata: An oceanic Daemon/Death world that is rather typical for it's kind. Naturally, most of the (extremely hostile) wildlife within Watata's vast depths is also at least partially Slaanesh corrupted in nature.

[ ] Jububububu: This Daemon World is actually the insides of a gigantic, planet sized, Slaanesh corrupted fish. The locals have actually achieved a sort of symbiosis with the creature, breaking down the things it swallows into more useful chunks and hunting the seemingly infinite supply of parasites within its body.

Ooc: thanks to the beta… also can someone remind me to add the traits to the post proper when I can home around midnight Midwest time?

Not gonna lie, really tempted to vote Dogs for the obsession, cause I know it kinda cliche for the Space Wolfs, but dogs and cattle kinda of go hand in hand in my opinion.

Not sure I like dogs or animal husbandry as their obsession. We already did a creature focused chapter...

Voting ain't open yet folks besides cowboys do many things related to cattle, besides with cowboys we can name the warband bucking broncos and wear twenty gallon hats.

Trains run by Giant Dog People inside a giant Space Whale. This concept is hilarious and just the Chaos insanity no one who expect.

It will be funny. I promise.

we have four sixes for the fourth chaos god, who's holy number is six.

the fourth six comes from us choosing the sixth planet option we have.
