Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

I think just offer her upgrades. Yeah, it's a pain if everyone wants them. But we can limit it a lot easier from a moral standpoint. Susan wants to get blood on her hands? Okay, we'll do it anyway. And yeah, I don't think there's a difference between killing vampires or humans. Molly is going to be a mass murderer soon, and unlike presidents and politicians, many of those corpses will be hers to create.

We came here to get Maggie, her foster parents as well if required, and free Susan from the curse while we're at it. This would allow us to derail the plotline of Changes in which Maggie was going to be used for the bloodline curse.

Everything else is just gravy. I'm not against IDU on Susan though I don't want her thinking Maggie should stay in the middle of Red Court territory just because she gets a power up and has a loving family here who got killed in canon by Arianna to get to Maggie.

Her best defense was her bloodline relations being unknown but that's no longer the case.
Maggie needs to move somewhere safer and not be smack dab in the middle of enemy territory. Regardless of anything else Maggie can not stay here. We're trying to avoid Changes.

[x] Let Harry handle this.
-[x] Ensure it's explained that Maggie needs to move because she's a highly valued target for her bloodline relations to the White Council and already known and targeted by the forces of darkness™.

Martin - fuck this double agent sit, I'm jumping ship, Sayonara.
Double? That dude has switch sides so many times that he'll get a free muffin with his next purchase.

"Damn it Harry," she rounds on him. "I'm good at this, investigation, profiling, following the money. This is doing good, more than I ever did chasing fucking Bigfoot for the Arcane. I can't just give it up to... to... take care of a kid whose happy where she is, who already has a mother."
What exactly does she think we're here for? This is about getting the kid out of danger, Susan is a grown ass woman and can make her own decisions.

[] Offer better powers (Inner Darkness Unleashed)

Not sure there's a practical benefit to this, but I'm curious about something coming from an intersection of this issue and how those wizards technically have to sell their souls to Molly in some fashion to use the wheel.

Could we buy the red spiritual hanger on from the half vampires?

It's not exactly part of them, but they also clearly have an intimate link to and degree of authority over the thing before it kills them. From a certain perspective you could almost frame it as a middle ground between selling part of your soul and selling your first born child to the devil.

While popping the parasites out and using IDU to replace the powers is probably more immediately effective I think there's some interesting mad science potential in owning the souls of unborn vampires*.

It's also more politically palatable in a lot of ways. Lower power DF people are always looking for the hook, because it's always there somewhere. We can talk them around, but it'd be way easier if they had a comfortingly familiar fridge horror profit motive to lean on.

"The price of your freedom is damning the soul mutilating parasite waiting to wear your hollowed out face like a mask to hell" puts the awful part they're waiting for out where they can see it and targets it at something they already hate.

Plus it's an interesting in to the soul trade. Molly just wouldn't engage in most circumstances, but this could potentially be the perfect introduction. The seller genuinely benefits from getting rid of what they're offering even independent of any power they get from it.

* Worst comes to worst we could probably put them in cheap essence vessels to use as snacks when we need more motes. It'd be way more infernal than a boring old Jade talisman if nothing else. :V

I mean, can you imagine sitting down for negotiations with say a red duke and eating a few any time they drink blood? That is how you leave an impression on people.

We don't need Susan. She has no unique abilities. Having her around would only cause drama with Harry... well until Tiff crushes her like a bug. Any inroads she gives us with the Brotherhood are better served by investing in Martin.

We're here for Harry and a little girl who needs help, not to play nurse for Susans bruised ego. We'll cure her, because nobody deserves to be possessed against their will, but we don't owe her superpowers and we have better things to do with our time. Maybe if Tiff wants she can give her some superpowers, but for some reason I doubt she'll offer.

She really botched her social roll here didn't she. She got offered a literal miracle and she's complaining about how it'll affect her career prospects.
We should mention we killed one of the lords of outer night too.
They know. Martin just mentioned it.

Didn't they mention Ortega? Not the huh need to reread.

Ah, I see what the confusion is now. It's not that Susan wants to be infected. It's that she wants to work for the Fellowship, but she feels that as a human she has no 'excuse' to be so. She just got dealt a miracle for the specific purpose of going back and taking care of a kid instead of fighting the good fight. She is still going to take you up on that exorcism, she just dislikes what she sees as the implication that she should 'be a better mother'... which may be originating from a feeling that she has not done enough for Maggie herself. Her reaction in Changes and her reaction here come from the same place just under vastly different circumstances.
Okay, thats more plausible. Fair enough.

In which case, Molly should probably intervene.
She straight up has Demonic Primacy of Essence working against all halfbloods, so she's a better social medium. And frankly, making mutually agreed arrangements for Maggie will be much easier if the parents are not currently.....irritated at each other.
We should mention we killed one of the lords of outer night too.
No we should not.
Let them figure that out on their own; its a lot more credible when they hear that sort of thing from third party sources than when you come in boasting.

They know. Martin just mentioned it.
He mentiond Duchess Ariana's slayer, not that Molly killed a LOON.
Odds are they dont know.
Yet.

I am doubtful they'll ever even notice it's not like the reds will spread it. Not to mention for favors I wanted them to help our people coming out of the portal. It's not like they can do much else.

Harry being related to Ebeneezer is a secret. Ebeneezer being Blackstuff is a super secret. Don't expose those.

He just asked to name a favor guys maybe you know name said favor. The only thing I can think of would be informing our people currently playing tower defense for our soul on possible red court action and what they might expect from locals. Also ask if they've ever found any artifacts we can use. I mean I doubt it but if we can use an artifact as fuel to make the cleanser for them that's useful. Their centuries old they may of dug something up in the last couple centuries or stolen something a red court vamp had.

Every spirit in that part of the Amazon felt the LOON die.
And then the Reds are going to have to select a new one to replace him on the Council of 13.

There's absolutely zero chance the Reds can hide it
But its only been 3 days since we killd it. Its gonna take time for every member of the Fellowship to get the word that a second LOON has died in the last six months; Morgan killed one a couple months ago.

Like I've said, they are of little value to us other than as PR.

We need to choose the favor for the Fellowship to do. Intel gathering? Martin I plan to ask for help in acquiring land around the portal.

We need something broad, and I don't trust them enough to ask for help with acquiring the land around the portal. Maybe a bit later. Intel gathering should work maybe?

I wasn't asking for help securing I was asking for info. Also you known explaining how shit works in our world even culturally.

Yeah I'm not seeing a mention of the lord of outer night just Arianna which happened a while ago.
He mentiond Duchess Ariana's slayer, not that Molly killed a LOON.
Yeah, I got confused. In my head LOONs are just Red Court methuselahs so I thought Ariana counted. Forgot they had their own schtick going.

Can we not? I don't want for us to have to deal with Susan on a regular basis and if we let her loose with Brasspire powers everyone will think that we're responsible for her actions. I think we should reserve the superpowers for people who're A) loyal to us and B) we actually like.

By the way have we got a ruling what happens to souls under mercy in servitude?
So if Im reading correctly they need to be part of the world or at least be alive before dying the first time, whicch means it can ressurect those about to die but not those who are already dead unless they become part of it
Yes, another way to look at it is they have to sell their souls do you and that takes more than saying they want to. If someone were to say die under the effects to Mercy in Servitude that might well do it.
Oh... That is interesting. Can we take this as tentative evidence that at least gurvel who are all racially under MiS effect will return to Sanctuary if they die on Earth?
Yes, that seems reasonable to assume

Edit: Ninja'ed

We don't need to deal with her, and powers are a means to defend herself. She's a vulnerability as a pure mortal. One Harry cannot really afford, and Maggie either.

-[X]STUNT: Time to intervene. The tab of the Sprite can popping is unexpectedly loud, pulling Susan's attention back towards you. "You dont need powers for that sort of work though?" You ask with an arched brow, before counting off on one hand "The Venatori Umborum, the Church, some supernatural-adjacent police sections....Its not as rare as you think." Deliberately you take a slug from your can before continuing, meeting her eyes with yours. "But I can also give powers. If you want." You give a half-shrug, setting down the can as you do. "Its your life, and we all make our own choices."
