I thought of that as well !Oh right, I was thinking. Why don't we have Ellie blow open the whole magical girl issue on live television?
The collapse of the Leviathan really fucked things up and it seems things have gotten even worse with the Liberty Tower fiasco.True, but you think that the country that literally invented the concept of superheroes would be a bit better. I'm not talking about politicians btw I'm talking about comic book nerds and anime weebs that would jump head first into superheroics. (Maybe they moved to Japan/Canada or created New America)
This was the true test of whether Ellie is a worthy inheritor of E-B, and she passedThe tips of Ellie's ears turn cherry-red as she buries her face in the manual. "I thought it might have been a code or something. . . . then I got invested. I wanted to know how it ended."
Hmm, that gives me an idea...I just realized that Valiant Red, White and Blue is even more cringeworthy a name than it would seem from our perspective.
Like, from ours it's mawkish (but standard enough) patriotism combined with disrespecting the dead, but in universe America is actually currently a Christofascist nation.
So it'd be like if one of those "Nazi Victory" Third Reich's had a super-empowered Captain Swastika show up.
Kind of wordy. How about something more simple, to the point, like "Faker"?We also need to call RW&B "my loathsome copy" whenever he shows up
Way past cool!Kind of wordy. How about something more simple, to the point, like "Faker"?
Metahuman powers emerge before your twenties, and Osanyin died before New Dawn was formed (which going by the ages we currently have means the OG New Dawn was active for like 6 months and that Uiara has perfect recall of stuff that happened when she was a baby)Side note, when thinking about Rebound: Osayin managed to at least live long enough that Yazmin was able to see him on his deathbed. Even if he was a shell of himself because of Rebound, he still lived long enough to talk with a grandchild.
Maybe 'sharing' an Algernon is supposed to be more, like, metaphorical than literal. He 'shared' his work, which saved lives and treated diseases, because he wanted to help people. Maybe that staved off the Rebound until he decided to work on his 'passion project', after which the Rebound came for him because it saw it as selfish.
That would explain it.
No, it's the guy.Oh. That's on me. I guess I saw the Uiara/Interlocutor Fill-In and assumed they meant the guy rather than the corporation. LMAO.

It's weird, right?No I meant the guy.
Uiara has apparently distinct memories of her grandad despite the fact she was a year older than Nora, who was born during the Susurration.
Shenanigans are afoot…
The thing is that the fake message during PREVAIL implies that Yazmin knew her grandad in person and was able to observe his deterioration due to the Rebound.I mean the obvious answer is "video log intended for whoever broke my code", the thing Nora helped her with.
Doesn't Stockpile's interlude state he's not even a US citizen? I'm skeptical he's even been to the US which makes it all the worse.I just realized that Valiant Red, White and Blue is even more cringeworthy a name than it would seem from our perspective.
