Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Let Harry handle this
This is literally setting us up for trouble.
For the love of god, dont literally have the guy with 4 dice in Charisma + Empathy do this when Molly is RIGHT THERE.

Again, Harry has 4 dice in the relevant dice pool.
Thats human average.
Molly rolls 9 dice in Charisma + Empathy BEFORE Demonic Primacy or an Excellency.

I just kinda want to see what Harry tries to say to smooth things over. How deep can he fit his own foot down his throat, you know? :p

I'll probably end up changing my vote if things end up being close enough for mine to matter.

I don't really care. Literally the only thing I want here is for us to not give IDU to Susan. There isn't a vote which supports that so...

I lived in West Africa for years, and its largely unremarkable for one family to send one or more of their children to be fostered by another for several years, and later return, for a variety of reasons, from economic to educational to stability.
It may be out of your lived experience, but its the reality for many people.

And no, you're wrong.
Now that her father and great-grandfather's enemies know her name and face? She's a lot more protected with Harry and Tiffany and Mouse than she is with a mundane Guatemalan family.

Hell, she's better protected with Susan, who is an actual combat vet at this point.
But Susan is clear about not wanting to retire to raise a child, and I dont think Harry or Tiffany is in the right headspace to do so either.

So my Plan A is to move the entire family to Chicago where we can keep an eye on them.
Assuming the Mendozas consent.
My Plan B is to follow canon and guilt Michael + Charity into caring for her.

Being our friend is not a qualification for superpowers. Izzy and Alex dont have superpowers.
We arent giving Daniel IDU, but we are giving him superpowers.

Susan being a stranger is exactly why I have no issue with it; I dont have to worry about DPoE's effects on our social relationship. She doesnt want a million dollars. A million dollars wont keep her alive in her chosen line of work.
Superpowers might.

And from our PoV, making her a harder target saves us trouble, because Harry will go to her aid if she is in danger or asks for help. And we will go to Harry's aid.
What makes you think I meant if she stayed here? We're giving her protection no matter what as far as I'm concerned. Also as far as I'm concerned leaving this family here is tantamount to murdering them. Even if they don't have maggie their fairly likely to be killed just for the heck of it and to make harry feel sad.

So even though it literally only costs us 3m to do, and only improves our position, you dislike Susan so much you're willing to act against our interests?
Okay. Your prerogative.

I'd rather not, thanks
Hilarious as it may be to watch.
Harry has rolled high enough in this story arc that I dont want to keep tempting RNG Jesus

1) We are not hanging some poor sod out in Red Court territory to bodyguard a HVT whose identity is known to the bad guys.
That just adds to the death toll without actually affording any real protection.

2) We do not give orders to other people. We cannot control other people's lives. Not our choice to make.
We will offer to relocate the Mendozas, but its an offer.
They could refuse to move and stay in their home city, or move literally anywhere else in the world as undercover relocation.

The only thing we get to insist on is Maggie's relocation.
And thats because Harry is here.

I was never talking in any theoretical of leaving them Mendozas or Maggie or anyone here. They'll die they will absolutely die and we should tell them that.

[X]Plan Family Intervention
I do not see a convincing reason not to at least make the offer and I feel that this plan's stunt is likely to work better than just explaining another reason why.

Don't mind me, I have no strong thoughts one way or another on this one.

I didn't notice this before but these people are supposed to be a secret I don't really think you should be mentioning them by name in this place.

the fellowship probably has a hand full of their members in them in fairness. Given no idea if anyone here is the leadership probably at least knows they exist. Especially since I'm fairly sure even if they've been ramping up historically the red court have almost definitely done outsider summonings before this war.

But, seriously, what should we ask of the Fellowship to trigger MiS on a continued basis? To make contact with us? To report on something? I am honestly unsure

I was under the impression y'all wanted to avoid this side quest stretching on longer than it has to so we can get back to the White Council and close out this Arc. We actually do need Susan to not get in our way here for that to work.

If Harry fucks up his rolls in talking to her by himself without our input it's only going to make our job harder. Do you want this to be more complicated than it has to be and take longer to figure out? If Susan digs her heels in this could become much more of a hassle than it has any right to be. We should be trying to make this as smooth as possible.

Molly has better dice and DPE which means she's the best option here by far. I don't understand why people are voting to have Harry handle it by himself. That probably is the worst base option to vote for with nothing else attached.

To report on something
If the idea is to use MiS for the moment wouldn't having the Fellowship report on whatever intel they have and receive on the Red Court going forward be enough? Like on a once a week basis they can call one of Molly's clones to give her an update until further notice.

I'm pretty sure that'd be enough? Also I'm pretty sure False Spring Beckons would achieve the same effect here.

The Venatori Umborum, the Hunters of Shadows are an open organization thats existed for hundreds of years. Openly allied to the White Council. Mostly mundane mortals, and some lesser talents/sorcerers. Scholars, investigators, keepers of lore and some places. Dresden has met members of the organization at least twice that I know of; once in a comic, and the other in a short story.

The True Venatori are the secret organization, who are embedded in the Venatori Umborum.
The Archive established the Venatori Umborum as cover for the operations of the True Venatori.

Brother Devisimar literally lives with a Venator member when he's in Chicago.
They may not advertise themselves, but they arent secrets.
Susan will have heard of them by now, and Martin has certainly met some.

I dont know why the leading vote is for self-harm.
If anyone else wants to vote, they might want to do so in the next ten hours.

For me at least it is the case that I just don't care much about Susan.
Or the child for that matter.

We have to get the kid out, because she's a potential danger to Harry and Ebeneezer.
Anything else is gravy.

The kid is already with a different family.

Those are the relevant targets to convince that she'd be safer with us.
Susan plays no role in that part.
Uju had already pointed this out but that's Maggie's foster family not adopted. They very likely don't have any legal rights to Maggie. Her blood father is still around and didn't even know of her existence so it's not really possible that she transferred custody of Maggie over to them.

So Susan's word has weight here.

I don't really care about the legal issues.

We can literally take the kid (with the foster-families consent) and no goverment will be able to track us going back to Chicago. And if they did, we could trivially deal with that too.
